nope. my mom wouldn't let him hand out the punishment. his talks were painful enough for me. sometimes i wish he HAD beat my ass. his belt was about 2 inches wide. moms was a stringy little narrow nylon dress belt that left welts everywhere it landed...and she wouldn't whip us until she was so mad that she was crying.

people nowawdays would call CPS....but what they did was just good parenting in retrospect Im sure.

i have no doubt that my parents had a positive effect on me. i cringe thinking what i could have turned into. basic training in the USAF helped too. never had much use for what i learned from my parents in dealing with my kids though. i had the speeches down pat, was ready for anything. then...both of them were angels growing up. no sneaking out, no drinking, nothing. absolute 180 from me at their age. wtf... lol.
