Seeds are mazar sharif x mandala #1 cross I made a couple years back, not sure what will happen here but here we go. Everything you see is home made apart for the fan & filter.
Well it all went tits up, right off the bat. Had a nematode problem in the roots see my other post. Going to try neem oil, if that doesn't work I'll start over. Plants are still alive but haven't shown any signs of growth.
Yes they do look healthy but its a different story in the root zone, there are now no roots coming out of the large upper netpot. I removed all the brown worm infested roots 3 days ago. Still waiting for the neem oil to arrive. Lets hope that they can hold out till then
.
I have read about neem oil/water direct to the soil but would check on the forums for sure or maybe a more seasoned expert can answer for you. Buhler, Buhler, anyone...
Good Luck!
Well things haven't gone well, I have still got these tiny worms in the reservoir, no matter how many times I flush they're still there, neem doesn't seem to effect them. I pulled some of the weaker plants out and their roots were brown with a tiny bit of new white growth here and there. It was a bad idea to put so many seeds in there in the first place as I would have had to cull the males and leave the roots to rot. I have 6 plants left in there, if I see no improvement within a week I'll be starting over.
The remaining 6 plants have been removed and put in soil. I've bought a new 25 litre bucket with 4 4" net pots in the lid. I've washed and baked the clay pebbles and will be having a go at growing 4 automatic blueberries. They are in rockwool cubes right now.
Well all of the plants that were in the DWC survived being transplanted into soil and have started to grow new leaves and roots, they are 8 weeks old but dont look it, and 4 out of 5 automatic blueberries are just starting to put roots out into the water.
If I put the cupboard into 12/12 the autos wont flower so well but I have no choice as I have no space to split them up. So within the next few days they will all go 12/12.
