Ey up. Day 10 of flower.
Please excuse the fencing lol. I’m not trying to scrog or get an even canopy or owt. I’m a Steptoe grower innit. All it was to do was to retard stretch for the first week of flower.
Well they’ve busted through. I stopped tucking after snapping a couple of breakthrough branches. I wasn’t rough. Maybe it was the time of day and they were turgid and providing too much resistance. Who knows. They began to stretch almost immediately. I’ve still got a good couple of feet though I reckon (you can see on pics.) A few more days of flower and I’ll start to take some lowers off and solve some leaf on leaf grief. On one of the pics you’ll see light is still (just) penetrating the canopy. So it looks mega bushy but it’s actually par for the course.
Weathers hot here so temps don’t go any lower than 24. LED set to between 300-400w. I need to check the par readings really and sort the photons out n get them reyt on.
Just notched the feed up to 1.5ec to see what happens. I don’t usually see a need to go over 1.4 but this feed is new to me and it appears to be quite forgiving.
Anyway. Pics or it didn’t happen …

Ey up. So you’ll notice I’ve burnt the tips of the leaves like a good ‘un. It’s light burn. There was nowt below the top portion so that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. It’s simply because they grew like fuck. I’ve never really been one to train plants or owt. I’m trying to consciously keep plant height down. The only reason it’s hopping here is because I’ve got a ‘seed for diary’ plant in there that took forever to root. Meaning my timings went to cack. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!!

Apologies @ojd i wanted to get this spot on but it’s less than I’ve come to expect from myself. Hopefully I’ve figured a work around and should be golden from here on.

… let’s not tempt fate eh! Cheers for making me feel better about it though. Still bums me out. I’m generally good with feed n judging things. I pushed the lights because I notched the feed up. It’s new to me so kinda finding out what’s what. Turns out it’d take that EC even without the need to alter other variables. Yer lives n learns eh.Cheers for popping in and commenting @Redrum92

Cheers me owd much appreciated It’s that new feed I was using. This is the first time I’ve done flowering from the get go. Last crop I ran out of feed about week 7/8 but I was also skint. The hydrocrop was 17 quid, enough to make 5L. It’s good in veg but I just can’t seem to get it right now I’m in flower. So today I’m gonna order Growers Ark coz I know it’s solid. I’m also gonna order a pack of beans so I’ll be in touch once I’ve picked summat @ojd

Ey up. Still a bit negged out how this is going. Bit o’ tip burn and some mild light stress. I’ve seen much worse admittedly but I’m better than this. Not made a great start to life at ICM.
Growers Ark inbound tomorrow. Back to familiar feed.
The pics ain’t great, had to get the step ladder out, yes they’re that big! Trust me these are vigorous hardy buggers. I let it get jungly and I think I’ve stressed them in every way possible and yet they soldier on. Warts n all full images ….

Cheers bud @mr.brunch … the odd mitigating factor. I’d bought a reyt tall tent n all that to avoid this light stress thing. I always had restricted height but it seems I just fill any vertical space I’m given. I’ve managed to control it in my hobby/project tent so I think the penny is dropping

Ey up @ojd …. I’d not updated for a good couple of weeks. Truth being told, they’re massive! I have to get the step ladder out. Combining the light being a bit close and that new feed I couldn’t bring myself to get up on the step ladder and look. When I did I was suprised. They look far better than I expected but still upset I let them go feral.
I’m also a mucky baccy smoker and my nose ain’t great with the niccy n that fucking my taste n smell receptors up. But I’ll try ….
I had a stem rub yesterday and the ICC has a bit of a sourness to it. Obv the diesel in there is what I can smell but it’s different to the male I kept. Whereas the male is just straight up petrol station this lady is more sour, still that diesely tingle but lightened up with something else. I want to say a sweetness but subtle like. I’ll have a really good rub after dinner when the lights come on.
The OG Kush mix I’ve only really grappled with one that I can reach. I’ll get round the other side of the tent later, it’s just a bit of a bastard. Gonna get shut of the tent and turn this box bedroom in to a flower room eventually. But aye, that one OG Kush is meaty as fuck. Nowt else to say really. Nowt sweet or owt. Just reyt meaty. I fucking adore that meaty weed smell. At one point in my early 20’s I just kept getting this reyt meaty weed. Takes me back.
It’s day 48 today so there’s time for things to evolve and mature. The ICC look on course for 9-10 weeks The Kush possibly 10/14 days behind in how mature they look.
Back on to the growers ark and have a second EC pen for making sure my feeds okay. If anyone needs an EC meter Inkbird have a sub £20 pen on the big river site. I use their controllers for heat and humidity and never had a bother. So for you budget growers it’s worth it even as a back up.

I’m turning a big old bedbox in to a male flowering chamber I can hide in plain sight downstairs away from the ladies. Once that’s done we’ll see how he looks in full bloom.

The female I selected was fucking enormous!!! Not a great deal of height, side branching reached the main top. No topping, bending or owt. Chunky bullets all the way down. Even after drying. Healthy fat nugs. However, the taste is very subtle. Almost apricot or peaches. That sort of flavour. As you’ve seen, height is a battle for me. I don’t get it. So this was what I based my selection on. It’s only lacking in flavour really so I’m gonna see if I can get the fuel stink in there.
Homemade soup. This is a cutting I was going to flower in my project/piss about tent to see if I could get more flavour out of her but I needed to prioritise summat else. I’ve got a mother plant too but I can’t bring myself to get rid. I’ll keep trimming her back and she can go n have it off with the ICC in the bedbox …
I’d like to thank @ojd for allowing folk to do some mucking about with his genetics. I’ve had experience of breeders being overly protective of genetics they were GIFTED and act like they invented cannabis seeds. It’s things like this that keep me interested and give me a bit of purpose outside of the 9-5. I’m not in a gang or group so I don’t get cuts or “ere try these seeds” I don’t even have anyone round here to share a banger wi. So it helps having something other than consumer beans/weed to keep it interesting. I’ll never be a breeder but I’ll have a fuck load of genetics to pass down to my boys when they’re old enough and if they’re interested. They might be a bit jumbled up but it’s there

Putting some decent weight on to be fair. I thought the light stress would destroy any decent tops. A few are stretchy and look reveggy. The one touching the light is super fat. But most don’t seem too bad. Back to Growers Ark feed so I can at least get the feed right now. Pistils on the OG’s have began to turn. The ICC is looking not far from being done but I’m a fan of ‘when they look done, give um another week’. I always plan for a 10 week flower but looks like these might fall both sides of that.
It’s scruffy n all over the place but there’s a lot of weed for one person there. Nice problem to have. I’ll never hold up 12/12 for one plant ever again. Proper kicked me in the bollocks it has.
I’ll be back with a feminised Connoisseur grow next time I think. I owe this place and @ojd a decent diary eh. Since coming on here I’m suffering from ‘the yips’ …

only a few days have passed but I had my phone with me so took a few pics. It’s not like I can be accused of showing off with this effort innit lol
User error aside. Big fat flowers nicely stacked n that. The ICC stacks perfectly. Flower pretty much all the way up. She sparkles in the light. I still have the other half of the pack so others to be found. I’ll definitely run them as soon as I can. I’ll give this a little bit longer then think about a nice low EC for a week then a week of flush.
The OG’s are just vigorous machines. A little slower than the ICC but boy are the putting some timber on now. I reckon they’ll be 11 weekers. Again I’ll run some of these again. I see those stretchy tips and horrible light stressed reveg type leaves in my sleep. Having said that I’m a nuts n bolts kinda bloke. I don’t give a fuck what it looks like. Does it go well wi’ a brew? If it passes the tea test it’ll do for me!
Postman came today! @ojd has been overly generous with the loyalty promo. I missed the chocolope thing completely so I decided my 3 packs would come from that collection. I could ask the man to send out 3 packs at his own expense and not buy owt so I got a pack of GMO Dough fems which I’ll probably get wet about crimbo. Seems a way off but fuck me it’s august already!! Not that I’m counting but I now have 11 packs of connoisseur stuff to hunt through. Doubt I’ll be short of nice weed for a long long time!
