Never tried mycorrhizae before, but now I'm about to shop and get me some right now! This thread convinced me and showed this grower another great way to maximize my yields. I can't wait to try it and see the results in both quality and quantity.:canabis:

Max,
There are several good ones like AN's, Gen. Hydro's, but I think about the best buy is Plant Success Soluble. It's available in a soil amendment formula also. Get one with beneficial bacteria and tricoderma fungi. Good luck. -granger

Here is some root porn after culling a male from a past grow. the male was an unknown sativa dom. plant grown from bag seed found in a super dense super frosty seeded batch. Wish i never culled him...super dense growth, great smell, and genetically purple. Anyways these were the roots after using mycohorrizae....

I a big fan of beneficial fungi. I look for leaf litter with fungal growth and use this as a thick mulch outdoors. The roots grow up into this mulch as the mycorrhizae break the leaves down. No telling the species of fungi, but the plants seem to love it.

Man, lot's of roots big twin, I've just started adding the stuff to my clone hole when I plant a cutting, This grow is gonna be mad!! eveything is looking good, My root stress (RUST) I took a plant to the University of Washington AG extension!! I had scale, and probably caught it from some Orchids grown indoors, It's gone and the girls are really putting on some weight, My Gabby Haze is just kickin, and the Hoosier Daddy, ChemDawg91, and BB Kush are also looking sweet!! lot's of bud sites but more importantly lots of roots to suck up the chow!! Hey thank you for all the partipasation , I'm learning alot, going to Oregon this week to get some Nutes!! New beggingings, I'd felt I needed some-thing fresh, I give stuff away to like a food bank, clones, seeds etc. anyway, I'd felt Oregon was the place for some reason, to get some fresh starts, or even better some seed. gonna look around a little when I'm there.

great thread, im tagging along!
still tho
the most interesting and important part of this discussion is: do salt/chem nutrients kill the beneficial environment you are trying to create w myco products?
any threads out there already that can clear this up? I kno alot of people are saying chems kill the beneficials, but is that 4 sure? i tend to believe so, but would like to see another thread on the topic.
skaticmagic, im guessing you will get better results from the innoculated plant(s)
thanks for the side by side!

i think it depends on what type of chemical fert. you are using as well as the concentration...sorry for a "master of the obvious" response, but pH plays a large role. I use organics so i don't have direct first hand experience with your question, but i do have a background in biology and chemistry. But as a brief response, yes chemical nutrients will affect microorganism populations. To what extent, i'm not sure...i think organics is easier and cheaper anyway..at least for my scale...and it produces in my experience a nicer overall product. Good looks in your thread Avinash.miles, I've been lurking in it quite alot!=)

It's my understanding that the chemical nutes will adversly affect the benificial fungi and bacteria etc., IF it kills them, I can't answer, I do know that my girls are really looking fine, I've taken to useing soybean meal with the alfalfa, and I'm making my own innoculants letting it perk a couple of months. I'm growing a multi strain grow this time, HoosierDaddy, BBkush, trainwreck, super lemon haze, chemdawg91, and GabbyHaze, everybody looks good, this organics niche I know isn;t for everyone, I have lots of privacy and room!!! I've got two small swimming pools for mixing, A couple days ago I joined a tool group called Harbor Fright, I bought a cement mixer, I'm gonna mix dirt!! When I get the real perfect mix, I may even go into a little side bussiness, but for sure if I lived in a apartment house or duplexx etc. I'd still use bottled organics and soiless mediums, The shotglass mixes they got bottled make it real easy, the hard parts following directions!! LOL, smoking some serious good smoke, the chemdawg!!!

skagitmagic: interesting @ soybean n alfalfa brewing for 2 months, is that like a fermented plant extract? im thinking of mixing soil as well next go round, even tho i have nutes stacked up waiting to be used, mostly sample packs i picked up @ an expo...
cement mixer is the right tool 4 the job 4 sure
for mixn nutes instead of a shot glass
get a graduated cylinder for measuring, even a couple different sizes helps w accuracy.

nice selection of strains also

You can do it both ways bud. What i do is add it to your transplant hole... "ya gotta get it in the hole!" lol I add gw, azomite, plant success granular, plus some other stuff. I also "dust" the roots right before I transplant. Incredible results. I think theres directions on the back for water recipe. 2 scoops/gal i believe. I was talkin to the Great White rep and he said to actually roll you initial cutting after you dip in cloning solution. 6/6 sense I started. It all about getting it in contact w/ the roots asap. Just watch your P counts and stay away from chelated or edta's, as these can be harmful to your microheard.

Edit: Ha. Sorry still a bit early. I see that your runnin hydro. It really depends on what kinda foods your usin. If its salt base, dont even bother with the white, wastin $. but 2 scoops / gal is for soil. It says on the back Hydro application. 1 scoop per 10 gal.

cool thanks for the reply,

yeah ive bin dipping them in gel then the gw then in cubes, and covering them with maxigrow seaweed, sealing them up and breath in them daily,

im having like 1 outa 10 root others go mouldy cant get my head around cloning,
i took 24 off these plants this time, all i want is 1 jack here lol

otherwise yeah bio hydro, im using lucas GH formula only, aswel as ewc tea

Ya the micro wont really be effective. the lucas wont support it. still use it when you do your clones. I use it hardcore in my organics and man o man, wont do it without. Well cloning is tough, what i ended up doing is putting them in a mini greenhouse on a workself . I had best results with the regular domes, not the bigger vented domes. Ill post a pic. You can over light em. i think that was my prob. And patients. Do you prep your cubes? Keep em semi moist, never wet.Try Hygrozyme. Shits awsome. I wish I had some real jack.... someday. :)

nice thread ~
i too make my own "nutes" and compost teas etc etc...
btw u do not need two months to ferment an extract - only around 2 weeks . heres a pdf file i copied from a guy who is an expert in all this. it is awesome info. to make botanical extracts the best thing is to use EM-1 ( http://www.teraganix.com/EM-1-Microbial-Inoculant-p/1000.htm )

check out his recipe for banana/squash /papaya FPE ~ for fruiting/flowering! :jump:

also a mix of kelp meal and alfalfa is supposed to be awesome on the switch. just aerate in water for 2-3 days and strain .
btw i bet i'm only a stone throw away from you Skajit~!!!

good luck ~

Thanks Avinash,, my yield went through the roof, plus the satisfaction of smoke well done, I got busted growing march 29 1966 so i've been doing this for awhile, I've never had better grows than with the recycled home made dirt!!! the 2nd. and 3rd growths, even though I've been growing forever, most of my current knowledge, I gleaned off the threads on Marijuana passion, it's not that the're knowledge exceeds the threads here, its the rules are tougher, it's tough love over there, it's a more mature audience, i don't know, it's different over there, the ego's aren't quite as big i guess, i don't come over here much anymore, but everything i'm doing i learned there!!! I'm now GROBOT on that site, thats for you serioussmoke, I'm grobot, I got the aroma from tacoma as i rolled through headed south, I'm terrified of Alameda county, just being in the vicinity of santa rita, scary stuff for a old man, wondering about the statue of limitations, I left Oakland in 1975 and swore I'd never dark it's doors again!!! WTF, the last beef was a drunk driving in san leandro, but it's always been something!! and the somethings been skag, my mrs. of 38 years turned me in for being over my, our 48 ounces,, I really need to do a thread on farming on shakey ground, and we are not talking earthquakes lol,, bushwackings the word,, I'm movin to oroville, calif,, but have so many tyes in the eastbay, I gotta wonder what lidia pence looks like today,, lead singer for cold blood, i liked if it was facebook, lol
