LED grown Sour 60

I

IceColdCrickets

I gave them the first dose of ICC's Happy Frog Fruit & Flower mild tea mix this evening.

Temps in the room a nice even 80 degrees.

Remember bro, the Happy Frog is still in testing so please stick with the Mild Tea, unless you are willing to test the Medium Tea. Let me know what you are planning to do.

At this point I am not going to step it up at all and most likely going to take a small step back.

After I watered with the first tea mixture I noticed a majority of the seedlings had down turned leafs but have not showed signs of burning but I think they got to much N.

So I may make up a gallon and just divide it into two seperate gallons but by then maybe there is going to be enough new growth to handle the mild version.

Sweet ya, please take it easy on the Happy Frog, it would appear that when they change the process making it powder and not the chunk like The Peace Of Mind was, that lady from foxfarm said. It stands to logic that more nutrients would be released when brewing it due to increase surface area from the powdered Happy Frog.

Please Try to find "Black Gold Rose and Flower" brand. and you can use it like it should be used. That really sucks that they cut the peace of mind product line out. So, we just need to figure it out with the pappy Frog and will be ok.

Im also working on My Own TEA to share with the community, made from common ingredient anyone can find. I will post up results on that.

ICC :hide:I smoked to much Sour 60!! HELP!:hide:

What I do not for sure like about the Happy Frog version is that the powder is not consistently the same size. Some is actuall powder and some is granules so trying to get a nice even amount is hard to do.

I do have some of the Black Rose brand in stock. So what I am going to do for now is this. MD just sent me the same Sour 60 seeds that he is about to release. When the seedlings I have now sexed i'll up plant them and start some of the Sour 60 seeds I just got and use the Black Rose on the new ones and keep using the Happy Frog on the first batches.

I'm not a soil gardener, so I don't often think to tell people this, but your plants will use less water with LED. In hydro it doesn't make a difference lol, but in soil I know it can. Anyhow, just thought I'd throw that out there for future reference.

Are you guys talking about the happy frog potting soil? If so, why do you keep saying powder? I recently picked up a bag to do a side by side comparison with Canna Terra Pro. I was planning on planting directly into it, but after reading that it's in test phase and is stronger I'm a little hesitant? Are you guys talking about making a tea out of the actual potting soil? if yes...then why would you cook/steep/sterilise a non sterilised soil soil/medium? It brags about the beneficial microbes and living organisms that is has from not being steam treated... Wouldn't making a tea out of it kill these beneficial microbes?

Am I on the same page? Or even reading the same book for that matter?

Happy Frog is in a plastic bag? Are you saying that what I thought to be soil is really a concentrated type of compost? Should I read the bag again?
Are the microbes still living and active after being cooked? And What is the purpose of putting the compost through that process? Why not just leave the microbes in the medium and feed them through waterings?

Therefore I was in the same book...wrong chapter.
Thanx for the speedy replies!
Any thoughts on the heat affecting the microbes though?:tree:

When u make the tea you do it with room temp water and an air stone; not a pot and a stove ;)
