as most u know were havin a baby in october.

if its a girl its gonna be "Aurora"... (Aurora Renee) (Renee, since my moms 1st name is Renee and my wifes middle name is Renee too)..weve pretty much decided that.

if its a boy we were lookin' at some other names, i like mostly alaska names...but ive only really got thru the "a" section of my alaska atlas/gazetteer...cpl i like so far, but don't hit the nail yet are:

Anvik
Atka
Aniak
Attu

...1 from the e's "Eska"

...any other ideas??

if my parents named me Anvik i would punch both of them in the face as soon as i was old enough to resent them.

also, congratulations on the Oct. birth! my birthday is in october, which instantly makes your little bundle of joy 10x cooler.

me, i wouldn't give him an inuit name, comes out too much like "igor sullivan". how about a famous frontiersman from up there, i'm not that up on alaska history ... maybe "william" as in william seward ... although "vitus" as in vitus bering is kind of cool :D

Congratulations on the upcoming event.

When you get to the T's, I read somewhere that people name their boys Track, Trig and Tripp in Alaska.

Koyuk
Marshal
Ninilchik
Noatak (could be noah for short/nickname)

Homer
Sura (green leaf, new life - seems fitting)
Miki (little)
Kaya
Desna (boss)

My friend had a dog named hannuk (no idea how to spell it) - it means shit, so he'd have a good icebreaker...

if it was a boy and my choice he'd be 'yukon' in a second.

our great pyrenees is named 'yukon'...and tho he's the best dawg in the world we dont need another 'yukon'
