East Coast Smog (Testing ECSD x SSSDH)

Hi again, the fellas at Connoisseur were so happy with the quick start to my Super Strawberry Smog Test Grow, that they graced me with a second pack of testers that arrived with at the same time as some beans from Karma.

I'd like to thank Connoisseur both for their generosity and their faith in me as a potential tester :tiphat:

The seeds went into the water today, we'll see in the morning what has begun to emerge!

As always, seeds are being started using my tried and true water-dome-soil method, outlined here.

Enjoy! :smoke:

I'm subbed up for this one. Sounds like an excellent strain, and Connoisseur puts out quality as well IMO. I enjoyed growing their grandoggy purps a little while back and currently have one strawberries and cream in flowering now that's looking/smelling nice as well. Best of luck with these man.

18 hour mark, unlike most of my recently received testers, these are not immediately splitting and sending out taproots, though they have swelled a bit, i'll continue to wait and observe.

The 18 hours between my last post and the image below were full of activity!

5/6 have split with emerging taproots, into the plugs they go!

Yep, i've already had to add more soil to the tops of the containers to keep the stretch from tipping them babies over, they're screaming "freedom!" with tips skywards.

Lots of things to do over the last few days, tons of stuff to harvest and sort, as some people have seen already on the shelf ;)

Unfortunately, all this resulted in some lost images for the trial, namely those images for days 10, 12, and 13.

Following are the images for day 11, 14, and 15.
Day 11

Day 14

Day 15

The babies are dividing clearly into thin and wide leafed groups, can't wait for them to be mature enough to start giving off odors.

These beans performed fairly consistently, despite differences in leaf structure, the lemony ECSD mother definitely dominates the flavor, but is sweetened and enhanced by the SSSDH genetics.

The plants were pulled at 75 days of 12/12, overall they were healthy, grew quickly, and yielded well, but the stretch on them was definitely a bit excessive, and they showed slight sensitivity issues to PM, but this is a known issue with ECSD, and to be expected.

They showed no signs of herming at day 75, so I have no reason to think they couldn't go longer and be ripened more thoroughly. Side by side on the shelf with ECSD, most people prefer this strain, mainly for its sweetness and larger buds than the original SD typically produces.

I am happy to give these beans an enthusiastic endorsement, buy away with confidence!

My shutterbugging shall resume shortly, and this thread will be updated with images of the pheno we kept in a mature state, as well as dried flower and concentrate pics :)
