Ive never even been to the Dam before so hopefully whenever they have it next year Ill be able to go. If people were going to plan a trip during the non-cup seasons, what kind of price range would we be looking at? Im always down for traveling and hopefully soon my job situation will allow me to. Its great checkin out everyones threads though, keep it up! Its probably the closed Im going to get to amsterdam anytime soon

Having an event when none was scheduled on April 20th was my idea. I couldn't believe no one had capitalized on it and this date is just before Queens Day people like to be there for a week later. Easter was over and rates were low this year.
What we need is more events not a change in this one. I love a trip in the spring to start my summer. Gypsy saw that this date could be a planting time event rather than the usual harvest time events found around the world... Maybe I am making that part up but Amsterdam does have the Cannabis Cup in November and its cold and shitty then I bet. Nobody wants to change the date though.
Lets have another one. Lemme see now isnt there a big one in Vansterdam on July 1st? BOG

^^^^ Will most likely be the exact same dates. 18-19-20
April, although it is possible we lengthen the event by
starting a day or two earlier...just not sure about that yet.
For anyone coming next year, or contemplating attending,
I'd suggest taking the whole week...Saturday to Saturday.
With 4/20 falling on a Thursday that would be my choice
if travelling from a distance.
We have alot of great ideas for next year already! I will be
working on next year's event beginning mid summer, so will
be updating you all soon.

I dont think the cup date is that good in april, first of all i will never be able to make it...
second of all its not summer yet, and tons of people all over the glove have more spare time during summer than in any other date!!
So i think you should think in the foraigner visitors!!!!

Although the summer is ideal weather time in Holland, it's not 4/20. Weather is kinda lousy on Dec. 31st too, but that's when New Year's Eve is, so it's the same for 4/20...must be held on April 20th. Besides the rates are really high on lodging during the summer (peak) season, as well as airline tickets.

id love to see a snowboarding event take shape as ive been tryin to plan one with my friends in canada or alaska (its decrimed in alaska)

4-20 is not a very good date in my opinion. You have to think of all the college students like myself who are stuck in class at that time 
I would love to attend next year if it was in the summer months, when I am on vacation.

not only the students there are many jobs that give the vacation week during the summer (pick date). The event was organized and scheduled on 4/20. That's all I need to know, and how does all this snowboarding hooha fit in with the poll of whether or not the date should be fucked with. Talk about off topic! 
Our esteemed host and his overworked staff have organized a prestigious event to be held on April 20. I for one am flattered that I could be given an opportunity to attend such an event in my lifetime (I don't get out much I guess!
) let alone judge or participate in one, and that it is held at a point in time when college students (yeah - KIDS) are still in class seems to be a bonus. Just look at what spring break has done to Ft. Lauderdale and other gorgeous communities - no thanks. 
That travel and accomodations can be had during off-peak seasons is a bonus. Do you change your birthday or Chirstmas Day, Easter or Halloween just because it's inconvenient for you? Try telling our government that you don't think you want to vote on November 4, it isn't convenient for you. Am I the only one that fails to see why High Times or others haven't already capitalized on this time of the year? What a stroke of stoner insight - thank you BOG and Gypsy.
