I have switched for around 4800 watts of HIDs to 1900 watts of LEDs

I used Bridgelux Gen 2 strips some 2 foot and some 4 foot all in 3500k so I

can use them start to finish

built 7 lights to grow

I have been wanting to grow a Haze outside but being in Upstate New York

at 1250 feet my season is a bit short for 12 week flower time

so they need to be started now and taken out in flower to make it

I went with these two and planted 6 beans of each

I'm in NY also outdoor is a bit rough here but it can be done. Sounds like a nice set up indoors I'm very interested to see how doing the haze partially indoor then finish outdoors works out for you I've been wanting to do the same with some Columbians and Thais I have. Anyways welcome and I'm plugged in and ready to see where this takes you and hopefully it brings you some beautiful hazes

here upstate (42.8North) New York, May First is about the earliest

I have just gone for all MH/HPS HIDs to LEDs I am running them now at 16 Hrs on and 8 Hrs off

I do 4 pm to 10 am as it is winter and the lights heat the room over night

same in the summer easier to cold at night

before they go out I will back them down to 14 on and 10 off and run the lights during the day hours

to be closer to outside

Yes I have the same question when are you planning to put them out? Long days up there you still got the over 13 hours in the beginning of sept.lm contemplating something similar with highland Lou .I planning on starting them in a few weeks just under fluorescent and then outside starting in may sometime restricting light to about 12 hours. I'm at 40 degrees N in New Jersey

I live in CNY further upstate than you based on latitude mentioned - just @ 1300’ - This is Cambodian / Laos x Ohaze…. This plant came from a seed that volunteered itself and never saw a minute indoors it’s whole life… You can do it !

Pulled @ 5 elbows, tossed at least one of bottoms into compost pit

Harvested mid Nov, she saw a couple snow events, tough as nails !

PS: 2022 was an unusual and amazing year admittedly!

Stem in Feb 23 when I finally cut it all back down @3” diameter - looks like tree rings - haha, what a beast

I’m in a serious snow belt too (avg 200” / year); Can’t imagine your weather could be worse, on average…. Did I mention - You can do it buddy !

I have some beans from plant that did it all by themselves male and female self seeded and

finish here, the female got frosted 3 time and grew on

not quite as much as you, my falls just have been so wet and cold the stuff I liked and had worked

inside did not fair well at all

so than came the 2022 season and I was pump about being back outside and making beans

no 375 - 425 dollar US power bill for lights

use one of the top rated grow lights The Sun and G_d was paying the bill

so I went to work

I put most of my plants out between May First and the First week of June but just watch

the weather for frost

I bought my place in 1995 when i moved in here you could not put in a garden before

Memorial day or you would be replanting

so to work I put in big plants gives me a good start on the season

I am starting the season to grow out beans I made and try a bunch of new stuff to make some beans

with next season

I have no Math skills so counting to six for the limit does not happen

hit fast forward and we are at 07/07/2022

put in some Autos to try and they came down 07/14/2022 they were good

self seeded Auto from some beans I made the year before

now the patch is filling in it is amazing what 30 years of dumping Horse crap in your garden will

do for your plants

one more just to give you all an idea of patch I was looking at plans to build a trimming machine

Life is good or so I thought get a call from my wife here at work saying there

is a helicopter with guns over my patch and 3 Sheriffs and 3 New State Troopers

car on the road outside my gates

Told her let them in and they can take whatever they need

so The Police chopped early and left me very little

The high points they stopped counting at 70 plants took out 6 four wheeler loads of plants

did not paper work and no one went to jail

so we grow on

I might try some auto's here,

I did some outside put them in May First and chopped mid July

failed inside a couple of times with Autos

the Auto smoke was very good but being a bud snob I was waiting to smoke the shit ton of different

photo bud i was going to harvest

so I made them into coconut oil

smoke a bit but made most of it into 1 3/4 gallons of oil

Autos are cool but they are really small. I'd give the photos a whirl ,providing that they can at least be in the shadow of your neighbor's lights .problems with hermaphrodites in my experience are rare outside

Coppers stealing your plants while head shops left & right selling flowers (no license to do so), some even shrooms too, both illegal of course… they stole them in 2022, or a different year? If 2022 damn bro, that’s just BS bad luck !

Beautiful area you’re growing in though, I like the setup… I’ve got an acre in middle huge neighborhood many prying eyes and eyes of HS kids… but it’s amazing what you can hide with proper site lines… but not from above

I’m b/w two hospitals and the Helicopter that rushes patients from the smaller to larger city flies directly over my house, I literally hear choppers every day overtop, luckily nobody gives a shit of course but that damn sound….

10-20” coming of the wet heavy storm stuff if you’re in the hills, you gents a bit east of me may get more here, normally the only times you do - NorthEasters

I’ve got a buddy with autos you wouldn’t believe he’s been breeding (lbs each) but in general I agree with both things you say ^, the POI on autos just isn’t up to snuff for me either…

I’ve seen people with grows directly under HID streetlights 30’ above & non issue… If the plant is always there, it acclimates and understands the variance b/w the Sun vs those lights and thus Day vs Night in most all cases I’ve seen & heard…

worked at a Greenhouse that was getting their gas stolen first oil crisis, they put in a security light

on the end of a big old glass greenhouse

a 400 watt HPS dust to dawn at one end of a greenhouse full of Poinsettias, that did not go into flower

for Christmas

no one stole their gas
