Pheno 1 of 5. I ended up keeping the tall Sativa Vietnam Black leaning phenotype. She is a beast. Smells like sweet and sour incense funk. I will post more picks coming soon. Thanks ACE collective and keep up the excellent work!

Thanks SylvianGardener,

Im glad you found the female that works better for you and fits more your taste. Enjoy! :tiphat:

You are welcome LowFalutin :)
Thanks for share your Orient Express harvested plant, wish she provides great moments in the next months. Looks clearly the Vietnam Black sativa pheno, with high flower leaf ratio and small thin leaf ... how are the aromas ? Organic humid compost mixed meat ?
Guess the plant suffered some kind of salt, ph or feeding problem cos she has lost all the main leaves on the way and finished quite yellowish, with better health the final yield could be real nice!!
Her high is soo clean and clear. And clean! Reminds me of one of my F13 phenos.
Through the vaporizer her taste is honey sweet, with a touch of butterscotch.
Re: her health- when I began flushing her at 8 weeks I didn't know that she go another 6. :) BUT, I have her clone (pruning her into a bonzaiMum) and now that I know her much better the next run will be fantastic. :dance013:
I'm now going to launch my 5 freebie Zamaldelicas for a slightly different kind of high. :whee:

cheers amigo

Hello de145,

Orient Express seeds available for the past year are very fresh, both standard and fem stock has less than 1 year.

Hmm... must be old stock at the single seed place I had to order from then I guess.

Are you any close to taking credit card orders yet?

The single seed place must have sold me some *very* old stock of both the feminized and later the standard (I ordered twice thinking there's no way that both could be old stock since I had such good luck with the other Ace strains) and they refuse to discuss germination (even though it's legal for many of us).

ya tengo un paquetito en mis manos, en floracion es muy comilona? acepta dosis altas de fosfito potasico? un saludo

Already I have a paquetito in my hands, in flowering it is very a heavy meal? Gently accepted dose discharges of fosfito potassium? A greeting

sorry por la traduccion.

Sounds good :D That's the kind of effect the Orient Express was selected for. Good luck with your Zamaldelicas!

Hello de145,

Remember we replace any reasonable germination problem 2 years after packing date.

Yes, we accept credir card payments. Best regards

Lovely ganjas there in Mrikostan bro :) Shirin Gol is in Mongolia eh? Japanese attacked Mongolia before WW2 and were defeated by Soviets on those mountains. The Man who won that battle was Georgij Žukov... VEČNA MU SLAVA :smoke::smoke:

Thanks konopenko. Actually, Shirin Gol is a strain originating from Tajikistan, not Mongolia. Got some Mongolia genetics, but not in this cross

Also OE seems to be very sensitive to the moisture level in the medium as seedlings and if it's too wet (or perhaps too rich) they grow very warpy leafs and either die outright or grow out of it with normal leaves at higher internodes. (Someone posted a picture a few dozen pages back of a warpy looking seedling that is exactly what I'm seeing here.)

Are OE slower to sprout? Known to be unusually sensitive to too moist (or rich) a medium at the seedling stage?

In my limited experience OE sprouts fast and is quite nutrient sensitive as a seedling. Out of the 5 different strains that were planted in the same rich organic soil, the OE suffered the most serious nitrogen burn and has been slowest to adjust to the soil.

For comparison the auto cheese in the same soil had no problems but the pure sativa strains like Nep Jam and Destroyer were burned a bit. They just weren't as badly effected as the OE. The burn was a totally newbie mistake on my part.

My advice to anybody accustom to the hungry dutch strains is to dial back the nutrients content in whatever medium you are using when you start off OE seedlings. (I hear that later in life they are actually quite heavy feeders.)

Even after suffering sever nute burn the OE babies are growing faster than their "dutch" counterparts. They are impressive little plants.

My hats off to Ace and Cannabiogen. It's a bit early to make any final conclusions but the Destroyer, Nep Jam and even the heavily burned OE are making their big name seedbank neighbors look pretty small and sad in comparison. :)

Thanks for your kind words The Hatter :) You are right, Orient Express seedlings doesnt take very well very rich soil mix or excessive nutrients, she and other more chinese influenced hybrids i have produced do a very particular lef curl with excessive N in the first 2-3 weeks of life. Later they become hungry plants, especially in the first 2/3 of flowering, but is better to start with a well airated mix soil with medium N levels.

Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at Orient Express and something odd is happening; I have two questions:

I grow under LED (120 true watts) indoors scrog style in 10.5 liter buckets in a cabinet in soil-less mix and feed *very* lightly with Maxibloom.

First Question:
Is it possible under certain conditions for an Orient Express to finish *earlier* than 8 weeks?

I ask because mine has trichomes turning from clear to cloudy right now and it's at day 36 from flip to 12/12 (5 weeks approximately) and actually surprisingly dense frosty buds for how early this is and some big fan leaves turning colour as other plants normally do when nearing completion.

Going by my past experience with other strains this plant looks like it's about a week or two away from harvest (all cloudy trichomes, maybe very few amber ones here and there no more than 1%) which would put it just barely at 6 or 7 weeks which seems peculiar.

I'm wondering if high growing temps have caused it to finish earlier than normal as my average temp has been 26c throughout the flowering period sometimes peaking at 27c near the end of the day, never lower than 24c when the lights are on.

I know plants in general tend to grow faster under higher temps but I've never been able to determine for certain if this affects the days of flowering required or just the size of the plant.

I also note that the ACE site recommends 25c for Orient Express and backing off to 20c for the last month, unfortunately I was not able to do that due to circumstances beyond my immediate control though I will try to do that next time around.

Second Question:

I'd also like to know the reason behind the recommendation for dropping the temps for the last month, is this to induce "fall" like conditions to trigger finishing or for superior taste and scent or some other reason?

Going to be smoking and deciding which of my Orient Express I shall be keeping in the next few days. I took a bag of one OE and another China Yunnan and they both are very nice. I think the OE has a more up high with what I presume to be a diluted China Yunnan taste. The China Yunnan has a much more intense taste, but is a bit of a mongy stone at the moment. I will post up some pictures in the next few days too.

Has anyone had an issue with flowers becoming too bulky and snapping the branches on this strain?

I have a truly beautiful OE in flower at the moment that has an elegant, slender branched Christmas tree shaped structure. It is flowering quite profusely and even though it's only week 4 I've noticed it has some serious top heavy sway already. (The thin stem may be my fault. It sits in a spot completely sheltered from the fan.)

Has anybody had to stake up and support their OE plants during late flower?
