Chocolate Rain

My comments were a direct response from ******'s Opergrow site.......I think I can find it. Here's Eskobar's (the breeder) comments regarding the pheno's:

"To actually get a good chocolate taste u have to pick treats of both parents.
Myself i look for Chocolope looks , that are the smaller ones and the stretch from the Cocoa Kush, leaves slightly narrower.
Chocolope almost does not stretch, the lenght of the buds stays smaller.
The buds itself must have some foxtails, iff u look to the picture of inbetween, i would keep the right one of his first pic. That looks like a good balanced mix.
Cocoa Kush is slightly slower in start of flowering and she does 1 to 2 weeks longer then the chocolope.
Iff there is some blueberry from inside the cocoa kush, those will be the spearheads.

Grdz e$ko"

So, per the breeder, to clear it all up: Although one might think otherwise, the short pheno is Chocolope leaning and the tall is the Cocoas Kush leaning. The Kush has 2 Blueberry parents and some of the tall pheno's have spear shaped cola's. The short pheno finishes 1-2 weeks earlier than the tall pheno. There are also many reports of an extreme sativa pheno, very tall, spindly plants but also a worderful smoke. Here's the link where I'm getting my info from:

That must have just been the cut Eskobar used.

I run Chocolope and have 2 phenos. One is smaller and loaded with bud sites. Superb stink, just slightly better quality than the other. Bitch to trim.

The other is a monster, it is not a small plant in any way shape or form. Nice stretch, big yields, big smell, big flavor. Easy to trim. Love it!

Here's mine. More sativa pheno, fairly low yield, very complex flavor and high....

If you are looking for yield, go for the taller pheno, the shorter will have a more complex, dark chocolate flavor.

WOW......nice job. You killed it! That might be the extreme sativa pheno pictured. It does appear the shorter Chocolope pheno is the better yielder. I'm planning on either pinching them all or take Eskobar's rcommendation and bend the center stem and let the rest of the colas to catch up...

Cosign the taller pheno yielding like a mofo. The ones i ran from the original release were all tall and started with the fruity blueberry smell in flower and evolved to the chocolate dominate smell and flavor with sweet undertones at the end of flower into the cure and final smoke. E$ko is a beast!!!

Well let's go....times a wasting!

Got 5 going, 2 weeks from germination (meaning I popped them 2 weeks ago ..._)

Also started the freebies they sent ... "Jackberry X KO Kush". A few growers started posting pic's of this one and it's another real eye popper from esko that apparently is knock down smoke as well.

Now that IC Mag is more open about posting non-SB stuff here, I'll add a few pics as I go.

hmm, I bought 30 seeds of this, 14 turned out females, they are now past mid flower but they don't look or smell anything special. I hope they are better than what they look like.

First negative post I've read on any site, including OpenGrow (******'s site). There are numerous things that can increase your chance of more males including high Nitrogen and high humidity. Since this is the very 1st comment regarding high male ratio- I'm guessing it is environmental.

almost 50% doesnt seem like a bad ratio to me. I usually expect 40% female 60% male. Anything higher than this and im doing pretty good.
