Sorry gang got a little heated.

I just feel like there is a mass-misunderstanding for a SHIT TON of good music going around right now, simply because ppl judge books by covers.

Good music seems to elude capture in the studio. Even a live recording of a good show is somehow just not the same.

Ive seen SO MANY live shows....and the best ones can't be harnessed by a CD.

Big Gigantic is an AWESOME band, but their CD's have more or less sucked.

EOTO, GREAT BAND; CD's.....Mrehhhh....give or take.

....Bassnectar. Gives it all he's got in the studio (while on tour no doubt)...but somehow the feeling just isn't the same. Even the songs he produces, when played live BLOW ME AWAY. Something about him feeding off the crowd, and the quality of the speakers...just blows most other Dubstep producers outta the water.

Dubstep-playing artists Ive seen live:
ESKMO
Datsik
Excision
Caspa
Rusko (Set AND live bass/drumpad at MacStore Miami)
Mala
Benga
6Blocc
Skream
EOTO
BigGigantic
Kromestar
Loefah
NoahD
Borgore
Ooah
GlitchMob
MRK1
Plastician
(Plus more than didn't even register the memory banks)

NONE of em touch BASSNECTAR!
EOTO gets close...But they're different than a live producer, they have a drummer.

PLUS, almost everything he releases for CD is whats called the 'base track'....
Asking to be re-mixed, and re-fixed....
Remember he's fucking around in Ableton Live, everything that's truly his is completely open for being run thru filters, various FX, and just glitttched the fuck up!

And to see it done live, will make ANYBODY question their own opinion of what's 'good music'....

Man I'm pissed. Went to buy tickets to show in Vail 03/05 and found out you gotta buy tickets to the whole 3 day ski/music festival ( $164 ea). It would be fun if you had the cash to stay and play for 3 days but not happening for me right now. Damn, I will probably just buy the fucking tickets anyway, bassnectar is just too sick to ever miss for any reason whatsoever.

Wooo, just ordered my VIP tickets to Nocturnal Festival Texas 2011. BASSNECTAR was the first released talent! :dance013: Also have Excision on the lineup...two great DJ's and they've only released 5/30ish names. Can't fucking wait!!:jump:

There are just way better producers out there then Bassnectar. There are 1000s of people making better dubstep, I just listen to theirs and not his.

I am truly intrigued however, if ye know more than I my friend I do ask to please divulge... so that I may indulge.

I think Mimosa is one I haven't seen that Id like to... but I really can't even really think of any more ppl producing Dubstep that I haven't seen already...

Minus Filastine and Ana Sia...thats pretty much everybody I know of doing major touring and "Production" that I would even want to see....that I know of.

Flux Pavillion, but he's not too much my style...

Datsik DID throw it DOWNNNN....but he was on Serato...which is just DJing, not production.

Don't mean to sound like a dick ProfSublime, I just really can't even think of any more Dubstep producers touring that would tantalize the senses like Lorin does....do tell.

If you are going to diss bassnectar because he gets up on stage and presses play, that's fine. But one of the blandest producers? LOL I reallize music is a matter of taste, but dubstep is full of garbage and bassnectar is awesome. Jump off the hate bandwagon at the risk of sounding like a hipster.

I met mimosa last fall, chill guy and he puts on a good show.

Ioni big gigantic is great, so friggin good live.
