Different Brands of Cold Water Trichome Filtration Kits

first off, I've never bought any kinda bags (borrow buddies' if I need),, but I can't believe this is even a discussion really. Whatever your feelings about 'the man' are, I don't think there's any doubt that his bags are the highest-quality, and most well designed bags available. There's a reason he and the co. have been around this long, and that his name is pretty much synonymous w/bubblehash.

bubbleman, obviously don't know enough bout waterhash to argue w/you, but don't you think it's possible that taste may be superior when only one bag is used? That's my only complain bout bubble (and why I mainly smoke bho) is that the taste..depending on strain and maker...often seems dull and dilluted down. Imagine one bag might keep more of the tasty compounds in tact?

Very good point sleestak, you are correct in that the longer the material soaks in water, the more of the water solubles will be leached away.
So losing valuable tastes and smells from the strain can occur.
However this is not to say you cann't drain your bucket of its water, and pull your bags one by one, with little to any water present.
When doing this you will need a spray bottle, to collect the bubble in each bag, as well as spray thru to the otherside of the bag, which may have inadvertantly collected some bubble from the bag under it> ( hope you understand what i mean here)

However When i first started with bubblehash, the majority of my competition was in amsterdam, where for what ever reason, some of the first water hash i saw didnt have any of the flavours or smells that impressed me over the years ( later)
The first hash i ever made using ice bags, was breeder steve's shiskaberry, and this bubble stunk as strong if not stronger than the herb itself.
I had introduced myself to a strain finaly with alcohol soluble terpenes. These do not get washed away in the water wash.
Some of the stinkiest strains produce these types of terpes.
RENE being the first that really stepped up and took water hash to the next level. (In my opinion)

Now for anyone worried about losing valuable terp's, you dont have to soak your buds in a chemical solvents to get them. You can merely do a light dry sifting of your material before you water wash.
REconstituting this dry sift in with your bubble at around a 20% dry sift 80% bubble ratio. IF your dry sift is of extremly low quality i would drop that percent down to 10%. Will give you taste, without sacrificing your quality.

two more cents from me...

Bubble man

Ps, thanks for the kind words sleestak, every so often its nice to be appreciated.

Ive had the 5 and 20 gallon, 7 bag bubble bag kits for over six years now.
These things are as good as new after hundreds of runs.

*******Bonus: It's a LOT cheaper to buy two bags, than SIX,and the results with two bags is superior, every time.
The only thing superior about using 2 bags, is the time and money you save.
That being said the 20 gallon, 7 bag kit pays for itself with ONE run.
Remember its not what is in your 190, 160 and 120 bags, its what isnt in your 73 and 45 bags.

BMan,
What I was talking about was a "speed run",that happens when there's too much bulk to process for anybody's time constraints.
From what I posted,I looked like an idjit, and felt like one when I read what you wrote afterwards. 2 vs.7=duh.
Brainus farticus. :D

lol, i reckon your making the mistake we all done when first using the bubblebags - are you just letting the bags drain normally? (drip drip?),
what you need to do is hold the bubble b with both hands and jerk the bag up 6 inch quick and drop it 6 inch quick (keep repeating this), doing this lifts the resin glands off the screen and lets the water drain nice + quick, you can fully drain the 25u in 10 seconds or so doing it this way:yes:

Hello all from my first post here at icmag.

There is a french company (POLYFABRIC) selling good bag kits and single meshes here in Europe. Bought my 27 micron mesh there and it works great. I know some other good opinions on their 5 bag (5 gallon) kits too. But at the present time they seem to have 3 bag kits only...

Hello all from my first post here at icmag.

that french company is selling the same generic 'ebay bags' as all the others on ebay... they're only doing 3 bag sets because the easily found chinese manufacturer has a 500 (ea mesh) bag minimum run and they probably didn't want to get their feet that wet. ask me how i know. those bags are single stitched and aren't anywhere near the quality of bubble bags or payload, etc. they're single stitched at the bottom.. lol. They work - but for how long. i do like how Polyfabric had the mfg stitch a custom tag for them.. makes 'em look pertier.

Bubble Man you say you're in it for the health and importance of clean, pure smoke, and it's not about the money. I'm curious why you're selling your bags for so much, then. Sure you have the name, sure you BROUGHT the idea over to N.America and were first to market... but maaaan... I want to know your profit margin! If it's important that people have access to clean, pure smoke why do you price your bags at a level that sends people scrambling to look for (mostly crappy) alternatives?

I think we're probably a lot alike -- we appreciate the medicinal and spiritual value of this miraculous plant. I'm a CA prop 215 patient and I see the good being done and the people being helped by cannabis all the time. I grow my own meds 100% organic (just as you promoted in the Vancouver medical scene) and realize the importance of ensuring cannabis is of the highest (literal pharmaceutical) quality.

As a strong willed activist I want safe access for all -- the means sometimes foregoing greed and misopportune profit. Don't get me wrong - profit is important.. but excessive greed will be the downfall of humanity (hell, look around at the current economy and state of affairs globally - you can't argue how and why we got here.. greed).

So Bubble Man.. straight up, with all due respect (you did bring it to the 'masses' on this side of the pond) WHY THE INSANE PRICE? How do you justify it. I mean, really truly factually justify it. In all your interviews you say it's not about the money, it's about clean pure for all... so why the $280 price tag? I know the answer, it's simple. I'm wondering what yours is.

where is bubbleman he hasn't posted in a month! Maybe he sold 18 sets of his bags and took a $5,000 vacation. :yoinks: Man it must be nice to pay the price of a gram and sell for the price of an ounce. Genius.

I have payload bags....the 4 set. I think they were 120 dollars. I have nothing else to compare them too, but my hash is stellar;)
Gave us a ton of hash to give our family for Christmas:gift:
:thanks: Payload

*Bubbleman....we're gonna be trying yours next. I'll try to remember to post about any noticable differences in final product.

hey, which size bags do you have there Miss B?

I was wondering which sizes to get and which not to bother with as I'm proper skint..lol

Far as I can tell its the 73micron that the "main" bag right? ... but which others do I "need"? (I've no interest in the "green/cooking grade" residues :) )

ill tell you guys an important thing about all of these bags if you buy a crappy bag you are going to get all these little peices of nylon in your hash and it is nearly impossable to get it all off i would buy bubble bags never had a big issue with any nylon in the hash maby like such a small amount but ive seen hash that has beenmade witha cheap bag and its got nylon all over it so you might save like 70 bucks but you will most likely be smoking on more nylon
