Hi folks.
Can anyone tell me WHERE i can get a large bottle of co2 from?.So far all i see avaliable is the 14lb bottles any larger and it seems there all the un-usable liquid co2 form.

cheers. eee.

Hmmm... non-liquid CO2 would be prohibitively expensive.... for more than a few days.

Much better off getting the regulator gear and using the liquid stuff.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

p.s. unless you wanted to use it for something other than growing?

Ahaa the HORTICULTURE regulator/controller i was thinking of getting states "For vapour release co2 only NOT suitable for liquid. The larger liquid form does seem much more readily available. So theres a *device avaliable that converts the liquid co2 to gas form is there?

thx hydro-soil.

[showing my inexperience here m8.:D]

*thats possible through certain regulators is it? so why would this HORTICULTRE regulator be GAS only when the liquids more avaliable!?

MORE cuCKOO stuff to deal with on planeT Zon 'MAYBE'. lol.:)

everybody uses liquid co2,,, you couldnt store enough to last for very long otherwise,,

i suggest buying the ecotechnics regulator,,

http://www.growell.co.uk/unis-co2-controller.html#tabs

you can buy 10 kg refills at many hydro stores or you can get much bigger bottles from specialist gas merchants,, id advise just going with the small bottles though as it weighs a ton,,

i dont understand why a company would state gas only rather than liquid because all you need to do is exert less pressure on the liquid for it to turn into a gas which is what regulators do,,,

Yea bud and that company is GROWELL! The reg' you talk of is EXACTLY whats responsible for me asking this question in the first place!.I have the 2011/2012 catalogue and the final two statements are : Use only with vapour release co2.&.Not suitable for use with liquid co2. !!!!??????!!!!!

lol marshmellows everywHERE!! [especially under ya feet]

BUT yes.I was thinking ive only seen the large [liquid] too as this guy's set-up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sV2VBKIllyg&feature=related

Think i'll msg this guy.

thx for input lias.

.i know exactly what your sayin' :)

FEELS kind of weird this co2 lark.. A bit like when i worked [through an agency] at this one chemical factory and this dude said go over there & get me a bag of STEAM! I walked for a bit then turned round... dudes were having a right laugh :D. lol wtf.

YEA tho', the realease of pressure is what makes the vapour which you'll regulate [through the reg'] so 'spose all you need then is the dispersion tube and know how [experience] of what psi to let out onto your grow.. I notice The unis regulator/controller accounts for the size of the room and releases timed co2 so maybe its a bit fancy and thats where the confusion with this vapour crap lies!?. All sales ploys i reckon.

lollllllllll MATEE, ALL GOOD STUFF :D

This is what went on.AT 12.00am/pm last night this morning i ordered this big mother : [a few to choose from:)] http://gascylindersuk.co.uk/shop/index.php?_a=product&product_id=61
delivery's nearly £20 and so is the vat you got to pay also . ssssss

I told them i needed vapour realease. They replied with a refund and sent me this:
http://gascylindersuk.co.uk/shop/index.php?_a=product&product_id=20 [Ive later found that all "vapour" co2 is no more than 14lbs and is used in many ways i.e pubs, soda stream, living aquarium plants etc.] Also pet shops refill small bottles which is handy spose.

I might just order that 30lt bottle again and get their co2 regulator [cheaper anyway] as i dont really need a timer tbh .hmmmmn .

mate thats where i got a few cylinders and i seriously would think about getting 10 litre ones from somewhere like this instead

http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/Ventilation--CO2-and-Environmental/CO2-Enrichment/CO2-Bottle

-the deposit is always 20 or 25 for the cylinders but the 10 litre ones are seriously much easier to move around without breaking your back. and those guys at that place in st helens will look at you like a piece of shit (they did me) its a dump,,(refills cost £9 for a 10litre at this place)

-you will need a timer,, plants need o2 at night time when they respire and it will mean you dont waste half of the co2 for no reason.

-seriously just buy the goddamn unis co2 unit and get the smaller bottles with a timer running it = piece of fucking piss,, i ran that for years then bought this

http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/Ventil...ental/CO2-Enrichment/Evolution-CO2-Controller

use real grow equipment and if you want to lug massive crazy heavy gas bottles around then go for it,,

lol SERIOUSLY Great help l.i.a.s

How heavy would a full 20-30 lt tank be bud? Also how long would it last for? ..if your were spraying for 15mins of each hour? [i hear]

:dance013:

good links m8y. looks promising.

a 30 litre tank weighs like 7 stone or something imo,,,, a 30 litre spraying 15 mins per hour would last about 2 months if a proper plant regulator was releasing it,, if it is just a normal regulator like the ones for welding or whatever then the solenoid may get burnt out if it isnt meant for the task at hand and then who knows how much you are releasing as well,,

i use this sensor these days sometimes with than controller (not the unis)

http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/Ventil...nmental/CO2-Enrichment/Evolution-CO2-Analyser

the best way to do it is where less is released more frequently which is what that unis does,,

or buy a butane gas fire and run it on low,, makes loads of co2 but creates heat obviously,,

Cheers pal.All food for thought... [Have to consider expense as well.sighhh!]

The reason im wanting co2 is because next grow im gonna flower 100% Blue Meanie [on the table anyway].If within say 3 weeks [with the gas] ive got to the desired height ill be happy. Yeah i could deal with 7/8 stone [moved the patio doors into the garage,on MY TODD!,lol].+No rush is there.Im gonna get the 30lb and a co2 regulator and manually spray for 15 mins of each hour [or whatever] i reckon.. Cus i can give 'em 24/7 care. [for a few wks anyway.Whilst in vegge].
The mad 4/5x+ stretch of the chem d tho' I DONT need gas for :).

thx 4 input bud.appreciated.
