wasn't it G. Gordon Liddy who, YEARS ago, advised (RE BATF) "they are wearing flak jackets, and you are better off shooting for the head" ? head, legs, or arms, things that are not protected. no, you might not kill them immediately, but they sure the hell will quit shooting...Liddy was talking about LEO, but his advice rings true even today. the new armor will stop nearly all hunting caliber rifle cartridges, and ALL handgun rounds. the unfortunate officer was failed by his (otherwise good) training which emphasizes double taps to central mass (upper body), that being the part most protected by body armor.:angrymod:

Sgt. Erick Estrada told Anderson Cooper that 18-year-old gunman Salvador Ramos was actually involved in two separate “incidents” on Tuesday:

I do want to state that there were two different incidents. The first incident was involving the suspect at their grandmother’s residence where he shot the grandmother and then the grandmother was airlifted [to a hospital].
And the second incident that came in, was actually involving–they called it an epic crash and man with a firearm outside the school premises. There was several law enforcement that engaged the suspect, but he was able to make entry into the school where he did go into several classrooms and unfortunately, he did fire his firearm inside the school premises.
But then he was met with another tactical law enforcement agency which ultimately were able to bring him down… Unfortunately, there is confirmation right now that there is 18 deceased children – or students – and there’s two deceased adults.

Time to buy another upper.

I expect that the "Child Safety Lock Act of 2005"/ "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act" will be repealed, at least the protection from liability part of it.

And that will affect insurance costs - and firearm products will get a lot more expensive. Or become un-available.

AR15 production increased massively after Bush43 signed this bill.

Democrats can pass gun reform with 50 votes plus Kamala Harris without a single GOP vote needed.

you might be about to learn that there are pro 2nd amendment Democrats, that do not think that restricting citizens rights are the answer.. overreach is not the sole property of the GOP. "never let a disaster go to waste" does not always work..."we have to DO something!" is a battle cry for morons. until someone comes up with an idea that will work without shredding law-abiding citizens rights under our constitution, nothing WILL get done. over 70% of school shootings are committed by people under the age of 18, meaning they could not legally have a gun to start with. the kid in Texas should never have been allowed to buy a gun given his obvious mental problems and prior contacts with LEO as documented in the news...

All these Rep/gop politicians saying it isn't a political issue is a dumbass. Going off the data Tomorrow there will be another mass shooting in the USA. . This issue lays squarely on all Rep/GOP laps. Sure there are Democrats that are gun advocates but rarely voted no on common sense gun laws. The data shows who keeps preventing any laws from changing. We all know this isn't gonna stop all gun violence. Even if it stops 1 it should be enough..

in Great Britain, you are legally required to retreat from aggression, allow thieves & burglars to steal your shit & ransack your home. here, the thugs risk their very lives to do that. freedom aint free, and it never will be. "those that would surrender freedom for safety deserve neither." you want to live a life of safety in a cage, have at it. i'm not going there...

i'm open to hearing what anyone calls "common-sense gun laws" that can be passed to "protect society" while not punishing citizens that are not breaking laws. be prepared for heavy laughter & mocking. most folks that use that term have no damn idea how many laws are in effect RE firearms, purchasing, and legal storage/transportation. there is no law possible that will stop someone that is going to ignore the law, it really is that simple.

“He would curse at the customers, at the managers, even at me,” said Jocelyn Rodriguez, 19, an employee at the Wendy’s restaurant. She recalled that he once told her, “I’m going to shoot up the Wendy’s,” but she never took his threats seriously. “I thought he was joking.”

Two weeks ago, she said, he stopped showing up to work.

He purchased an AR-style rifle at a local retailer on May 17, a day after his 18th birthday. Then he bought another one on May 20, officials said. In between, he bought 375 rounds of ammunition.

No gun to child massacre in 6 days. All done legally, as soon as he was capable, by someone who was looking to "ignore the law."

It really seems like the ONLY thing stopping him was his inability to purchase a firearm legally.
