Nosey neighbor solution,ideas?

OK, I have a friend who purchased some land in the country that has some outbuildings and a 20x30 garage.He wanted me to build a room in the garage 6x20 to grow in and put power in the garage since it had none for some reason. Soooo I go out get supplies get my backhoe and start diggin the trench from main buildin to the garage for the service line direct burial, btw the main building has 200 amp service so i'm runnin 100 to the garage.Anyway this fella comes over and says"what are you doing"I say running power to the garage.He says what is he going to do in the garage? I say I think he is going to restore his old car. He says oh and goes away. So the next day I am mountin the 100 amp panel..got the strange feeling I was being watched...I turn around and there he was. WTF!! He asks me am I a certified electrician? I say yes..i'm not certified but I have been doing this shit for over 25 years. He says oh and leaves.Garage is all wired up now with outlets switches and what not, sooo building the room, I show up with supplies to build ...there he comes, whats all the wood for?? I am getting very irritated by now...I say i'm building a storage area in here for the owner.Sooo he fucking stands there and watches me unload supplies!! I start framing the room and he is STILL watching me work...sooo I'm like well lunch time i'm gonna go get some grub. He leaves , I lock up go get some lunch. Come back and did not see him the rest of the day. SWEET!!! Next day i'm hangin lights, setting up ventilation and stuff with the door LOCKED now, I hear knocking at the door....IT'S HIM!!! He says how is the room going?? I say fine, he says wow that is alot of power going in that room, he can see the romex goin in there, I put in 4 seperate 15 amp lines for the room. I say yeah he is going to run his air compressor in there and he wanted seperate outlets for some shop lights in the room and what not.My friend is totally freaking out after telling him all this. He paid some serious $$$ for this spot and is VERY nervous about this this old dude. Any suggestions??? I know I can count you guys and gals, 1000s of ideas is better than our 2.

really you cant do anything about nosey folks unless they just disappear lol... but silence and secrecy also with very good odor control should help....

that's just weird... odd behavior, for anything 'normal' that i would've thought. he's never gone up to u'r buddy to say hello? well, have u'r buddy stop by that guys place to say hello... feel it out.

outside chance... he wants you to build him something... maybe not a grow, but maybe needs shit done at his place...? checkin u'r work out? doubt that, but still.

touchy situation, he is either just really friendly or has no life at all. If he is really friendly, it shouldn't be too hard to shunn him away, if he has no life, better get ready for the ensuing chess match with this fucker.

If it were me, I would be very friendly but absolutely not answer a single question he asks. Just change the subject and ignore his question all together, or answer it with another question regarding him.

At this point though, you've kind of set up your friend for more random visits because he is going to want to see the car and all the progress along the way.

good fences making good neighbors and all, i think dedicating some of that electricity to a shock fence may be convenient.

and when he stops by to ask what you're building and why, you can tell him 'it's for the razor wire electrified fence - it'll keep the rabid mastiffs the owner is buying where they belong'

tough call man ya have to make him feel like your being neighborly but at the same time feel uncomfortable. the old man might wonder were the old car is that never got put in there etc. maybe start going by his house for random reason borrow a hose etc and see if it bugs him he prob will be nosey as long as u make him feel comfortable doing it. or ya can kill him with kindness id say stall on the hook up stage it to look like a work shop invite him in when he pokes his head in show him around so he thinks every thing is on the up and up if hes already suspicious then acting like ya trying to hide something will only raise more suspicions. also maybe ya can do diversions like guys doing yard work fencing repairs etc while someone else sneaks in the room to do wok. also maybe get a side door entrance that the neighbor cant see from his house.
