i follow Nancy Reagan's advice: just say "no" to drugs, with the corollary "know your chemist". i apply that to weed and shrooms, too.

like @imiubu i attend to my health via lifestyle. i switched to lo carb/healthy fat in sept 2018 and from running on glucose to running on ketones. lost 20 lbs = 4 pants sizes. bmi 21. more mental acuity.

started being more consistent with resistance training when i turned 65. added to 38 years of aerobics - 30 min NordicTrack 4 to 5 days per week.

now almost 73 i have never been healthier.

probably just genetic luck.

Interesting. Can you point me in the general direction of where you sourced such info?

FWIW;
Covid did get me thinking about living healthy and did not prompt me to just give up/ in to some fabricated 'cure' (vax) to come along and 'save' me.

The results being that I now think of my health differently and with ever more reverence. I chose to become/ remain naturally healthier rather than to wait/ hope for a jab to 'fix' years of less than optimal care of this ole body... naturally 'fixing' that in which could (possibly) make me more susceptible to the virus.

I instead chose to change my life style. I eat differently and have lost over 20lbs. I chose to stop
smoking cigs nearly 1yr. ago. I once again have a regular exercise routine also.

I won't rely upon the 'medical profession' to fix those old unhealthy habits, that's my job.
You chose to quit smoking at what age, yet wish to look down you nose at someone who has not ?
I find that human, real real human, and not so worthy of notice.

Possible, but I watched my mother take a similar path at about 60.
In her late eighties and doing very well now.

Won't return the hug, but will quite deliberately give you an upvote,
I do believe in a fair exchange, and would not wish you to feel short changed.

You make your own luck, mostly. We'll probably get to see social security and medicare collapse. That would be a good time to be healthy.

Heard that claim has been made since the inception of Social Security.
It is best thing that we as a people have ever done for ourselves.
Let's tax our corporate deadbeats and use that for medicare for all.
Should have had it a long time ago, but there were some who bucked
at the mere thought of blacks getting free health care.

The American terror of someone, especially a poor someone, getting something they didn't bust their ass for is so fucked up.

There's an idea that the silver spoon rich have somehow earned their money, when study after study shows that nearly all inherited it. And then, they continue to "earn" it by sitting in a room callously making decisions that affect many lives while showing all the empathy and kindness of a weasel in a henhouse.

How did your country get to where the very concept of sharing with those in need(some exceptions made if they are the right colour and worship the right invisible sky wizard) is considered a bad thing?

EWWW! Socialism! Everyone has a chance to grow up healthy and educated with an opportunity to make their lives better. How fucking gross!

Absolutely baffling.

(I'm not coming at you Gry, just responding/agreeing with you, while questioning why it can't go so much further. )

How things got to this point is the most interesting story.
The powers that be here decided they did not like the way things worked and decided to change the country to one more favourable to them a long time ago.
The Powell memo went hand in hand with the Regan Revolution, which was merely the continuance of the same actions behind the businessman's plot. This has been in motion a long long time.
They have gotten very close to their goal. I suppose the short response would have to be they spent a hell of a lot of money
over many years, and they put a lot of energy and effort into achieving what they seek.

Thank you.

Okay, you got the easy part. ;)

Now, what's the solution?

I received the second Moderna vaccination Wed afternoon. About 24 hours later I started to feel the onset of a fever. I went to bed around 2:30P and took two Tylenol. By 7:00P the fever broke and I slept through the night. I'm feeling good this morning.

I do not believe there is one.

I realized I'd come to a similar conclusion a year or so ago when a reddit account was banned. It clicked that I'd been posting along the same line as the Boogaloo Boys, basically saying that the current system was both unworkable and unfixable and the only solution was to tear it down.

The difference between me and the BB though, was that I was drawing conclusions from my view as an outsider, where those guys are actively working to provoke a second US Civil War.

The people behind the group that attacked the capital have been at this longer than most would be willing to believe.
