Hello IC Mag. Here's my DinaFem Power Kush Scrog grow. Turns out there's 3 PKs and a Chernobyl, I got em mixed up in the clone box. Too late now. My screen is 45"x52" anout 15 square feet. and in veg im running a 12 bulb T5HO 640 Watts. Im running air cooled Raptor 8's 1000w Hortilux bulbs in flower on SG magnetic ballasts. Ill be using the Dutch Master Gold line up on these lady's thanks to my awesome friend Joe over at DM. Thanks dude. The system is RDWC 20 gallons custom built current culture with a biofilter medium in the control bucket that i inoculate with orca benificials. i also run a custom built 1/2 HP chiler and maintain water temps at 67.2. ill run the nutrient line up at half strength and follow Dutch masters online nutrient calculator. i will never go above 1.2 EC. ill have lots of pics for ya guys to check out too.

Full Dm lineup

4 site current cuture

1/2 HP Chiller w/ Res and stainless cool coils

clones after being mainlined, i toped once for a nice y then toped two more times. for 4 total main stalks. makes a nice even canopy.
i normally do this when there rooting just to get all that stress out of the way.

Added the new this week cause they got bushy pretty quick.

did some defoliation of some fans to encourage internodel branching

here you can see how i split my main stalk up.

these girls are getting bushy quick. i sure with that one Chernobyl would catch up

I trimmed more undergrowth and cut away more fans in the canopy

well its the end of week 4 veg so i think its time to take the screen off and move em over. who ever said ya cant move a scrog is bullshitting haha. ya keep em under the net never weave. and always keep your screen withing 8-12" of the bucket.

check these bad bushy girls out. mmmmmhmmm.

And some root porn. Orca is really doing well.

If there's any master scrog heads or big time rdwc guys out there that could give me some tips or maybe point out something im fucking up on. please lmk. On Dinafems site its says Power kush yields 800-1000 Grams per meter square. So its said to be a big yielder. Im not getting my hopes up tho. Im shooting for 3-4 oz per plant, I know my scrog skills are not the best but i did the best i could do. i top off the unit to the bottom of the net pot and in about 3 days they drink it down about 2-3" i monitor my EC everyday and it seems they eat up about .1 EC a day so 50 ppm on the 500 scale a day, i wouldn't consider that a drastic drop so ive come to the conclusion that there drinking water and nutrients at about the same rate but a tad little more nutes. id say im dialed in. even tho those requirements will change as the plant progresses . but i think the 50 ppm a day range is good. if it starts dropping say 100 ppm a day ill up the EC of the nutrient solution a little higher until there back to consuming 50 ppm a day. i top off every 3 days via float valve so there is some fluctuations in water level but its the only way to really dial it in. i top off with r.o water and nutrients every other day to maintain a stable EC threwout the grow. I Do drain res biweekly with fresh nutrients to avoid any imbalances in micro/macro nutrients. oh yea ph is super stable but does drift up over 5-6 days so i ride the PH wave and hit all those nice spots ;-) or so. i set it to 5.5 it drifts to 6.1 or so. then i top off with nutes and it drops it back down. ro really is awesome. no cal mag either with DM Gold nutrients. i heard i should keep it at 6.0 when they flower cause more p and k are absorbed..

another question. there is all these tiny nodes that stretched to the top but there branches are so small should i trim those out as well? and lollipop and defoliarize more twards the top of the screen or do ya think i got it good enough?

Also, I had a quick question on your Nutes. I too am running the Dutch Master line, though I was wondering if h202 would affect any of the nutes/additives. I am using because I dont have a chiller and my res temps are like 75-78 and im trying to increase oxygen in the water.

Do you know if it will effect? You probably dont use since you have a chiller, im really considering that too.

Thanks

The only way to increase dissolved oxygen is to decrease your temp. I have ran at 78 degrees with no root rot but growth was horribly slow. The only reason I dont use DM Zone or h2O2 is because im running benificial bacteria and fungi. They protect your roots from the bad bacteria and break down dead organics into nitrate for your plant to take up. Peroxide will kill all this and oxidized chelates in the nurtients making it unstable. Save that for cleaning up. Pick up some orca and some lava rock and throw a couple pieces in each of your buckets. Bacteria like to cling to surface area so lava rock being very porous has alot. Its a home for you Bennies. I use matala biomedia in my control bucket for this. Never rinse your biomedia with tap water or let it dry out that will kill the good guys you strived to populate.

Well here is Day 8 of Flower. These girls are really filling out fast. I've supercropped the piss out of a lot of the branches and have been rearranging tops like crazy. in an effort to minimize node spacing I've switch to a 7,200k MH bulb. hopefully this week these girls stack nice tight nodes. I've also been trying to run a lil bit warmer temp during the night cycles and cooler during day cycles because ive heard that that will also help keep nodes tight.. and then theres the poor Chernobyl. tightest nodes ever and just don't wanna stretch, the PKs already moved in on her territory and are choking her out. i really wanted to bump the screen up a inch or two but ill loose the Chernobyl in all the foliage :tiphat:

did the final under screen trimming today. hopefully this slows them down and the blue spectrum from the MH stacks those nodes. check it!
