UPDATE! FIRST HARVEST REPORT! W/PICS!

UPDATE! FIRST HARVEST REPORT! W/PICS!

Ok. Sorry for the neglect everybody. Had a lot going on and just didn't have time to get the pics uploaded until just now.

9 days after harvesting and hanging to dry, I removed the remaining stem and weighed everything before putting it into the curing jars.

The official weights in the pictures reflects only the weight of what you see in the picture. Prior to this official weigh-in, I test smoked:

  • 0.2 g of #8
  • 0.8 g of #9
  • 1.1 g of AK47
  • 1.2 g of #6

The test-smoke is not included in the official weigh in pics/data below. (Keep in mind also that I left a significant amount on each plant in order to help it stay alive until it reverts):

#2 - 7.8g / #3 - 9.3g / #6 - 7.2g / #7 - 8.6g

#8 - 7.8g / #9 - 4.6g / #11 - 6.8g / #16 - 5.5g

#39 - 7.3g / Ice Mountain (16oz) 4.3g / Pure life (16oz) 4g / TriTop - 8g

AK47 - 7.6g

So the total weight for all 13 plants as of the official weigh-in is 89.3g.

If you add in the weights of what was test smoked, the total harvest is 92.6g or right around three ounces.

My 32oz containers averaged 7.66g each.
My 16oz containers averaged 4.15g each.

Average for whole grow is 7.12g per plant

Just for giggles, I weighed up all of my stems when I was finished. There were about 33g of stems... so that means my bud/stem ratio in terms of what was produced is around three grams of bud for every gram of stem.

So I spent a little under $500 to build and conduct this first grow. It yielded me 3.3 oz for my first time out. Street value in my region is about $480 per ounce (1/8th at a time @ $60 a pop). So I basically tripled my investment and succeeded in removing myself from the black market in my very first test run of the cab.

My goal was to achieve two ounces so that this could carry me through until the second harvest, after which time, the perp harvest will go into full effect. This goal was exceeded by 50%!

If I populate this cabinet with only the best two of my 13 specimens, I can expect the average per plant to go from 7.66 to around 9.2.

A few pages back someone asked how I was planning to harvest once I get to perpetual, since I'd only be able to get 25 of these 32oz containers in the chamber.

These plants were harvested after 8.5 weeks, so if I assume an approximate 9 week cycle, we can see that with 25 total plants, I'd be able to potentially harvest approximately 3 plants per week. If I can get 9g per plant, 3 plants a week will yield about one ounce per week, every week from a two sq ft space. Which would make me very happy indeed.

I made some green dragon tincture last night using my leaf trim and a half a bottle of everclear. It's sitting in the dark with the lid off so that some of the alcohol can evaporate.

Stay tuned kids. This is just the first chapter.

Harvest is in day 4 of curing in glass jars in the darkness.

There are 13 potential moms reverting in the left chamber.

There are 14 clones that just switched over to 12/12 two days ago in the right chamber. 3 of the 14 clones are of the AK47.

AK is the best smoking, best tasting, best looking, most powerful of the plants in this harvest. Can't wait until the whole room is full of it. I'll probably keep whichever plant I decide I like second best (for variety) and get rid of the rest of the moms.

Very nice, good job man. Far better than I've done on my first grow or any of my grows. Looks like when I get back to growing I've got some serious restructuring to do. Looking forward to your future grows.

Peace-Phr3

You have amazing skills Anti. Results with test run are just awesome. Future grows can only be better. Inspiring stuff. Thanks for the ideas.

Wow, great results indeed. I'm green with envy. I hope to get our cab running as tight as yours someday. We still have great hopes for this harvest, even with our critter problems!

Great stuff enjoy those hard earned buds! Those three ounces cost you $500 and some effort but the next three will cost you $15 in electricity and some time, thats about 18 cents a gram ;)

very impressive indeed. I absolutely love and thank you for all the time and effort, not only growing but documenting every little detail. Helps noobs like me SOOOO much when planning my own grow. thanks again and keep up the great work!

Nice Job Anti Just got back up to speed in the forum and they;re looking pretty nice. hopefully i'll post some pics of mine soon as i can for you to see maybe help me out in a few areas.. lol.

First of all, thank you for the creation of a detailed, well planned out box, it makes it heck of a lot easier for newbs like us to get a good start. Props and Rep+

Don't mean to jack your thread, but Anti, or anyone really who is versed in the matter-I'm thinking of doing this slightly scaled down (trying to do it so the cab is 4'*1'*3'(about), Veg-1'*1', drying room 1'*1', and the flowering room 2'*1'-- my question is, if I'm using a single 2 ft PL lamp in my flowering area (110 watts), will I need additional ventilation to cool that lamp down (in my veg area I'm going to be putting the glass and fan you've worked into your box)? Or would it be better altogether if I just used 40w CFL's and cool it with a fan like yours?

I have no firsthand experience with PLLs so I can't really answer you as far as what sort of ventilation they need. However, I've seen people cooling them with glass tubes around the PLL bulb so I'm sure that if you put a glass partition between the lights and the plants with a separate exhaust for the lights that it could work for you in much the same way that these do for me.

I went with CFLs because Dr. Bud and others reported success and because they are easily available locally and don't require any real electrical knowledge (or skill) to wire up and use.

I'll put some pics up of my clones and my reverting moms in a few days.

The jar cure has made the AK47 taste almost like good hash. Super potent, too. The smell just keeps getting better and stronger, too! I fantasize about what things will look like come Christmas. :)

Wicked grow anti, like it. nice work sah

as for the pll dude.. just put all your tubes facing the same way, then aim a 12cm pc fan from the tip of the tube blowing towards the socket, which should be near your carbon filter. this will keep the PL-L cool as they're usually designed to run cooler than cfl anyway.

for revegs id say just cut the rootball back and put into new soil, go easy on the waterings.

everything looks like it worked out great, your next harvest will be substancially bigger.

Great thread, from start to finish. Take a well deserved bow.

The happy ending with weights that are both reasonable and inspiring was just so much extra frost on the leaves.:woohoo:

+ Rep. Thanks for this.
