What a beautiful atmosphere and gardening enjoyment you have managed to capture in this thread dear Hombre del mont :tiphat:
Your frequent updates with pics, the beautiful location with the plants thriving with your presence and dedicated cares bring those sweaty, smiley and relaxing summer feelings.
Much :respect:

for the amazing training to keep under control the height of your sativas while at the same time providing the conditions for a lush and healthy growth.

It's a pleasure to see the New Caledonia sativa recently released this year being so nicely grown by you and your friends, means a lot to me, much appreciated. Inspect carefully your 3 NC females at this stage of first third of flowering, since in case one of them finally decides to become hermie will do it at this stage, so during these intial weeks of flowering inspect frequently the tops and intermediate nodes looking for male balls. If NC females don't show any hermie tendency in this first third part of flowering then they will finish firm and without problems. Glad the sweet and fruity aromas from them are already enticing.

The Zamaldelica has really beautiful excellent sativa structure, super branched but at the same time robust, with short-moderate node lenght and a quite fast flowering onset. Your Zamaldelica belongs to the Zamal/Thai tamed phenos we have been working towards on last year Zamaldelica regular breeding and reproduction.

The Panama always grows strong, vigorous, well branched, it's a very easy and completely trouble-free sativa strain to grow like Zamaldelica.
Glad to see Panama and Zamaldelica already flowering strong.

The GT and Super Malawi Haze looks like they are going to be the this season late bloomers, it's rare they have not started to flower yet, but will start soon, that's for sure.

Hope you and the family have had a great summer time  after these last rains looks like autumn is really close ....
this reminds me it's time to enjoy last sunny hot days, my daughter is ready and waiting me to go to take a swim togerther, ciao, take care and enjoy! :)

Happy Sunday to you all, I hope you've all had a good week and that your gardens are thriving.

Things here are good. The weather is splendid, Mrs Del Monte is good, the garden is coming on nicely.

This last couple of weeks we have been getting a lot of fresh veg from a neighbor, And lots of homemade puddings! How cool is that!
We have a new kitten. It adopted us! It was hanging around our cortijo for several days and as our 4 other cat's didn't seem to object too much, my wife started feeding him. A week ago i was awoken in the night by the little devil sitting on my pillow; He'd figured out the cat flap. He now is part of our cat gang and in truth, it's lovely having a kitten again; Sadly our only female cat (and my favorite), Martin, doesn't really like him and hisses every time she see's him.

Thank you dubi for your kind words; We Ace Seed affectionados are so lucky to have you commenting and offering helpful tips/insights on our grows. It is an honor to grow out your genetics. And everyone who visits my house agrees that my weed is the strongest and has the best highs that they've had in many years

As regards the NC, so far so good with the balls, (although my eyesight is not what it was, lol). I did notice a little tip burn on some of the older leaves and wonder if perhaps I overdid the PK. None on the new leaves though. I'll just give her water for the next week or so. First some pictures of "The Horse Shit" grow. The Runtz and Gorilla are fattening up nicely and are not far off being fully ripe. The Lady grower has started to take some of the top buds off and they are drying. The NC continues to stretch but is starting to bud up now. In comparison to the 2 hybrids, she hardly smells at all. She still has not had any additional food, although yesterday I did advise her to get some PK.

Just about flowering! I hope the weather holds out this year, This girl seems more Thai thna the one I grew last year so I'm very excited. As a youth in the UK, we occasionally got the real deal Thai sticks (late 70's) and at the start of my indoor growing, i rather stupidly attempted to grow some; the smoke was exceleant but it stretched like hell and never finished. The GT i did last year is perhaps my favorate smoke ever!

Next up is the Panama, As you say Dubi, this is a vigorous plant. I'm very excited about this one, as despite getting many good weeds in my youth, i never got to smoke any Panama.
She's flowering hard now ad yesterday i gave her a good dose of organic PK.

IMG_0694.JPG

Next we have the Zamaldelicia. I'm very excited by this!. Again, early on in my indoor days, i attempted to grow a Zamal Mango carrot! (yes i was very silly!). Again she wouldn't finish and filled my cupboard up with twiggs and the lightest flowers I've ever seen. the high was amazzing despite it not being finished. I had never even heard of scrog in those days.

And finally we have the Super Malawi haze. In the last week she has really started to flower. Last years plant was the Neville's haze pheno i believe. This is certainly a different pheno.

I second that big buds on the way brother. The Zamaldelica outside in the sun is going to be potent. I wish I could use the the sun more it always makes the high special compared to indoor under lights.

Happy Sunday to you all. I hope you've had an awesome week.

It's a bit of a strange week here. Mrs del Monte is visiting the children in the UK and I'm here all alone , just me, 5 cats and the 5 girls. Oh, I'm also looking after the neighbors horses, donkeys and dogs.
The weather remains lovely, 30c most days but dropping to 15c at night. The expected storm that flooded some places in Andalucía, passed us by without much rain or wind. Just enoutgh rain to wash off the BT spray, so last night i was out again spraying a mixture of BT (Cordalene) and Potassium soap. A couple of days ago i found a couple of catapillars, which seems odd as i've been using BT.

So, today i have a couple of pictures the "bath tub" grow. I've not seen her in person for some time but get pictures sent every so oftern.

I'm sorry i have no pictures of the "horse shit" grow this week, I had a very late friday night and didn't make it for coffee on Saturday morning; you know how it is sometimes, the wifes away etc.☺

So far no sign of any hermie issues. The smell is not strong, you have to be very close up to smell her at all. When i was a kid in England, we had sweets called herbal sweets, although they didn't taste of herbs but more a slightly medicated taste; She reminds me of them, (they happened to be one of my favorate sweets as well!). The lower leaves are yellowing a little sooner than i would like, (you can see it on the first shot of her) and so tomorrow i will give her some Guano tea that i have brewing.

WOW! just WOW! the NC is off the charts man you just ruined my day ha ha Seriously they all look amazing I'm moving to Spain ha ha.

Montuno

Man of the mount : it is quite normal to see some small caterpillars, even if you use BT correctly : think that BT needs the caterpillar to eat some of the treated plant, as its main effect is to paralyse the digestive system of the "pest".
You should not worry if you only find a few live caterpillars, as long as they are small.
There is probably a much larger number of dead, fallen caterpillars than you have noticed....
Still, you are right to keep spraying regularly.

Hi everyone, l hope you’re all well.
Hey Hombre, that NC is looking righteous, what an absolutely beautiful plant. It seems to have stacked hard over the last week and is really putting on a show.
Montuno’s right, BT is a bacteria that needs to be ingested to work; it’s photo sensitive, so sprayed under the leaves will last a lot longer than on top. It can also be tank mixed with teas and I’m guessing foliar feeds. Applications at once a week are standard practice during an infestation.
Caterpillars born on the plants from eggs are not such a problem but “walk ins” are. I believe it takes about two days to become effective and a caterpillar can do a lot of damage in those days.
One way I try to combat this flaw in the IPM is to plant sacrificial plants, such as brassicas, to draw attention away from the plant and get that initial dose into foot traffic.
Another thing I’ve tried is to encourage European wasps into the garden, with meat, and l generally get a nest in the hugals every year to hunt in the garden. These are veracious predators and eat most of the end of season caterpillars, except the bud rot cats that come out at night. These insects, in my experience, are very harmonious in the garden and a lot easier to get along with than bees. They do not veer out of the way if you are in their flight path, however and will fly straight into you and then keep going. This usually happens when you’re near their nest and l get the feeling it’s a defence mechanism as well as a warning. I always laugh when they do this because it’s kind of like someone who bumps into you in the street because they refuse to move off their line of motion.
Wishing you all, all the very best for the next few weeks,
Cheers,
40.

Lovely update as usual Hombre del mont ;) thanks a lot! A pleasure to see your Panama, Zamaldelica, and New Caledonians advacing so well and fast in September, i'm sure they all dealt with latest storms like champs. The Super Malawi Haze is really extremely tropical, what a thin, delicate and elegant girl :bigeye:

Happy Saturday evening to you all. I hope you've had a great week.

It;s been almost 2 weeks since my last update. I wanted to give you "more" to see than just my weekly update.

Thank you gentlemen for your kind comments and reassurance re the aphids. Thakfully the defoliation and the spray seems to have got things well under control and the Panama continues to rippen nicely.

So this morning is was up at the Horse Shit grow and took a few photos; sadly they turned out rubbish (i couldn't see the screen of my phone because of the sun). I'll still post a couple, but the quality is poor. Intrestingly this plants flowering started a least a week after mine began. I was supprissed when i saw her this morning how different she looks in 1, bud formation and 2, how few white pistalls she was still sticking up in comparison to mine. She looks like she'll finish before mine. The loupe showed only clear and milky trichs.

IMG_0768.JPG

On the photos she looks like she has more white pistalls than she has.

Ok boy's, i know what you want and it's hardcore bud porn! Am I right?

Ok, i'm going start with the NC. A couple of distance shots before the dirty close ups.

That's her behind my chairs. I can smell 5 different Ace strains from there now!.

IMG_0792.JPG

The colas are fattening up nicely and are very long; she's still putting out lots of fresh trichs. I'm guessing 3 weeks for her.

The extreme Goldern tiger. this plant is super sexy! Just look at those elegant long stems. Very excited about her indeed. Goldern tiger is perhaps my favorate smoke in the last 45yrs or so and this one looks so thai! (Dubi, you and your crew are superstars with the genetics you put out!)
IMG_0772.JPG
IMG_0773.JPG
IMG_0775.JPG

Ok, so next up is the Panama. she is the closest of all my girl's to being ripe; I'm so desperte to get something inside and drying as we have many robberies in the area.
According to the info then 3rd week of October is when she ought to be ready and it's looking that that's about right. Iniatally i thought she was going to be a green pheno but now i can see she's red. Very excited.

Please look away if easily upset by hardcre porn!

Not much to say about her. She continues to grow well ad without trouble. I think another month yet.

And last but certainly not least, The Super Malawi Haze

In the last week she' started to put some flower on and is shaping up nicely. I love the skinny leaves and the way they hang languidly. Very sexy! the last shot is of last years SMH taken at the same time of year; very different.

On a final note, Mrs Del Monte is back at home, I'm no longer feeding my friends animals and this mornng an 11month old baby girl made me cry with happiness!. All is good in the world of the Del Monte's.

Have a great week chaps and happy harvesting to you.

, your welcome, but have to sleep in the drying room; The spare bedroom is perfect for drying plants at this time of year.

Happy sunday to you all; I hope life is being good to you all.

it's 2 weeks now since the last update and the weather continues to hold up nicely. Most days we're still getting 26c but it's getting chilly at night but not yet down to single figures. I'm not sure of the night time temps as my min/max is being used to monitor somes cobs! We had a shower of rain the other night but in the morning the high peaks around us had a little sprinkle of snow; Gone by lunchtime though.

I was up at my good friends Horse Shit grow on Saturday as usual and remembered to take my device.
The plant got a lot more battered than mine durring the rain, as she's not supported with a screen like mine. Shes looking awesome and smelling even better! Incredably sweet! I've never smelt anything like it. She's now starting to reflower and is putting out foxtails. The grower has been extremly busy with life and has not been able to get around to supporting her, but hoped to do so later that day. She's so excited; She's never done a sativa before and is amazzed at the difference in the bud development. Her plant has a more intense smell than mine and the bud structure is somewhat different.

As you can clearly see, the ground is just made up of horse shit and is refreshed daily!

So, My Plants; Well two weeks ago i thought the NC was about 3 weeks from finishing and had in my mind that she was a 3rd week of October onwards finisher. About 5 days ago I noticed the start of reflowering and the emergence of some small fox tails. I've since re read the info on her and see that she's mid November. I stopped feeding her some time ago thiking she'd be finishing sooner. No worries. She very pale but looking good. The smell is much sweeter than it was but not as intense as my friends. I thought the other day there was a violet edge to the sweetness.

I should add that these are some seriously big colas. There's a lot of weed on this plant. Everyone who see's her loves the look and smell.

Next up is the Goldern Tiger. She's going to be a big girl when she's finished.

9 days ago we decieded to take down half of her. A couple of things made my mind up. There are many weed robbers around are area at the moment. I know of one friend who's been done and have heard of others. A few days ago someone was seen on our camino carrying a plant. I also wanted to get to try the different effects she produces at differet times of harvest, but most of all, i wanted something indoors drying!. Most of what we took is already cobbed (as most of this years harvest will be), though i did save a few choice buds for regular jar curring. The rest of the plant will be left for much longer.
Today i took a look with the loupe and have about 20% amber. I did of high pressure water wash of the undersides of the leaves again last weekend and things seem pretty much under control.

Zamaldelica
Yesterday she was harvested. She sort of crept up on me without my noticing her. I'd confussed her expected finishing date with the NC and didn't expect her. The trichs were 50% amber, so could have gone a bit longer, but for the above reasons, she was cut down and is now hanging to dry for 2 days before 80% of her gets cobbed.

Not a particulary big plant, but that not a problem if the sneaky test bud that i took and dried in the dehydrator last weekend is anything to go by. This is going to be powerfull stuff and hopefully will make very trippy cobs (i do love being retired and being able to get stupidly high every day). She smells a bit like stinging nettles in the drying room.

And finally for this week we have the Super Malawi Haze, she's really starting to put some big colas up. There appears to be a light pink sheen to the pistals.
