whats happening p'fan!
good to see your post,brother
yeah this year has totally flown by and its been quite a ride
are you guys doing thanksgiving at home or going someplace for turkey day?
sounds like you have been working hard and deserve a break
keep us posted on the job situation
two years isnt that long, especially when you are uprooting the family and moving to another state
the boys are still young so hopefuly it wont disrupt them too much, but moving is always a hassle
have you ever been to utah?
yeah man, i saw the thread about dans buds, the guys is legend around these parts
it is nice that the icmag community is remembering him in such a positive way and i hope his family is doing all right

this year we are hosting thanksgiving and my buddy isnt going to be deep frying any birds this thanksgiving
i usually just make my turkey in the oven; i give her a good rub and then tent it under foil for most of the day
im pretty by the book when it comes to the big meal but i like to get creative with the leftovers
one of my favorites is to take some left over turkey meat (cut into bite size), stuffing and some mashed potatoes and form balls, roll them in bread crumbs and bake
you can use up a lot of your left overs and they go really fast
what are some of your favorite recipes fiddy?
how do you deal with left overs?

and what about teh rest of you goons? any plans for thanksgiving
how do you like to cook the turkey, or do you even turkey bro?
/one of the best thanksgivings i ever has was mexican food
one more day to go fellas and its the weekend
we got this!

Hey Pop Rocks, we are doing the Thanksgiving shuffle. Dinner with my family at a local campground, then dinner at my mother in laws. I told my wife today that I want to do Thanksgiving at our house next year. I am not so fond of the campground Thanksgiving ( my parents have an RV and like to use as an excuse to take out the Rv). It would be different if we were going to Dumont, or Glamis.

We usually do Mexican food for xmas. Tamales, rice beans, chille verde and chille con Carne.

The job situation is weird, I am getting pieces of information from co-workers. Some people say it's not going to happen. I am somewhat ok with the 2 years, depending on the timeline. I have heard 10 months and I heard 18 months. My wife is going to ne finished with her bachelors in 18 months. Another 2 years for her master's. So it could work out

I am not thrilled with the idea of my children dating or marrying mormons. So Utah will be temporary.

Greetings friends.
I hope everyone is finishing off your weeks on a high note (get it? "High" note LOL).
I've been busy in the jungle doing a 2 part harvest and I finished the last of the trimming this morning. Harvest report coming soon. Now that the hard work is over it's about time to enjoy some rest. I was pretty impressed with one of the phenos of the granola funk that I've been running the last two flower cycles but more on that when I put up a harvest report.

@Packerfan. I hadent heard about Dan but that is sad news. He was a legend around here and he will be missed for sure. I have the last of my Tony Green gorilla bubble plants in veg now and will be flowering them in my next run. These are the original bx1f1's that started it all. I guess this run will be dedicated to Dan, and to Tony who seems to be taking this news pretty tough.
I have heard that Salt Lake City is a beautiful place but it can be tough for outsiders there, but that was a long time ago and things may have changed. Moving out of state is always an adventure. Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be good to have some change in scenery.
Glad you got a good granola funk, one of mine is looking good in jars and might be a keeper, we will see.

@pop_rocks. I really like hosting party's at the holidays too. I feel like it's the ultimate form of giving to bring people over and feed them. When I lived in CA my bro in law use to have thanksgiving every year for all of us that didn't have family living close so that we could feel the love.
I actually haven't cooked many turkeys. The ones I've cooked I brined in a cooler and them cooked in the oven as well. Keeping the bird moist can be a challenge and tenting with foil is a great method. I really like your idea to make balls out of the leftovers. I might have to try that sometime. I like to mix the leftovers together and make a bowl of goodness or even a pot pie with them. A good turkey sandwich hits the spot too.

@Badfishy. Glad all is well in the south brother. Good luck with the LVTK!

right on rocker', it is great that you and the mrs volunteered to hlp people register to vote
we dont really talk a lot of politics here but as long as everyone can be cool i dont see why not
i know several of our friends here are active on other threads about politics and we dont all share the same views
but this dosent change how i think of them as people and regardless of their views i still count them among my friends
stay hydrated brother, its been super dry
how are the plants coming along?

I agree, my closest friend here in Cali and I are total opposites when it comes to Politics, but we are still close like brothers. I wish America would get over it's self and just accept that it's ok not to agree, it's not ok to be uncivil to each other. Anyway, enough of that :).

The plants, glad you asked, are coming along, just over 45 days into flower, I think I may have been over aggressive with my BB, I have some claw and tip burn showing, also the leaves are waxy looking, so the last two watering days I have gone with straight PH'd water. This weather is crazy dry, my tent has been at 15% humidity all week, guess mold won't be an issue. I pulled out the loupe and trichomes are gin clear so seems to be on schedule.

Quick question on viewing trichomes, how quickly do they change from cloudy to amber? My strains history is to be around 70 days of flower, so I think I should begin to flush in a couple weeks, but I don't want to do it too soon either, will the Trichomes tell me all I need to know? It's been so long since my last harvest, I forget how quickly the trichomes changed.

Thanks in advance - Rocker.

Greetings friends.

I hope all had a good weekend and your weeks are off to a great start.

@rocker. I'm glad you liked the vid. It great to see people who are unfazed by inhospitable conditions.
We have mostly avoided politics in the jungle but as long as we can respect each others opinions and the right to those opinions I've got no issues with it.

I'm with you, varied opinions makes the world go round, that's why travel is so cool, you get to see stuff you don't have in your area, maybe learn a new idea.

My niece is an avid surfer, she was a life guard in HS and became a marine biologist in college, she lived Southern Chile after school doing research, ice diving in some crazy locations, I shared the video with her and she loved it, I will see her over Thanksgiving and I am really excited about that, she is back in school, post grad up in Oregon, she surfs there but it is no comparison to Surfer Dan. I also sent it to a buddy of mine that moved to Michigan's UP.
Hope you get some Sunshine soon to melt away the first snow before winter comes on strong. Looking forward to your harvest report too. I have roughly 25-30 days on my grow still, it's getting exciting to know the end is near.

Have a fun weekend all you other jungle dwellers.

Thanks fiddy. Long ways to go as I think I flipped the 7th. Has stretched A LOT over the past week and a half or whatever. Put her outside and getting worried she will be taller than the plants I have surrounding her... may need to snap a few tops n lower her a bit. Have number 2 which I’m going to up pot this weekend the flower and in a week or 2 put the pure affie into flower. Then will properly veg my first cross. While vegging her, I’m going to plant a few autos

I have to agree, its crazy people can't discuss politics without getting angry. I have an aunt who gets all worked up over it. I love her but we can't talk politics. I am a libertarian/conservative, more libertarian. She's a lefty, mostly because she's lesbian, not out of the closet though.I find it odd, I was raised around many, my mom was a hairdresser for 20 years, never bothered me.I am surprised that more pot heads aren't libertarian. I think it is because the youngsters can't remember when weed was illegal. I remember code words, beepers and brick weed. I haven't seen weed grown outside of the USA, in 10 years.

Would BB be blueberry? I have been itching to try some of DJ blueberry. We used to get grocery store bags full from a buddy that lived in the local mountains. It was the most flavorful weed I can remember. I think I may be competent enough to try such a finicky strain now. I popped a pack of bodhis blueberry hashplant, but killed them all. Over watering. My first attempt at growing from seed.

Hey Packerfan, I can get passionate too at times but I try to remember, we really all want the same thing, most of us anyway, the fringes are a minority, I believe we mostly all bunch up, center Left or Center Right, but not so far apart that we can't find common ground.

BB was a reference to Bloom Boost, as I mentioned, I noticed some clawing, some burn and waxy looking leaves, all of which I think was being to aggressive, or having my bloom boost to strong. something different on all three strains, so I am flushing them out and will go light with the additives, moving forward.

I have 3 strains going, 2 each of Jack Herer, Green Crack and Super Lemon Haze, my 6 girls, a play on the old TV show. Yep I also remember bricks, and mold in the center, lol.

Check out DJs happy pussy. You will be impressed. I have a few DJ crosses from a member here, I tried To germ a few and wasn’t successful. I’m sure it was me, not the genetics. I think we will be moving soon and don’t want to start anything I can’t finish so they are on the back burner. Have a good friend who is starting his room up again. In the past we have done a split of plants I have given him, so that may be an option too.

i like the idea of pot pies, fiddy!
we are def going to make some of those man!
/i will be making extra turkey gravy just for this
its fun to host, but the mrs can get a little over the top with insisting everything is perfect
im going to do all i can to help out but i am also going to give her he room to go nuts

i totally agree with you rocker that the fringes are the minority, but they are the ones that get people going
most people are closer to the center but its the radicals that get all the headlines
the thing that gets me is how wrapped up some people get when it comes to dividing along party lines; as if both the dems and republics arent both out for themselves
it would be nice if we could have a real states man (or woman!) rise up and reunite us as a country
we are all americans first and foremost

its friday night folks and the party is about to get started!

Bigger issue in my opinion is Dem/Rep left/right are just two sides of the same fucking coin... hope all is well Pops.

Happy Saturday friends.

@rocker. You are so right about meeting people and getting to know what they think being a great part of traveling. I've never been out of the 48 but I've been around quite a few states and met a lot of people. I'm always interisting in hearing about what life is like in other places. One of my favorite things about living in the Bay Area was all the people from diffrent country's and all the various believes they had.
That is so cool that you have been sharing the surf vid. I'm glad people are enjoying it. Your buddy in the UP must be stoked they just approved recreational cannabis there a couple weeks ago. The UP is a beauty place and I'd love to move there someday.
I will try to get to the harvest report this weekend.
I'd think that it would be fairly strain dependent on how long it takes trichomes to change from cloudy to amber. For me the best sign that my plants are getting close is cloudy trichomes and the start of the swelling of the buds. If a plant is genetically predisposed they will start to foxtail. Once I see the swell start I know I'm usually a couple weeks from the end. I prefer mostly cloudy trichs in most of the strains I've grown.

@Badfishy. I always plan on a 250% streach indoors and I'm happy when they only double in hight. It sounds like you've got some great things going in your garden and 2019 should start off nice and green for you.
I feel you on left/right being a two sided coin and neither doing a good job of really representing most of us. I hope someday a more centered party of common sense that the real majority of people can get behind. In the mean time I just vote to keep things balanced so that neither party gets too much power or stays in control too long.

@pop_rocks. Pot pies are great comfort food and you can get the frozen crust if you don't want to hassle with it. Extra gravy is a great idea no mater what, I could drink gravy I love it so much.
My wife and I can get a little stressed when getting ready for guests as well but it always works out and everyone has fun. You are so right to help but also to not crowd her.
Y'all are so right about the extremes of the left and right getting all the press and attention and it makes it look like everyone is a nut. I truly believe that most of us just want to get allong and make the world a better place for all, we might just have a little diffrent opinion of how to do it. It is so easy to see when someone has just bought into one side or the other and dosent think for themselves at all. Sad.

Hey pops... just the family thing. Holidays are tough with all the family requirements. Should feel blessed to have everybody close, but becomes a huge pain in the ass getting kids ready then rushing one place then rushing through dinner to rush another place and pretend to be hungry. Then it’s late and have bedtime duties... but I’m glad they are around

Fiddy- no doubt politics are bullshit. I just get tired of the ‘political correctness’ bullshit. I will NEVER be in a position where politics look out for me... I make ‘too much’ for any help, and not enough to have politicians work for me. Part of the forgotten class aka the middle class. In NO way looking for sympathy, but here is an example.. when the hurricane came through, I couldn’t work, yet bills kept piling up, rent food insurance, childcare, blah blah blah. So as an absolute LAST resort, i applied for a little HELP. Was told I make too much money and wasn’t eligible. I was taken back when denied and asked what I could do. The woman, mind you a govt employee, told me I could quit my job or find cheaper housing... i lost my shit. Told her I’m not trying to LIVE off the system just need a little help... she told me that isn’t how things are meant to work.... fuuuuuuuug

Good afternoon Badfishy.
I know I certainly don't feel represented by my representatives. Your story is a great example of just the kind of shit that makes me cringe when I hear it. It's almost as if they are trying to get people dependent on the system. Once they do that they will have the power to control them. What use to be the middle class are becoming the working poor.

Their end game imho IS socialism. Take a look at inner city areas where they DO depend on the system mostly literal shitholes. I have/had NO desire to depend on system, just needed a helping hand. There were plenty of options for my landlord with unquestioned loans for ‘repairs’ and such but for those caught in the cycle, nothing. Oh well onwards and upwards

Legal weed just means integrated into a system to keep everyone in a proverbial rat race. I don't want to add confusion but none of us (this is a general term, I am assuming that mentally ill or needy or homeless population is a % minority) need help, really, so much as what is perceived or held over us. Taxes and bills can all but consume a person sometimes to the point where it may be difficult to discuss or convince them otherwise. People whose bank accounts are not giving them any trouble are less interested in any socialism or hand out or help as far as I can tell. You can't have a mansion without peasants to tend it for you. And taught to believe that's the best way. It is most certainly designed that way, with intent. In the inner cities is where you see the separation so clearly, haves and have nots or do nothings with large bank accounts and then street sweepers or restaurant workers. This is kind of awkward to say but I've seen my local inner city change in my lifetime, and to put it bluntly I am not a fan. It is baffling what assigns a person to reside in a place and hold a certain position or job. The metric, or the similarity, is it actually a requirement that new hires move from far away? Meaning that the newcomers, many of them new city's inhabitants, could categorically like or not like me that's a possibility. It is all but painfully obvious. And is that weird when you see a bunch of people and most just moved there? I'm almost afraid I'll promote it further but if you are an Alabama or Texas fan, and enjoy drinking several pitchers of beer and eating smoked pork ribs on Friday nights while watching the ball game, that seems popular among at least one crowd I saw. I've seen it before, but not really my cup of tea. Actually reminds me of a frat party where I would rather not see any of these people, not even sure if I like people, one of those moments. Not what I think of California lifestyle hmm.

Well, jungle mates.

I am stoked for a short week and a long weekend. We have been busy as hell. I am pretty excited, I should have the wife's car paid off before the end of the year. No more car payments, woo-hoo.

I am going to be harvesting in a few days. Can't wait. I am sick of buying weed.

In my opinion legal weed is just a tax grab. Many people in California like beer and good bbq. Considering how close the Senate race in Texas, and the governors race in Alabama, they are basically purple states now. Their are a ton of people leaving California for Texas.

I agree the elites employ peasants, they love having illegal immigrants to manipulate. It's a damn shame, they claim to care about immigrants. What they really care about is cheap nanny's, and landscapers. Especially since they can always threaten to call ICE if you try to quit, or ask for a reasonable salary. To me this is the elitist California way of life. The middle class be damned.

All good news, yes a short week and I am about an hour away from day 1 of this week done and over with. I was so happy when I paid off my truck, I now have 2 old but paid off trucks, my neighbor just got a new rolling Wifi, hotspot truck, he can start it by remote in his house, every gadget imaginable give me my 20 year old GMC, I want no part of that type of computerized vehicle, lol.
And Harvesting is the best part of the year, I am a few weeks away and am very excited too.
