How do the gangsta's/underground fellas buy property, etc?

I understand that the standard strategy is to just throw it under a frugal/clean friends name. But watching (bad) television this morning, the cops made reference to a network of financial maneuvers this dealer made that allowed him to bypass the prying eyes of the FEDS for so long.

Howdeydodat? I always wondered how people can live like capitalist kings, yet somehow stay under the radar.

Apparently necessary edit: I'm not asking for a "how to be a king pin!" handbook. It was a fun thread made in jest regarding a TV show. Not about my actual life plans, hehe.

Nothing serious.

my uncle owns a dozen properties...he isnt some gangsta or underground kingpin. hes just a guy who bought a house when he was in his twenties...flipped it, and after 40 years buying/flipping and renting out hes making 100k+ every year just off his rent profits...

id imagine just become a property landlord in real life...and maybe mask some of your grow profits into your rents somehow.

Good point. I guess when you have a lot of incidental resources, hiding shit becomes easier. But this guy was just a hood rat who couldn't pull that off. I'm trying to remember the name of the show..

First off. if you view your self as a "gangsta" then you have much bigger issues. The idea is to not be gangster. Living modestly is good

people that live like cocky kings always go down. you need to be modest and you need to be able to account for how you can afford what you have. The real estate idea from yes4prop215 is excellent. Just buy a house and sell it for a profit or rent it out. then buy a house to live in. this will start a legit

also make sure you have enough saved up for potential legal bills.

It's called money laundering, there's even a wikipedia page on it. However, as you thought it was a good idea to go on a public forum asking for a 101 in money laundering, you really need to ask yourself whether you're cut out for a life of crime.

what hash said it true....kids who wanna be :"gangsta" are the ones who fail. the real "gangstas" in my opinion are the old guys who stay under the radar and have been doing shit for years. no flashy shit...no stupid wannabe gangster BS out of rap videos like popping bottles and pouring champagne on women and your tied up enemies. it aint like that. being a gangster is for cheap thrills...being a mobster is about making a living breaking the law but know how to control themselves to maintain their livlihoods...

low profile, legit income as cover, making everyone think you are someone you arent. thats a real mobster. not some loud mouth people with chains and a escalade bragging to everyone how much dope he moves and treating people around him like minions and shit....spending all his earnings on jewelry and clubbing...those guys are what i call CLOWNS....

you need to start a clothing label man. sell shirts for $100 when they cost you $2 to make in china. then all you gotta get is some "baller" to where your cra, err, i mean quality clothing in some video or get him to tweet about it. tweeting has become gangsta as fuck now

^I'm not a mobster either. I just wanna be a dude that hikes the whole summer skis the whole winter and gets to grow my own weed. easy going, and light hearted is the way to go for me. Some times the federal government kinda makes it hard to fully relax though, even when I only grow small. never let your guard down.

I never in a million years would have imagined one day people would proudly admit they do something called "tweeting" :biglaugh:

Now ain't that "tweet"

I used the term "gangsta" in a sarcastic way. I'm not asking about money laundering. I'm not "trying to be a gangsta." I'm wondering if there was perhaps anyone knowledgeable of the very specific situation I described; the police were talking about how an individual had bypassed the tax eyes of the FEDS using a barrage of complicated financial re-routing for tax purposes (Ie, not your standard money laundering). I enjoy reading about this type of stuff. It sparked my curiosity, and I wondered if anyone had any idea what could be involved.
