Damn, love this thread! Very nice, Khaleel and all.. I've always heard some saying fluoros wont grow and flower decent mj. All of you put thier remarks to shame! <3 Must try this some time... T5 and CFL ftw.. Until LEDs come out cheaply (;

i'm growin' under CFL's. it's been in flower now for 31 days under nothing
but CFL's until day before yesterday when i added a 150 Vapor Tight to
the mix.
i decided to buy the Vapor Tight 'cause everyone says how much better
the buds are and for $20.00, i just couldn't pass up the oportunity to find
out if it's true, lol.
anyway, heres the bud, and like i said, this was with CFL's only.

sorry, lol, didn't see the second question. and all you need is a seed, a
couple of CFL's and the determination to learn how to become self-sufficient.
you'll make mistakes, you'll kill some seedlings, you'll suffer set-backs but, if
you are determined, you will make yourself study and you will keep trying 'til
you get there.
and bro, there are a LOT of people here who really know thier stuff and who are
more than willing to help anyone willing to help themselves.
lol, so pop a few beans bro and lets get started!

well to grow this way you just need some cfl bulbs and dirt, water, the usual to grow any plant.
the weight is definitely less. substantially less, probably 50% or more. but you do get very high quality nugs. some even say you get closer trichome formation with the cooler lights. some disagree. idk. here are a few of my favorite pics from a year of growing floro's - decide for yourself lol

all my plants were veg's under a 200w cfl and bloomed under 4 T5's, bloom spectrum (red)
can't say about the others. i'm sure there's more info in this thread somewhere if you feel like looking...

I really get a kick out of seeing everyones CFL grows. Especially since I opted to get Sunleaves 125w CFL's ($55/ea. Sunleaves.com). The 2700k puts out 10,500 lumens each and the 6400k put out 9,000 lumens each !!! I have 2 of each, but during bloom I will use 2 of the 2700K along with 1 of the 6400K. Make my own CFL Hortilux with both colors !! lol I have the lights screwed into pre-wired Mogul sockets ($12.50/ea.) and hanging vertically. Also, Sunleaves has a 200w and 300w CFL for veg that put out 12,000 and 18,000 lumens respectively ! But I'd rather use 2 - 125w at 9,000 lumens each and save 50w over the 300w alone PLUS I get more light dispersment.
My tent is a Homebox XS (2ft x 2ft x 4ft) with temps around 79F and 55% humidity with just a 4" inline fan (65cfm) up top in the back for exhaust. I just cracked 5 Mazar beans for my first indoor grow in 3 gal grow bags. 3 parts Pro-Mix HP, 1 part Perlite and 1 part Worm Castings. Using Pure Blend Pro nutes along with their Cal-Mag, Clearex and Liquid Karma. The Pro-Mix HP already has some perlite and dolomite lime added too. My run off stays at 6.0ph and I use 6.0ph water.
My only gripe about all the pics and talk in this thread is the lack of information in MOST:
Type of soil or soiless mix
Ferts
Grow style (SOG, SCROG, FIM, TOPPED, LST, etc.)
Container size
Height before AND after bloom
Dry yield
These are important bits of info that ppl want to/should know in order to make a sound judgment about using CFL's or ANY light source for that matter, not just a bunch of awesome pics. Just my honest opinion!

Once I get these lights and tent dialed in, I won't be using freebie Mazar's (still have 5 more). I'll bust my TGA gear:
