I remember my Dad drinking a beer towing a boat coming back from the lake. Getting pulled over and told the ground on the hitch was lose and causing the tail lights to flicker and go out. Beer hand he handed the officer his license the officer told him be careful on the beer it is not against the law to be drinking but it was to drive drunk.
I remember the honey oil in little mil bottles for 20 bucks. Remember Oaxacan spears. A lot of black Colombian. But Thai sick and Kona weed from Hawaii. And of course any thing grown in Humboldt county was killer.
I remember wearing platform shoes....yes, I admit it and I'm still embarrassed about it four decades later...ha!
I also admit to wearing flared pants, but I'm not embarrassed about flares, they were "cool" and so comfortable...I wish flares would come back, I hate skinny leg pants.
Remember the days when other kids would make fun of you if you wore a helmet while riding a bike?
And, if you carried a backpack to school you were the class "geek"?
Remember going barefoot everywhere, and it was okay? No one even noticed!
We had to EARN our trophies. Nothing was just given out to everyone.
My bike was my "faithful steed" and we went out everyday for hours....only had to be home for supper when the street lights turned on.
Love to all you awesome folks that remember the finer things in life.

I remember When the Stones came out with "I Cant get no satisfaction " (63) and then the Beatles on Ed Sullivan (64) and a draft notice lottery number. But most of all in those years thinking on the way up to the Ski resorts in Utah those VW things will never last and boy they went through the snow. Well it seems they have outlasted Pontiac, Oldsmobile, AMC & Chrysler
