C99 x Apollo 11 Micro Grow

Welcome everyone.
I'm starting a grow using C99 x Apollo 11 beans. I am not familiar
with this cross nor with either of the strains in it, so this is new
territory for me...

This grow is in soil (basic potting soil with added perlite) in small
containers under 168 watts of cfl (4 x 42) in a 2 square foot box
(approx. dimensions are 24" x 24" x 12" deep).

They will be fed Schultz 10/15/10 and organic fish emulsion
(thanks doc :smoke:) each time they are watered.
I've been using that feeding regimen on my last two grows and it
has worked great.
We'll start with a little paper towel/plastic bag germination porn.

:nono:

Nice, huh? OK, so I germed 5 seeds, 4 of which cracked, and the
other...well, I'm not sure what's going on with that one.

So then, I planted all five in little 4 oz. cups.

Now to wait. More soon.

:joint:

i have been looking at getting some of those C99 seeds. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I've also heard many good things of the apollo 11, so i would assume these two together will make for a real nice sativa high! where did you get your seeds?

you'd better have enough room to tie them girls down.
c99 is a rather lanky one. be ready. good luck.

You wont be disapointed with Joey Weeds C99xA11, I have his F2 A11s and they are great

Would love to see this grow since I am curious about this cross

C99 x A11 is on my short list. Very interested in how this turns out.

How long you planning on vegging? Given C99's stretchiness and the size of that box, the sooner the better. Personally, I'd scrog it, but everyone's got their own way of doin' it...

MumBumper: you say you ordered C99? Who from? I thought Joey Weed (via Hempdepot.ca) was the only game in town for that and they haven't had 'em for ages...

Hey everyone - thanks for stopping by. Yes the beans are from Joey Weed, and the C99 x Apollo 11 was chosen because of short finishing time, low/mild smell and because it was one of the strains he wasn't out of. Also, it's hard to beat the price.

4 out of 5 seedlings have popped out of the dirt. 2 look great, 2 look just OK, a little weaker maybe...

The 2 smaller ones have real messed-up looking cotyledons, as you may be able to see in my poorly lit close-up below.

The 2 healthier ones look more like this:

Right now they are all under 84 watts of cfl's in a mother/clone box which measures about 16" x 18" x 16" deep.

More this evening.

MumBumper - hope you get them too, if you haven't got
them already, that is.
I noticed this morning that JW is out of C99 x Apollo 11. :nono:

Update:
Well, one more seedling bought it over the last couple days.
It had looked pretty iffy from the get go, so it was no shocker.
The other 3 look pretty good, but 1 is quite a bit smaller than
the others:

In a few days, they'll get re-potted in 16 oz containers, then
hopefully by next week they'll go to 12/12 in the flowering box,
joining these 2 skunks that are now at about 28 days flowering.

More soon.

Try
HERE
They're F2's of original Bros Grimm stock.

I can't afford any yet for a few months (and counting) so I'm hoping they don't run out before I can get a few packs. (Looking for a true breeder mum and dad)

Good luck :)

Quick update:

In light of losing 2 seedlings so far, I thought it might
be a good idea to start a couple more beans. They'll
be about 2 weeks behind the others, but what I learn
from the first batch should help with the rest.

Here are the 3 CindyApollo's today, approx 2 weeks
from sprouting:

Yeah, they don't look too different, but the roots are
growing and I started their feeding regimen, so things
should start to take off soon.

If anyone has grown either of these strains or the cross
I'd be interested to know what kind of phenos I might
be seeing in the upcoming weeks.

The only strains I've grown so far are Northernberry and
Skunk. Before that it was all bagseed, which is of course
a bit of a crap shoot, especially if you're like me and can
never remember which seed came from which weed!

the plants are a bit stretched try getting them closer to the light, CFLs are great you can get them, 1 - 2 inches away and they will stop stretching.

Yeah, I know, it does seem like they should be closer...
but keep in mind these containers are only about 1.75
inches (4 cm) tall and hold 4 oz. The seedlings themselves
are only about that same height. These are very small still.
If I put them any closer (they're about 6 inches away now)
they would die or the containers would dry out within
a couple of hours.

Once I re-pot them in a few days, they will be buried up
to their cotyledons and voila, no more "stretch". When
they're ready, they'll be put closer to the lights, but
probably never an inch away. I've been there, burnt that.

Hey everybody (all 3 of you, lol):

The 2 bigger CindyApollo's are now in their 16 oz containers
and the smaller one is to be re-potted probably tomorrow.

The other "replacement" beans were germed and have broken
soil. As I mentioned these 2 will be following along around two
weeks behind the others.

Since I'm not sure how much stretch there will be, I think they'll
be going to 12/12 tomorrow. I don't mind erring on the early
side, given my vertical space (about 20" max) plus I'm really
looking for a good mom at this point. I'll focus on maximizing
yield once I'm working with clones.

Here are the 2 bigger ones enjoying their new digs and their
weaker (but still kicking) sibling:

More soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Here are the 2 larger cindyapollo's after a couple days of 12/12.
They're definitely starting to stretch.

And here is a shot of the whole flower cab family, the above 2 plants
along with 2 skunks just finishing and 2 skunks just starting:

more soon

Well, the plants look healthy and happy, but looking closely
with a loop it's becoming apparent that the 2 biggest (oldest)
ones are boys. Here they are today:

And here are the other 3 younger C99A11's:

The largest of these 3 went to 12/12 today, the other 2 were
re-potted in 16 oz containers. They will be going to 12/12
in a week or 2.

Oh, well...
Here are the 3 remaining C99A11 plants. The largest
has been in 12/12 about 8 days, the other 2 are still
in veg.

Judging by how little these plants have been
stretching, I'm holding off on flowering the next 2 for
awhile, at least 7-10 days longer than the others.

I think you should really repot the seedlings in the fruit cups because it is not big or deep enough to establish a decent sized root system

Looking good dopeeyo, I too was cursed with a male last time. Got some Nirvana Ice seeds on order and hope to see them before christmas. just germed a couple of really good bagseeds and put them in the soil this morning well wait and see. Hope those c99x come up well for you.
