I’m sure this is a weird thread, but the concept is actually becoming more and more common (from my findings).
From my experience there are three types of people when it comes to using Cannabis.
A) The first don’t like it at all, they’re just not wired to enjoy the effects.
B) The second group are people that can use large quantities without adverse effects. These individuals can use concentrates and consume edibles without any adverse reactions.
C) The third group is like me. These individuals like the effects in moderation, although too much too fast can trigger an anxiety response.
I enjoy using cannabis but I am also prone to anxiety if I consume too much. I’ve learned how to limit my consumption by “micro-dosing” to avoid the anxiety. Basically I will take small puffs and space them out so that I can work up to the amount that “hits the spot”. I’ve also noticed that going from not high to very high in a short period of time can increase the anxiety. It seems like (to me) that if I gradually work myself up by spacing out my usage, I can allow myself to get “higher” while still enjoying it and not working myself up into a frenzy.
I’d describe the anxiety as “head games”, and usually it will end up playing out with some brief paranoia and racing heart, before going away altogether after about fifteen to twenty minutes. I’ve gotten used to it, so I generally just wait it out (This too shall pass) and remember the more enjoyable effects are on their way.
I’m also more prone to enjoying an indica or indica hybrid than a pure sativa or sativa hybrid.
Anyone else out there? Any tips on getting over the “anxiety” response from using cannabis? Should I be experimenting with High THC / High CBD strains that are more evenly matched?
