We have to look at two important factors here: Profit and the Economic Recession.
From this past winter, this was the first year I've seen as much garbage as you can possibly see come from up North (I was in San Fran in December visiting a few dispensaries and buddies of mine) and it's accreditted to the number of people who are now growing because Marijuana has become "a little more" legit than what it used to be. It's still not 100% legal but that's a whole nother story...
When it's legalized on the Federal Level and BIG TABACCO plus BIG PHARMA get involved in the business, then as I mentioned above we have our two factors; Profit, and Economic Recession.
Profit means how much am I paying for overhead?
Employees
Lights
Equipment
Nutrients
Outdoor fields (property costs) or Indoor Warehouses
Etc...
Most of the above will be given to the larger corporations for wholesale cost because they're purchasing so much shit but after the harvest drops (which will be in the ridiculous numbers) then they have to look at the market value and the how much people are paying. Which falls into the Economic Recession category.
I love fire weed. My buddies love fire weed. HELL - EVERYONE LOVES FIRE WEED! LOL - But not everyone can pay for fire weed. Thats why they have $10 grams, $15 grams and all the way up to $25 grams of the killer weed.
With the abundance that the corporations will be growing in, they know that they can undercut the street dealers because of their weight, but at the same time make it reasonable for the average person. In reality, $1-$2 a gram or less. Perhaps comparing it to a pack of cigarettes for $6.18 out the door but a pack of "Marlboro Northern Lights 100's" might have 4 marijuana cigarettes in them and be sold for the same price. To customers who are 21 and up and can show a valid I.D.
At $6.00 it might not seem like a killing, but sell them in every state at millions of packs sold per day and it all adds up. The labor will be assembly line for the factories of Marijuana production (cheap labor), the costs will be low, and they can still undercut the competition. The only problem is that these big corporations will probably take our beautiful plant and put some bullshit chemicals in it to make us addicted to it like cigarettes.
Expect a SERIOUS fall in prices. To the point that NO AVERAGE grower would even want to enter this game regardless of how good their technique is because it's just not profitable anymore. You can buy cheap brandy or cognac, but companies will still make Louie The 13th for $300 a shot. Meaning that other companies will only specialize in HIGH GRADE cannabis, again, pushing the smaller guys out of business.
It's sad to say, but I don't want Marijuana to be legalized. Not for the profit side of it, but I can see the entire industry going to shit once the larger corporations get their hands on it. They'll find some way to ruin everything for us.
Legalizing Marijuana just "sounds cool" on paper....
