Most affordable Skype doc - Canada MMPR

Wondering if anyone has links to an affordable doc that operates over Skype. The area I'm living in doesn't have many signing docs. Most of the skype docs charge nearly double as much as in person ones do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM if you don't want to post here. Thanks!

What is the cost of a signature on a referral form for a MMPR Licensed Producer?

From a skype doctor to a flesh and blood doctor(or nurse practitioner), since there's an indicated difference. Since it is only allowing permission to buy and not permission to grow, I can't see a charge any larger than $50.00 - $75.00.

But I have no idea...That's why I'm asking.

It typically costs around $400

Are you sure!...You got to be SHITTING me!!

That's what the docs were charging for the MMAR, ATP with a PPL, which allowed a person to grow there own. So, if I'm getting this right, you have to pay $400.00 a year to a doctor and then $10.00/gram to an LP, just so you have your medicine...That's FUCKIN robbery!

If I were you I would keep looking...I'm sure you will find a doctor that is a lot more reasonable. I would try contacting a few of these LP's, some of them advertise helping patients find doctors that are willing to sign.

Best of luck.

The prices haven't changed at all since it went from MMAR to MMPR. I just now found a doc for $270 which is way more reasonable.

LOL $400 is ridiculous under the MMPR what other medicine costs $400 for a prescription LOL. Funny part is not doctor is willing to talk about or sign underSection 56, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that Conroy says you should get with the amount of grams that your ATP was. I and a buddy of mine tried and got a yah sorry no go or Well be happy to sign you for for MMPR.

I was almost going to start a thread about doctors that will sign and where they are located, but I am not sure if the doctors would like that (I respect them, as these doctor are actually helping). People should be able to get these licenses easier. I know 2 people denied by their family doctor since the MMPR came into effect. I though there was already a court case about this( R v Mernagh?). Doctors that don't know anything about medical pot should not be gatekeepers. What a sad system just waiting to be dismantled by the courts. The only good part is the situation the government is in. They are backed in a corner legally, and the courts may just toss all pot laws if they interfere with the right to medicine.

What other medicine does the Provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons discourage doctors from signing, and threaten them, and make them go through mounds of red tape, etc...They may want to call it just a prescription, but there is a lot more involved.
Why do you think doctors are so reluctant to sign if it's just another prescription?

The issues that the doctors have with the MMPR is that under the MMAR the doctors didn't approve patients, Health Canada did. Under the MMPR the doctors are the "gatekeepers", basically Health Canada has washed their hands and told the doctors to deal with it.

You might want to really think about listing mm friendly doctors. The Colleges and the CMA have said they will go after docs that sign too many documents. Your good intentions could have a negative effect on those docs.

Your right, I wont post any names. It was just a thought, people should have access. This system is terrible.

Don't give these profiteers free advertising. If they are charging, they are crooks and criminals and should be boycotted, reported to Health Canada for ethics violations, and barred from practicing medicine.

The 400$ ones yes, but if they are charging 10-100$ then it is no different than any other health form. Doctors need to be paid for their time, but not 400$ like said earlier in this thread. A disability form or equivalent is often 100$. The MMPR is a shorter form, so should be a bit cheaper.

$100 is acceptable especially if its a private visit. I think private visits are around $65 for non specialist doctors.

I think the regulations don't actually restrict doctors from advertising. Just LPs themselves. So if that is the case, soon enough you'll see ads for pot doctors popping up. I know too many family doctors won't touch this. People need access(it is a right), or we need to challenge the laws in court again.
I know I certainly won't be paying more than 40-50$ for a prescription and I am sure as fuck not stopping growing my own. I just want the nice little bottle to carry around, the right to smell like weed, the right to medicate in public(in approved smoking areas lol!) and the opportunity to checkout any good looking strains LPs might(not?) have.
I think we should all get a prescription, medicinal marijuana works for such a vast array of conditions that nearly anyone can benefit from certain strains. Even if for daily stresses. Health Canada does not have a list of conditions that qualify, ANY condition is a valid reason to get a medicinal marijuana prescription. Just get the prescription to protect yourself from the law, you don't even have to order much pot ever.

I don't think $~250 is too bad to be able to protect yourself legally from potentially thousands in fines. The price will drop though as more docs come on board.

unfortunately i paid $500 for the "privilege". although i know it is nothing short of extortion but for my situation it is worth it. i rationalize it to myself that it works out to the price of a cup of coffee a day. to not have to deal with leo that is worth it in my books. fair? no. but hey, life aint fair now is it?

I hear you brother, being safe(r) from LEO is invaluable. Just out of curiosity how many grams per day prescription do they give out for 500$, if you don't mind saying of course. I hope they at least treated you well in that respect.

i dont mind at all. im legal ;) at this point legally the most any doctor can sign for is 5g a day for a total of 150g in my possession at any time. i have the option of booking a follow up dr. appointment to ask for an increase. im valid for 1 year. hopefully by that time it will be sorted out to a better extent but at this point im tickled pink to have what i do. life has already improved for me greatly.

Health Canada should at least allow the LP's to extend the time period for the prescription/referral. If the doctors are charging $250-$500 for a signature on a one page referral, shouldn't it be at least good for 5 years, the same as a drivers licenses.

You can have a larger medical document / prescription than 5g/day. The most an LP can ship at one time is 150g, the most you can carry at one time is 30x your prescription or 150g max.
If your script is for 10g/day then to get all your meds for the month the LP would have to make 2 shipments within that month.
Cannabis Advocates was saying this 5g/day max limit today at the Champs show, I set them straight.
