I am glad you are doing better try to stay positive, and listen to your body not your mind, the mind thinks you can do a task but you body knows it can’t, happens to me all the time anymore sometimes with negative consequences ...They have done a lot of tests on me, so far so good, but there is always some apprehension when you have to go for the consultation for the results.

Just read the last five years of smokermans life story. Wow...

I found the early posts intriguing as I also have a fully calcified blood clot blocking the flow of blood in my leg, 100%. It hurt like hell when it first formed, 15 or so years ago. I’ve had three more since in my legs as well as mini stroke, and two probable PE. Docs told me nothing could be done for the clot, it’s there and staying there. I’ve always wondered how blood is getting to where it needs to go. You are brave... hang in there.

Thanks everyone.
They did a biopsy Monday morning so I guess it’s a wait and see.
I’m so fed up with hospitals, doctors, and procedures.
I also have to have a lung CT next week then go meet with thoracic surgeon.
Shit never ends.

Let me ask you smokerman.. did docs ever figure the cause of your clot and other items? Clots don’t simply form for no reason. There are some rheumatological conditions that cause at least some of what’s happening with you. Do your best to keep looking forward. I’m feeling your pain. Was mine for many many years.

The last time she said it was because of cholesterol the few before that I was told the bypass graft had scar tissue closing it, can’t really remember the original.
On a positive note, my vascular surgeon is an extremely beautiful Brazilian, who always brightens my day whenever I see her.

Ok so I emailed the Dr Friday asking if he has the biopsy results yet and he just responded asking if I had time tomorrow afternoon to discuss the results.
Are you fucking kidding me? You have the time to respond to my email but don’t have the time for a fucking phone call? You just leave me hanging for 24 hours? Unbelievable.

Ok so like I said the biopsy results were grade 2 papillary renal cell carcinoma. The original surgeon I was referred to passed me off to another one who wants to do an ablation due to the other issues I have plus my age.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic he says he won’t be able to do anything until the middle of next year.

On a positive note, my vascular surgeon is an extremely beautiful Brazilian, who always brightens my day whenever I see her.

My primary care Doc is a woman from Brazil, as well. German descent, to be more precise. And a wonderful woman, also.

Like yourself, I'm making my way through the new and improved cancer maze of knowledge.

Re. your Doc asking if you have time to discuss the biopsy later, I've found most Docs (especially the specialists) are that way. They are still embroiled in a period of time during which clinics weren't operating on a normal basis, due to C-19, other than for the worst of the worst cases, patients were avoiding clinics like... the plague, etc..

And now that the healthcare pros are finding their cookie jars approaching empty, info that might've once been conveyed via a no-charge 3-5 minute phone call, instead require either a Zoom meeting/Tele-Health meeting, or an in-office visit.

The short of it is, They want their $$$$$.

I looked at what one of my specialists billed my insurance company for what I paid a $60 co-pay for, and it was -hundreds- of dollars, for what amounted to a 5-10 minute Tele-Health meeting, and THEY left me hanging for a biopsy result for well over a week!!

At the next meeting, I politely told him that while I was doing OK, I could've done without the unnecessary 10 days of stress waiting for information that he had in his possession the whole time..

COVID-19 and the economic results of it, has not necessarily brought out the best in lots of people.

By the way, If you're up for it, yesum shared a link to an article about sulforaphane, and broccoli sprouts (sprouted broccoli seeds, specifically bred for sprouting to be eaten the way we once ate alfalfa sprouts) as a sort of anti-cancer grub. We were initially quite skeptical, but further research has the stuff offering some promise. Look into it, if you're up for it. Though I can attest to the taste of broccoli sprouts getting old after a few days.

Good luck to you. :good:

When the pandemic first started they canceled elective surgeries , around June they started doing them again and dr’s said they had never seen so many patients with advanced cases of cancer.
Now we’re back to canceled surgeries again.
I sent a letter to our ministry of health and the response was quite shocking, it pretty well said unless you’re literally dying, you will not be seen.

Yeah, I had emergency dental work in Canada (Yukon Territory) in May, and the border was restricted at that time, though not quite as tightly as it came to be shortly there after.

Even with numerous varieties of documentation, and having lived there 40-some years ago, I was at the Border for well over an hour, but I finally got through, though only after my dentist read the Yukon Minister of Health's declaration over the phone to the person who was OIC at the time.

Our infections here are -popping- now, per capita, and lots of folks want to contain it (though not enough are being diligent, imo), and the clinics certainly want to get back on track with taking in money for services, but at this point, we're seeing a distinct increase in hospitalizations here for C-19.

If it weren't for the images in my mind's eye of the cancer rubbing its tiny little hands together in anticipation of taking over new turf, I'd hold off doing any thing right now. But it seems those of us with urgent needs get to run the 'COVID-19 gauntlet' this year, and maybe get additional bragging rights in the end.. :)
