I am pretty sure what the consensis* will be... but here is is anyway.

I have passed on most of my keepers to a friend. Having just moved and starting from scratch again I was thinking of getting a few back.

the problem is... my friend has been battling the borg for YEARS... sometimes to the point where he is Vacuuming the webs off.

Is it even worth trying to get them back?

Or should I start anew from seed in a clean environment?

Obviously if I did I would Quarantine them for a long period first....

Thanks for the info yourcorpse!

I have read that thread as well as several others that talk about quarantining and ridding cuts from the BORG... I have an idea of how I would do it.

I am looking for opinions.... possibly from some with experience in this area... to help me decide. :D

Here is a list of the cuts I have passed. I will try to find and post pics later...

The White
pre 98 bubba
GDP
Geisha #5 (h3ad seeds, from seed, crazy yielder, ooozes amber sap while ripening....)
Burl Ives (High yield frosty, Mikado S1)
SDog #2 (jlp high yield diesel pheno "redjar diesel")
SDog #4 (jlp high yield Kush pheno, "creeper kush")
SSSDHxJack#22 pheno #9 (Karma Genetics, from seed)
SSSDHxJack#22 pheno #2 (Karma Genetics, from seed)

Those are the ones I can remember right now... the ones I would be interested in getting back.

passed a few of these on to others not sure weather or not they still have them? if you do.. let me know!

haha!

Start new. Its simply not worth it. Unless you can separate them and keep the cut quarantined until you can guarantee it is borg free.

Cheers,

With proven genetics like that, setting up a small chamber to de-mite them in would be worth it. It might require a couple different miticedes(sp?) but I think it would be worth it.

It's a bitch but you can defeat them, the fact that you are starting at a new location makes a HUGE difference and will make things much easier for you. Get floramite, along with neem and some safer soap. Hit the small cuts with one of each every week, and every day take them over to the sink and wash any eggs (bottom of leaves along the main vein) or bugs off under running water. That's how I got rid of em (and without the floramite, but I imagine that will help a lot). Keep everything super clean and keep with preventative sprayings for a while, you'll be fine.

Start new if you want, but in this situation you have the upper hand against them imo.

if you badly want the genetics back then get some cuts, mites and all. cutting are small and easy to rid of mites as you can dip them and examine them closely. keep them separate from the rest of your grow...

Had a friend that was given some cuts, unfortunately they were infected with the BORG. The lesson learned was that it took 6 months to clean his plants of bugs. If I were to get freebies as cuts, I'd dip the whole plant in azatrol or azamax a couple times then quarantine. Just remember two mites can turn in to over a million in a month left unchecked. BEWARE THE BORG!!!!!!!

that is my nightmare!!

I have confidence that I can kill the bugs on the plants.

But what if a couple of eggs fall somewhere or get stuck to something.....

and If growing from seed.... how does one get the BORG in the garden?

where tf do they come from?

Of my rl friends every single one can trace their borg infections back to another grower. On here I've read about certain outdoor plants that they seem to like and them getting in on clothing or through intake etc.
I can't believe I'm hearing so many peeps say go for it, you guys have a lot of confidence. If I did go with it I'd use neem on all my vegging plants forever (would anyways). If you do go for it please say how you did it and how it worked out for ya.

get some azamax mix it in your nute solution and dip them in about 2 gallons of Azamax solution in a bucket repeat 3 times a week for 3 weeks no more borg

If I really wanted the cut back I would take it home wash it off with the sink, spray with SNS 217 and quarantine for a week or so. I would spray it again 7 days later with SNS 217 then with a neem application or two in between then get in there with a scope to see what's left (generally fried bugs and eggs hehe). This works for me (Plus Eagle 20EW to avoid PM) and I do it JUST IN CASE every time I bring a new cut in. Good luck.

Products that contain Thiacloprid and Methiocarb like provado will kill all mites.

Monitor the clones fore like 8 days after spaying.. if you see just one then spray again.

After that they are gorn.

You freind sould clean up the hole house nuke it.

Also newer walk in with outside shoes...

ohhh i mean get those strains back....

It really depends on what else you have going on in your grow area. You said you're starting from scratch. Do you have other plants currently? I have always found it easy to get rid of mites as long as you don't have lots of foliage to deal with.

If you are going to be starting with just your choice cuts, then it's easy to rid them of mites. Personally, I just rub the leaves every day, effectively smushing the mites. It only takes maybe 30 seconds per plant or so as long as they are small. Do this for a couple weeks and voila, problem solved. It's worked for me several times.

If you have a lot of plants already that you're starting up, then I personally would reconsider. I have effectively quarantined mite ridden plants in a different room and used the above strategy, but it is a risk. Good luck!

I certainly would NOT bring them into anyplace you wanted to grow long term.

Find a Neutral site devoid of vegetation and give them the 3 week treatment described a few times as above.

Captain JAcks dead bug brew, Pure Spray, etc.

DON"T bring them into your room knowingly.

Peace
