Ya know I've never read a weed book. Schooled through the net
Your lucky, the books i posted pics of are but a wee fraction of the books on cannabis ive purchased. Needless to say, ive spent dough on them. And as long as your good at seperating the bad info from the good, the internet now-a-days has all the info of every cannabook ever published, times a million. Unfortuantely, when i bought my first grow guide, (i think it was the original version of mel franks Marijuana Growers Guide), at the time, the interweb was just a twinkle in Al Gore's eye. They didnt even have weed books at major bookstores then, like they do today. I bought it at a shady headshop, that no longer exists. It was the only book in the store, and was sitting next to the five pound bags of hemp seed. I thought, "score!". Anyways, consider your self lucky i guess, ive spent tons of dough on info that you could prolly find for free. Although, i dont necessarily regret buying all of them, just most of the strain guides. Ive learned a ton from the rest. But believe me when i say this, IVE LEARNED INFINETLY MORE, FROM 3 MONTHS AT ICMAG, THEN FROM ALL THE PAPER LITERATURE IVE EVER READ. Thats for damn sure.
really when you get right down to it pappy there isnt a lot of solid science about "drug" cannabis out there yet when speaking of botany or horticulture, only in the medical field are you going to find much in the way of peer reviewed material about "drug" cannabis as opposed to cannabis grown for hemp fiber or seed production.
indeed,we are only now developing the tools and techniques to even be able to understand how plants function at all, humans are just barely scratching the surface of understanding the photosynthetic systems much less something even more complex like root zone interactions and soil biology.
so you can see how a bunch of stoned and for the most part barely educated on the topic growers would end up getting a lot of things wrong, most of us are self taught to one degree or another, when i first started there was only the mel frank and ed rosenthal books around and they were hardly that helpful, maybe the connell clark book was out but i couldnt make heads or tails of that for years...and now we have a whole new generation of growers who learned to grow from places like this so theres still plenty of grower myth and legend left over...but now we are entering an era where real science on druyg cannabis can be done and since theres a shit ton of money to be made we will see it being study from the botanical and horticulture perspective....
The pics of the books i posted were mostly just budporn strain guides. I do have a lot more educational stuff. Ive read a fair amount of decent literature on cannabis. Sure there is some fluff to sort through, and due prohibition, your right, there isnt a lot of hard data yet. Although that is changing by the day. For instance, a proffesor Karl Hilwig, did a study on landrace cannabis in 2005, that would blow minds of people who are intrested in cannabis geneology. I wont get into here, but lets just saying nobody is really smoking Sativas. Unless your smoking some hemp. All drug type cannabis are indicas. The skinny leaf tall ladies, and the short broad leafers. Wanna talk about information overload? His study blew my mind. But your right, it seems not many people/stoners care about this stuff. But its important, whether people give a shit or not. I wont get into why. But it is.
and go ahead, give me my neg rep. Ive been getting hit everytime i post in this thread. I get it, you want me to shut up. Guess what, im not gonna. And especially not cause you fucking negative rep me. That doesnt mean shit to me. Unless theres a cash for rep points exchange program i dont know about. And i dont think there is. So i that case, i dont git a fuck, keep on with it! Ill smoke some glue and feel bad for your hate-filled self.
and i could be wrong, but i think im the only person ever to get neg rep in this thread? At least on purpose. A distinguished privelage in my eyes
