Canna Coco Slab, Closet, 90wLED/400whps Legal budget grow

aww man im smoking on some purp kush locally grown and its so sticky and bomb! i hope my plant turns out like this, its killer!
3 hits and im baked, too baked to type! haha

id say top it......and for your case, just entering flowering, cut off like the top couple nodes. youll more quickly devolep the branching needed for LST or a SOG type plant.

check out my 250 lumatek thread on here, i, as do you, have 1 plant and 1 HPS light.
i cut off the top and trained the branches to make an even plane. youll yield a lot more if you can do something to the extent of this under your 400!

i bent her over, i think she liked it!

Aloha!

Looking good! Here is a couple of a tips. I didn't see from the pictures if you did it like this. And never ever take anyones suggestions as a rule because there are as many styles of LST as there are LST'ers so basically find your way but here goes again my 2 cents:

1. When you start LST'ing first thing to do is to decide the place where you want the first curve start (from the bottom) and tie that spot really good at the opposite direction of the next curve. This will support the main stem so it won't bend towards the direction of the next wiring.

2. Plan really good how to twist the main stem because it will still overgrow the other shoots so leave good space for it to bush out.

3. Tie all other branches to form a really flat bush. Now this looks like it leaves the center open but where there is space and light there will be buds too and with a little extra work you can train some of the branches back to center area but the key is to have the bush really FLAT.

4. You can train the main top even harder. Leave one internode to grow on its own for a couple of a days before tying it and tie the main node itself to grow vertically away from that spot. It will turn towards the light in no time.

5. Wait a day or two and check these steps again.

6. I RECOMMEND A SPLIFF AND GOOD MUSIC EVERYTIME YOU START MAINTENANCE! IT WILL HELP YOU A LOT!

:woohoo:

Edit: You're gonna need some wire you can bend. Rope is soft and good but it restricts the bending because you cant form any shapes to it. If you want to be a real gentleman use i.ex. hair curlers or pipe cleaners. Something soft outside but bendable is really good. I use metal wire but i can actually see the "little" harm it does to the stems. You can try it yourself with your finger: Metal wire hurts like hell wrapped around your finger and pulled...

Peace!

shes retied and LOVING it! installed my 400w light and i got fresh growth everywhere, everything is looking great! now wheres the fast forward button.. hmm. i have 10 tops now that look like they want to bud up the whole length! i estimate 2oz dry but i dont want to jinx it haha!

spotted a couple gnats flying around the grow room. going to get the neem out, although i hate the smell of that shit, gotta do what i gotta do.

also my clones arent doing so great. they arent rooting at ALL after 10 days and the stems are swelling and leaves looking pale! i used some rooting hormone powder and i think it was bunk! wtf man! do i go get some good rooting gel or keep waiting?
they are under a 24w aquarium light in a homemade humidity dome in coco with extremely light nutes and rhizotonic.
http://www.gardentech.com/rootone.asp this is the rooting powder i used. crap??

Taking clones is still a mystery to me. I don't have enough room to create a perfect environment for my clones. I managed somehow to get it done with rockwool cubes but with coco i've had some terrible results before this point.

There is a couple of things i do know though. One of those being the fact that rooting hormones are not neccessary. If your clones won't survive you have something wrong with your environment not the additives.

One of the most common problem is light source. Usually it is too near the clones. Those lickle ones will dry up quickly and they really don't want to loose that little energy they have.

Next is medium. Is it any good? If you use coco rinse it really good - i do mean really good. Clones need only oxygen, water and light to grow roots. Everything else is carried with them.

The best way to know if the rooting has started is to pull the plant just a little. If it is stuck to the medium it is rooted somehow atleast. Otherwise you should just start over. 10-days is most definately enough to tell you if you have or you have not succeeded.

on a roll!

looks like i will be adding a flower ready clone to the flower room soon!

new strain in today! "cannalope haze"
she was COVERED in spider mite bites and eggs so shes been neemed and is in quarantine outside.
any info on this strain? im told its a real fast grower

made a veg cab today. its pretty good i think!
the one ufo lights it up great and it fits my dutch trays with room for moms in seperate containers. its elevated for a slim res thats outside the box. i have the exhaust from the flower room going through the box, i had to seal it up with tape and weatherstripping, now its more freeflowing than the hose and temps are staying cooler allover. i know its not optimal but its working! i still need to get a pump and timer for this box, until then its hand watering and catching runoff.

i had to bump up my watering on my flowering plant DOUBLE! shes getting two 4gph drip nozzles 5mins 4x a day. really sucking the coco dry with so much activity in this early stage of flowering. nice to see.

i need some advice on transplanting this well rooted soil clone into coco, its in a dixie cup and the roots are very well developed. do i just wash the soil off the roots with running water? i dont want this dirt in my box due to the possible spider mite infestation. whats the best method for that?

heres some pics..

it looks like shes developing a nice plane of budsites. good work. is that box light proof though??? check if you see any signs of balls at all , well nanners for a hermi. overall nice box

very nice actually! everyday theres more and more! the whole thing is going to bud, im stoked!
the box is for veg only, no light can get from the veg box (24/0) into the flower room (12/12)
it is sealed, exept for the hoses, but some black spray paint may take care of that..
thanks! it turned out great!

put 3 babies in the veg box today, my two best rooted PK clones and the CH now in a coco pot. still got 4 clones in the box lost 2 cuttings so far. they are happy to get out of the clone box for sure! no wilting at all, they should start growing soon.

some more pics for ya!
heres the PK babies, looking happy.

clone chamber has been cleared out!
total is 5 valid PK babies roots taking off. lost another small cut, roots were taking off but leaves shriveled up when it saw the sun. not enough energy left in it. another week and they will be transplanted into the coco slab in veg.
need a pump and timer for the veg box

ok will do. ill show my new pump setup for the veg as i install.
yes its a recirculating system that i came up with, sadly required ph down daily. idk how to fix that.
just got a new pump, timer, some calmag(yay no more epsom!) and pk13/14.

on the pk13/14 how should i dose it? it says its for one week long 3 weeks before harvest. should i follow that? seems like not much at all...
