I´d say just let it evap a bit more and presto you have a more "stable" product!

But this is more of logic deduction than experience ;)

Question: If I first use my bubble bags can I still get something out of what´s left by doing a QWISO on the leftovers?

Yes! You would have to overwork the material to get all the trichomes using ice water and bubble bag extraction.

QWISO is a good way to pick up the remainder.

If you evap your wash in a teflon coated skillet, would you then be able to break off the hardened pieces with a plastic utensil?

Has anyone tried this? Safe? Effective? Maybe throwing the pan in the freezer before scraping?

I've seen the teflon bag thread, but a brand new teflon coated pan would probably be cheaper and easier for most people to get than a teflon bag.

Perfect! Is it straight qwiso?

Yes, first run. Second run will be ready to scrape in an hour or so..

However, the only reason I got such a nice finish on this one was because you guys did all the leg work in getting us to this point. Eternal thanks, fo sho!! ;)

Did a quickie test run with DJ Shorts Oldtime Moonshine. Looks pretty good to me. Haven't had a chance to try yet, but if it smokes good, I got lots of it to run ;)

Just made a 2nd batch (first one washed too long and definitely wasn't honey) using frozen S-L-X, etc.

Here it is after evaporating - ready to decarboxylate:

Fresh out-the-oven gooey goodness:

And after meeting with a freezer and a razor blade:

I'm very pleased with the results, but I was curious to know if anyone knows about purging Methyl isobutyl ketone (Mibk). It's one of the denaturing agents in S-L-X and has a much higher boiling point (274 F - way up in decarboxylation range) than ethanol or methanol (the other denaturing agent).

I'm thinking I might try straight up isopropyl next time and see how the results differ.

Real quick, I'm ok, but had a kitchen fire. Do not evaporate alcohol in the oven, I apologize for being wrong about this!

maybe you could put an edit in your original post regarding the dangers you've had evaporating in the oven. That way no one will read it and think its ok without reading the rest of the thread and seeing that its not

im sorry if that sounds harsh i dont mean it that way im just thinking saftey

thanks for all you've contributed, your hash looks delish

After reading through this thread I gave it a shot, I used fresh frozen super-frosty trim, cold ISO, 10sec first run, dried on a heating pad next to a big fan, took hours, ended up with something that looked like dry sieve, powdery and fluffy

Is this texture normal? I was expecting an oilier type of thing

Second run shook for a minute, same drying method, end product was redder but with same texture.

Both white and red hashes bubble awesomely, they melt down on the weed below, white was so smooth, crazy clear-headed high, red tasted hashy with powerful body stone.

G Wolf: I did the qwiso extraction on the remains of the bubble bags and it gave apretty good yield. I must have fucked something up (a bit) as it looks like the oil is full of kief.

Which might be a good thing.

First try tonight.

Bon appetite! Please let us know how it tests out!

PS: Can you more fully describe the grainess you are seeing and which process you used?
