I thought it was simply the 50% from the 100% cross..

I have real good season and light..but a 40 inch Max Headroom...including pot.
AF's are ideal...
just had to work on the yield a bit to make it viable.

Meaty..it is Ages since I have grown a bag-seed..I love them..they are like little lucky dips.

I am getting the same joy out of the new crosses..I mean..
who even knows what say an AK-47 x JEM 100% AF is gonna look like..
nobody in the World has ever grown one.

It is quite Awesome knowing that.
Fingers crossed they won't be Ugly Birds..or I will be gutted.

Talking of Gold everybody..
you know I have had a Chocolate coloured leaf coming through on this F5 grow..well..now I have a chocolate brown and Gold bud showing...
something else is tryin to get out..it would help if I could identify it.

Anybody heard of a canna that shows Chocolate/Gold...?

Bud on the right..sort of shiney bronze..with brilliant gold self-coloured trics on the bottom of the seed calyx.
It is quite stunning.

What AF would the progeny be..?

Plus..if said progeny were mixed with a 100% AF sibling male..

what would the AF % be @F1.

So you're saying your F3's are 100% AF and you will be crossing those females to a non-AF male.

If the non-AF male has no autoflowering genes hidden within it, the resulting progeny will be 0% autoflowering. Autoflowering is a recessive gene, so both parents need to be carrying the gene and inbred to express it.

100% AF x 100% AF will = 100% AF

They ^ all have the same gene running through them, so when you cross them, it will express. Typical 'normal' strains have a dominate gene that controls photoperiod... so the first generation will express that dominate gene, BUT! you've now inserted that 'hidden' autoflower gene. After that, you backcross to a 100% autoflower and the results are 25% of the population being 100% autoflowering, then you inbred that generation to 'lock in' the autoflower trait. But, anytime you cross that 100% autoflower with a normal strain, the dominate gene will overcome.

Last summer..after the selective crosses..
I let a male loose for mass-pollenation.

I think I cocked-up on that male.

I could go back to f3 and fiddle..or progress.
so I hit the non-af's with the FB cross while he was on the patio.
He is 100% AF.

I thought the off-spring would be 50%...BUT..
I was wrong on my % on the ALF.
so I thought I better run it past you.

I do like my homework double checked..

You are the resident AF % expert now...

this is what you call a Mossy Bonus.

There were no canna seeds around when the sunflowers were being sown
The only thing I can think...when we had the big storm and the tent was going in and out like lungs.
I think a couple seeds were knocked out of one of the mothers.

There were 2 seeds..1 male and her.
I am not sure what she is..although timing would sugest an ALF.

I will remove her when I transplant.

but the pot is for downstairs..so I need it out before the neighbours see it.

pleasant grow show here mossy m8..
what can i say... my grow was partially fucked by the spider mites and i chosed not to use anything strong on the plants so i made a soap&garlic solution and sprayed frequently.
some plants were litterally raped. i harvested them... and not early luckly..
some plants are still in there .. a couple are still healthy and the rest are more or less suffering.
The plan is chop - clean - restart. I managed to plant some seedlings and the meaning was to replace these plants but i think i will use them for my outdoor as i want everything to be clean and fresh for the next indoor round.
