Just for clarification:
slang
1 /slæŋ/ Show Spelled[slang] Show IPA
–noun 1. very informal usage in vocabulary and idiom that is characteristically more metaphorical, playful, elliptical, vivid, and ephemeral than ordinary language, as Hit the road.
2. (in English and some other languages) speech and writing characterized by the use of vulgar and socially taboo vocabulary and idiomatic expressions.
3. the jargon of a particular class, profession, etc
And in today's words, I ain't "butt-hurt" or someone might say "U mad". No, not all. I'm just trying right to get something right. I got my bachelor's in education and I kinda prefer feeling I was being told right after all that work, and that I also tell people the right thing. Using the accepted word like that is language misuse, not slang. Slang is usually a totally made up word. I suppose you can look at it whatever way you want though and the definition can fit what you want it to.
But I especially got a kick out of the guy who wanted to school me on how slang has always been around and used throughout the ages. In the words of the late great Dandy Don Meredith, "That's a firm grasp of the obvious you got there." Someone not quite so witty (like me) might have said something like, "No shit Sherlock".
Joe Pesci FTW.
I never said I didn't understand. I just would like to get SOMETHING right. But you're right, I suppose. In YOUR mind anyway. I just personally don't like THAT one. It all is an opinion pretty much. That's MY opinion. And you know what they say about opinions. They're like assholes. Everybody's got one and they ALL stink.
