Heres my idea.
Roots dont look like anything special. Let them dry out, and simply crush them up and dispose of them, I bet money something like drain cleaner is more likely to destroy them dry then if they are soaked with water. I would get sufuric acid based drain cleaners. vs. Lye. Lye is good for grease, sulfuric is good for organic matter.
As for the leaves, I would let those dry out too. If they are from a female plant, I prefer to crush them dry. and wash them with acetone. Keep the acetone wash and make some hash out of that, and simply let the leaves dry again, pour some water in it and flush it down the toilet.
However, this may not work with huge ammounts, but I'm sure over time you could dispose of alot of leaf this way, and make a little hash in the process.
