qwiso came out like rock hard red candy, second batch is golden amber rock hard....yeaaah!!!!
next batch will be one gallon of iso and a lot of good trim
only thing makes it difficult is handling, but seems experience brings wisdom there
interesting, yeah the red batch was rock hard the instant you took it off the pyrex, while the amber is more gooey and like melting rocks made of mollases...if that makes sense...although it is now being stored in the fridge and becomes very brittle in there after a half hour or so. wish there was a camera ;(
do u think there is and if there was any iso residue left in the rocks that it would evap just by being out?
thkns
hi everyone,
graywolf, gota question if you dont mind.
when isomerizing what is the black precipitate that falls to bottom of flask and sticks to flask within minutes of adding the sulf acid?
the solvent is hexane with about 10g of hexane extracted oil.
the black/green precip was easily redisolved in denatured alcohol after solution was poured off.
is it worth re-extracting with haxane and adding back into the hex solution being isomerized? that needs to be placed back in flask for another 2hrs of refluxing, gave it 2hrs already.
or should it be reextracted and cleaned up by its self?
or is this stuff complete garbage?
thanks bro
Sooo true!
