In a virtual world fight between martial artists, I'd put my old Hapkido master Gedo Chang up against Bruce Lee any damn day. In theory with both fighters in their prime age, I'd bet Chang would have had Lee on the ground, wrist and arm locked out, elbow dislocated and crying for mercy in the first twenty seconds or less.

All due respect for the late great Bruce Lee, he was a movie star dancer martial artist.

Bro you "got into it" by posting in the first place, it's a discussion, if you can't, or won't support your opinion with at least telling us how you reached you it, then why even post at all?

Sorry, I don't have to post in conformity with what YOU think. I'm just saying my opinion, and thats that. I can see you're all geared up for an argument, you won't get one. I've got better things to do. Comprende?

I was just interested in how you arrived at your conclusion is all, you can let your guard down now.
Many people, like Osirica420, Kizzattacks, and others have made very good, well thought out posts as to exactly why they think that Bruce would own most people in the UFC/MMA, that's whats fun to talk about, every once in a while an armchair11 stops by without a clue, but for the most part everyone has made good arguments for their positions.
That's all, "Comprende?"

Also BudG, I didn't mean to single you out for not explaining why you felt that Bruce would own the UFC, many others posted just like you did, I wish they all would just expand a bit on why they feel that way.

I think that Bruce Lee in his prime with his level of skill applied with the evolution of time & training, Bruce would absolutely destroy anyone in his weight class.<- I have done a fairly good amount of research on Lee & Jeet Kune Do, for me to come to this conclusion. His only competition would be the heavier weights(Brock Lesnar anyone ?). Fighters like Silva are more than worthy opponents, & agree or not I see Bruce edging him out. Check some facts about him and I am sure that many will agree. Lee>>>>>

Good stuff Higherpower, thank you for taking the time to explain.
Lots of people agree with you including myself as far as domination of his weight class.

I'm DVRing the history channels 2 hour Documentary "how Bruce Lee changed the world" right now and looking forward to watching it later.

Why aren't more Jeet Kune Do practitioners fighting in K1 or MMA?

Jeek Kune Do is a philosophy more so than a martial arts form.

"It´s not a style of martial arts like karate, Wing Chun, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai or other more traditional arts. What sets Jeet Kune Do apart from traditional styles of martial arts is that it´s not fixed or patterned. It is a philosophy with guiding thoughts."

Some more interesting facts about Bruce himself.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Lee#Physical_feats

His waist ranged from 26 to 28 inches. That is / was one small guy!

There is a Bruce Lee documentary !? What ? When ? Bruce Lee was the pinnacle of what a human being should be, not only as a fighter, but as a man. Where Bruce was mentally, physically, spiritually, few if any will ever be there. Does everyone know about this mans capabilities? He was famous for his movies, which by the way this man single handedly did his own choreography, directing, scripts, screenplays, etc. Not one of everyones favorite actors could hold a candle against him. He never got involved in tinsel town scandals or any other crap hollywood types are known for. All while raising Brandon and being a great family man. But since this is a discussion of his fighting abilities, I can assure you that Bruce was an extremely capable fighter. Images of what degree of injury he would inflict on Silva dance on in my mind. How long has it been since Bruce passed, yet we are all here 25 pages deep on a thread of who he would beat in UFC on a marijuana site. I don't think that there will ever be anyone on his level, again, how long has it been ? Simply put... he was a genius & IS a legend.
