Howzit?? Aloha!!

Hey Everyone!!!

Hi! I'm Manny, or "Medical Manny" on social media. I have muscular dystrophy and i have been growing my own mmj for about 5 years. I still consider myself an amateur with a lot more learning to do. Although, i make some pretty decent medibles and an amazing topical ointment.

I have been a medical patient for about, 10 years, and a caregiver for about 8 years. My passion for growing and medicine making was born out of a necessity to be able to medicate myself and then grew to a passion for taking care of my loved ones as well.

I grew up in Hawaii, but we have been in Oregon for about 4 years. We just bought our first home, down in Springfield.

I am currently in the process of resurrecting my medical grow- i have 4 or 5 seeds sprouted in little starter cups. I am using a 50/50 coco coir/perlite mix as my grow medium. Starting my sprouts out on 18/6 under 2 19w LEDlight bars.

I recently read 'True Living Organics' by The Rev, and i have been struggling to get through all the rich data in 'Teaming with Microbes' (im probably going to have to read it a few more times before i fully comprehend everything...) i plan on transitioning to fully organic in the near future, but right now i am sitting on a bunch of bottled nutes that were given to me, so i am going to use them for the next couple of months so they dont go to waste....

I plan on growing a few different strains, but right now my GDP seeds are the only ones that popped..

A few of you might have seen me on other forums- i look forward to reconnecting with old friends and establishing relationships with new friends

Hi there!

So far, all of my grows have been indoor. Although I did do some planting and harvesting/trimming work for a couple of larger grows in the past years. I plan on growing a few plantis in nybbavknyard this summer, although I am pretty sure I am going to light dep them and pull them early.

Aloha Manny. I also grew up in Hawaii but moved to Oregon 19 years ago. In a few years we will be returning to the Big Island to live out our years. I only began growing since Oregon went recreationally legal. I've had some good luck growing seeds from Oregon Green Seed.

Hey MM, I worked a strain called Hammer Of Dawn, for a lady with MS, and I do realize they are different, I have to wonder if you would find some relief from it.
We got her from starting her day taking 45 minutes or more to get out of bed, to getting up and started with a couple of puffs and getting up and moving in about 10-15 minutes or so.
She is a true fighter, and refuses to be beaten down by MS.
She had never smoked weed for pleasure, and was dead set against it, until I had her read for a while.
We are into our 4 year now, and I've taught her to grow her own.
She uses such a tiny amount for smoking, but has introduced more edibles to her diet, which has also helped greatly according to her.
Best to ya.

Greetings. Sounds like an interesting strain. From what i have heard, strains with a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio are supposed to be really effective. I tried some of the Shark Shock when it was in the testing phase and the meds i was gifted with were truly amazing. I'd love to hear more about that 'Hammer of Dawn'. Lineage? Characteristics? Bud Porn?

Cheers,

-MM:tiphat::tiphat:

Hey Manny, I should qualify my post more thoroughly. I am a complete amateur and only know the bit of knowledge I've gained off the internet and a few books. I know nothing about growing for medical needs but my homegrown did get me off opiates four days after hip replacement surgery. I do not have an indoor setup and have only grown outdoor during the Oregon summers.

Oregon green seed is run by a gal that was in the Portland area but recently moved south closer to you. I've enjoyed a couple of her strains and she's now providing CBD strains as well.

I've been grateful for the knowledge shared here at ICMag. Have fun.

It's local slang in Hawaii too. Aloha DB

Aloha DB!!! I grew up on Oahu, but i've been to the Big island a few times. Had quite a few friends and some Hanai family from Big Island too...

Gotta say that the Big island grown white widows is the best outdoor i have ever had-frostier than some indoor.

A few years back when i could walk a lot better, i used to ride with a club that originated in Puna.

Aloha Brah
