What's new

Anybody else in fucking SHOCK at the mj discourse right now in the US?

It may not be next week...
I have faith that the tide is changing in the US. We are now witnessing the ramifications of a generation that grew up getting high on what ever they could find in their parents medicine cabinet. Not to metion meth, and Heroin that is cheaper oz per oz than a twinkie.
There are way more damaging boogeymen out there. A decade from now we may be talking about a list of currently unheard of designer drugs.

There may one day come a time, where parents will count themselves lucky that their kids are only "Pot heads."

Maybe Cali will go legal, raise butt loads of money, stop a lot of trafficking crime, etc but more importantly be able to quantify it. That might change a few things nationwide.

I talked to an old friend the other day who told me he has been looking for some weed to buy for over a week, and can't find any. He told me he could find enough crack, meth or heroin to kill a small army, but can't even find a joint. Is that messed up or what?

JJSCorpio, i had times where i could easily buy LSD, amphetamine, cocaine, MDMA all cheap and in very high quality. But you could find no good weed at all.

Its nothing unusual in certain regions.

yeah, i'm shocked. but i'm reminded of i think it was mohammad ali who coined the term "rope a dope".... i agree with those that feel like something is up, suspicions fill the air, watch out for the whoopty whoop... i think the stations replay those shows cuz it generates high ratings and thats it.

other than that i go on day by day not thinking too much about it cuz no real move has been made and its been real my whole life. i too find it odd that people around me can't find quality herb. even people that grow their own. crazyness.

It's a start, but I won't get my hopes up until I see some real change.

Yea im skeptical too, its pretty much already legalized here in Oaksterdam, its up to the rest of the country to catch up to us.

Once weeed is finally legalized/decriminilized in Parish County Georgie or some other crazy hick religious town, it will be won!

Am I the only one who doesn't believe any state in the U.S. , let alone the U.S. as a whole will legalize it?

The bills introduced for state legalization like in Cali are fantastic, and I wish with all my heart and soul it is passed, but I see no possible scenario in which it gets passed. It is wishful thinking.

The "discourse" with marijuana quite frankly isn't new and shocking...maybe if you're 15 years old. The movement in the 60s and 70s was sure at the time that legalization was right around the corner. Don't get any false hope from these bogus ass "documentaries" on cannabis that are popping up on mainstream television. They're still spouting bogus, misinformed, propaganda type lies. They spend the majority of the "documentaries" telling us that cannabis leads to big scary men with AKs and ruined neighborhoods/ruined forests and only a dash, and I really mean a small itsy bitsy dash, of truth sprinkled in there. The average citizen not involved/savvy with cannabis will watch that and take away the 85% bad they talked about the entire documentary as opposed to the 15% good there was to say.

A lot of people have already said it... smoke and mirrors... watch this hand, so you can forget about this hand... etc etc... I don't think it's any coincedence there is a heightened urgency with the "Mexican Cartel problem." I look at what they're saying on the news in this situation as a "cannabis movement" 9/11. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the U.S. government used this "problem" as a way to crack down and find other ways to enforce the "drug war" aka cannabis war. C'mon, cannabis has been moving in to the U.S. from Mexico for DECADES... cartels have been fighting over turf/product/profits since way before Escobar.

Quit watching the news and quit believing what they tell you. The cannabis movement will go nowhere as long as the faux government/"republic" in the U.S. exists. We elect "represnetatives" based on lies then the "representatives" push a pre-determined agenda. Public opinion means jack diddly squat in our current form of government... how'd that bailout go again?

C'mon people...

The only way to get people in this country to pay attention is to grab them by the wallet.

10 years ago, environmental issues were a non-issue politically. Once we figured out there was money to be saved, suddenly everyone is worried about global warming. Same w/ herb. More tax revenues have everybody's ear given how much we're spending right now.

I'm with you, I want to believe that the times they are a changin', but my better judgement tells me to be cautiously optimistic.

Too many agenda's at play here to be that cut~n~dry of an issue. :2cents:

There's always a rub. :wallbash:
