Oh the heartbreak... Panama #2 insists he's a dude. Best looking plant ever. So his place in the tent will be taken by the two larger outdoor plants. First to declare womanhood gets to stay in. Since he's really starting to flower, I'm going to keep him and collect some pollen for Panama#1. First time I'll make seeds on purpose;)
Hi my friend if he looks that good harvest the pollen and keep it, it can be gold.

Right on, Tangwena, that's the plan. He's really going for it, putting on flowers fast. Definitely like to get some F1 beans from him and Panama 1. One of the two I'm considering for the tent may have shown a ball. If it's a Nepjam dude I'll keep him to make seeds with the Nepjam fem, if Panama, then chop or give to some pals.

Welcome, Mr soul;) thanks fer lookin in!

They got another good feeding, softer nutes this time, 3-3-2 kelp n fish. Loving it. PICS tomorrow. Today is first day of 12/12, Tikal 1 already bunching up nicely, Tikal 2 untopped and looking great, same pheno as 1 so far. Panama 1 was dryer than I thought and a bit wilty, should be on fire after today's feeding. I will repot to 5 gal when stretch is done.

Question; how do you guys alter feeding for transition to flower? This is, honestly, where I usually screw up. The only one to show any tip burn is a Nepjam, so I know I've been conservative with the nutes.
Panama 1 clones refuse to root and look like they could stay in the cloner indefinitely and still look the same. I'm going to put one or two in soil and see what happens. Gotta say, after this very long veg in soil, I'm looking forward to putting a couple of clones in DWC and watching them explode...
Gooday all, dwd

Update; after basking in a nice bit of desert sun yesterday, it's snowing out again, fer crissakes, so everyone's inside.
Few dates; Tuesday, 4/26 was day 1 flower for Panama1 and Tikal1, also day 1 12/12. Yesterday 4/28, I put the 600wHPS in. Today 4/29 I gave everyone their second Neem treatment. As they're coming and going from outside, taking no chances.
So in the tent, all declared girls, are Pan1, Tikal1 + 2 and what I think is Nepjam2 who just shot her first pistils yesterday at @5 weeks from seed. I'm psyched to have three different smokes to test;) Tent surface area is about full, now they'll go up from here. With training, plants are not even a foot over pot tops, around 18" square. Tikal 2 and Nepjam2 will get repot in coming days and I'll put the four in Milk cases that'll help to tie them down. I'll leave Tikal1 and Pan1 in 3 gallon, since they got long veg, and uppot to 5 for the younger two girls, so they get a chance to catch up.
Bangi Haze and Nepjam fem are mothers for next go round, all from clone... if the Bangi's a doll and shoot some pistils, that is.
Clone situation: the newest cuts from Pan1 ARE rooting already;) Added 4 cuts of the recently declared Nepjam girl in the flower tent, all lowest branches. The Tikal 1 clone is rooted and now in soil and I've got that Nepjam fem that I want to clone.
Male situation; I've got two Panama males, very different phenos, from which I'll take pollen and paint a branch of Pan1 to get F1 seeds. I've never flowered out a male plant before, a couple hermies, sure, so I'm surprised to be still so into these plants. Could (and do) sit and stare at Pan2 for days. He's really a special pheno to my eyes; fast flowering, dark, stinky, tight, a real looker, etc... and I can't wait to have some pollen to play with.
I ordered a Quantum Badboy t-5 system for veg while the tent's full and weather's crappy. Got a 2 footer for my Mom for Ma's day;) She's having trouble with her indoor starts.
That's da news, next time pics, no words.

Pic update-day 5 flower

I may have a purple male in P2:woohoo: he's been putting on flowers for a week and is already showing purple in his buds. Very cool.
Still have to repot Nepjam 2 and Tikal 2 after another week of stretch. The bangi has a nice pink hue in the center of her tips. PICS show the rest.

Pic update - day 9; nice flowas

Pic update - day 9; nice flowas

Very happy they're healthy and taking off into flowerland:peacock:

Tikal1, Panama 1 @9 days flowa, tikal2@5 days, Nepjam takin her time and looking like a babe. Everybody else is outdoors under a bright desert sky.
Clonewise, Tikal 1 is going like a champ in soil, and I've got one Panama 1 clone in soil, 2 more ready to plant.
They're getting about 1/2 n 1/2 veg and flower nutes @900ppm and not a hint of burn, except where I spilled solution on the leaves.
Tikal 1 is left front with fat stems and dense flowers, Panama back right stretching more and lovely, tikal2 front right and in flower 5 days, not quite as squat as sis. Nepjam is untopped, back left and not yet in flower. Looks bountiful:biggrin:

Thanks fer lookin in! Dwd

Welcome deepwaterdude :)

Thanks for starting your growing diary and for supporting our work.
Nice selection of genetics for indoor growing. I'm glad you are having a good female ratio.

If you want them to grow a bit more, then you can feed them in the first 20 days of 12/12 with a blend of growing and flowering fertilizers.
But all your plants look very healthy and happy so far, reacting fast to flowering so maybe you don't need to force them with the feeding by now.

Please, let us know if you have any doubt.
Best wishes for the flowering!

How to collect pollen from a male?

How to collect pollen from a male?

Dubi, :tiphat:I'm very honored you poked your head in... that means there's hope for these little plants;) These Ace threads are a hugely precious resource on growing your genetics. Very generous people out there and some real masters.
This is just a humble little grow and I've been very cautious so far, greedy as I am wanting to taste a few different strains in a tiny space:biggrin:. I'm finding they take nutrients really well and are just beautiful plants. The NepJam reg looks like she'll be big:)
I do have one question on collecting and storing pollen from a male. I've got a beautiful purple panama who's dropping bananas. What's a simple way to take and keep it? And when should a female be pollinated, ideally?
Grow news: New veg space for littl'uns. Lotsa clones. The flowering 4 were out all day yesterday as the electric grid was down for hours. fantastic weather, ten hours direct sun. I repotted NepJam and Tikal 2 as promised in 5 gal smartpots in Ocean Forest, put 'em in crates and rearranged the tent.
They'll stay this way until my new 5x5 tent gets here. Then, Nepjam fem and Bangi can join them and everyone into 5 gal;)

I looked in on my clones this morning and a mouse had eaten two tops of my Nepjam 2 clones. I put my trusty trap right next to it, get the bastard who likes a nice head salad from time to time.

Received my 5x5 tent yesterday and it was full of gashes and holes so I sent it back. Puts a hole or two in my grow plans. I'll reorder soon. I now have 5 PRed 1 clones in soil and one Nepjam 2 has sprouted roots. (Luckily the mouse must've been full when he got to this one and didn't touch it.)

Nice day out, temps in 80s so Tikal 2 and Nepjam 2 are outside in their little pen, while PRed 1 and Tikal 1 share the tent. The outside girls got plain phd water as they're in Ocean Forest now and won't need much for a few weeks. I top dressed pr1 and Tikal 1 with seabird guano and another organic amendment I'd never heard of with a ton of Mg and K. No burning at all this AM and a nice boost to the flowers. I turned on my camera this AM and it told me I was late for work so no pics yet. Day 18 flower. PICS tmrw. Yesterday was day one of 11.5/12.5.

PICS later today, same configuration as yesterday: 2 out, 2 in. The Nepjam 2 outside has beautiful purple pistils! She and Tikal 2 are loving the sun. Good spot, direct sun from 7am-6pm. Day 19 for Tikal 1 and PRed 1 and they look great.

The girls in the tent are topped and trained and are producing nice uniform colas, the mains being slightly higher than other branches. The girls outside are untopped and minimally trained to one side. The Tikal will have a really nice main cola and the Nepjam, too.
So far, the master plan is going well, muahahaha!;) I've got 5 PRed clones in soil, one of which will be a mom, I've got a great Tikal mom, a Nepjam clone ready to pot and be a mum. 4 plants're in flower and 2're ready to join em, although I'll veg the Bangi another month.

Time to think of the next wave of genes; Golden Tiger, Caribe, Jarilla de Sinaloa-a fast Mexican, and Malawi pure. All are waiting impatiently in the fridge. My vote is for GT and the Jarilla. Beans'll go in soil on heatpad today.
This is becoming a full time gig! I'm wasted, and not the good kind. Lucky today is half day at work and I'll get to see them during daylight hours... and take some good pics.

Outdoor pics

As promised, finally got the time to detail the flowerers; nice things happening. @day20 for Panama and tikal1. @2weeks for tikal 2 and not yet 1 for Nepjam1. The Panama Male is not hanging near these babes, but hey, it's windy. Que sera, sera. He is hanging near Nepjam fem;):comfort:

They all look very dark at the moment, having got new soil and some amendments. I flushed all my clones, Bangi and Nepjam fem because Bangi was yellowing. thought it might be the new soil, because I was expectin burn, but not lockout. Turns out upon a closer look that a mouse had eaten all the bark from around the stem and a good part of it as well. Had eaten the tops of a couple clones, too, but I got the bastard this morning in my favorite trap.:sasmokin:
Gooday all, dwd

Still not sure dat pink one's a Nepjam-just a hunch.

I think I burned the pistils with my last neeming; all leaves show no burn or little, but the pistils on PR1, Tikal1 +2 got wispy and browned a bit at their bases. The pink pistiled one didn't notice. Beautiful plant, glad I took a few clones, be it Panama or Nepjam. Anyhow, I changed my tent setup a bit, added air intake, vented the hot air better, put my larger fan on the carbon filter to cool the 600w and I have much better light distribution and temps. Very happy.
Both Panama and Tikal 1 seem to have taken their repot well and are growing again with a couple more gallons of Happy Frog. Tikal2 and Nepjam don't seem to mind the Ocean Forest, either. My kingdom for a bigger tent... and a couple greenbeams while we're at it. Pics in a couple of days

New bean drop

New bean drop

4wks flower today for the eldest; Panama and Tikal1. The Tikal 2 is definitely strawberry, more vigorous than sis who's just bouncing back from a stall., even if it's grower error

I dropped 4 Golden Tiger, 4 Panama, 3 Bangi Haze, all regs, in water yesterday eve. I added 2 Purple Wreck fem from reserva privada as I'm a fan of anything Trainwreck and had 'em on hand.

Their pots and spot are all set under the t-5.

Neem

Neem

Can I spray these girls down this eve, do you all think?

high deepwaterdude,
well i use neem too and it works fine so far if you follow some rules...
1. only spray the plants when lights are out. Important are the undersides of the leaves...!
2. repeat after 3-4 day's and after another 3-4 day's (3x in total).
3. best time is before you go into flowering...
well i used it also 4 - 6 weeks into flowering without any issues...
important are only the dosage like how it is printed on the packaging and that you use it in beginning of night... otherwise you can damage the plant...

happy growin'

Next wave o' beans in the ground

Next wave o' beans in the ground

Thanks MadMac for the neem advice;) the flowering girls are staying indoors for t he rest of the run, so no more necessary. The clones, however, will be in and out and'll need protection.

So, almost all the beans had cracked or had tails this morning and went into soil. One Bangi and maybe one Panama didn't crack but are in zee ground anyhoo. Next couple of days'll be fun.

I adjusted the pH upward this last watering and Panama unstalled immediately. Looks great and vigorous. Best news is the new dr150 tent. Not ORCA but awesome... and huge. Got here yesterday evening and I had it up in 20min. 25ft square compared to my current 9. I won't see the girls with lights on until Friday, when they'll occupy their new home with a couple of girls I couldn't fit in the 3x3.

And yep, I see why 4 greenbeams would cover that surface area... just need to rob a small bank or something. For now, I'll start with my 600hps and 400MH. Pretty weak coverage but what I can do right this sec and I won't overkill the tent... yet. Anyhoo, this is the first time I'm coming close to any real perpetual grow and I'm just buzzing with energy, and a little nervous with 13 new starts, 10 rooted clones and 6 mature plants.

PICS on Friday of all this.

clones first, quite happy. Starting to LST the 5 Panamas, the biggest is Tikal, then 4 of the big mystery plant. 13 seeds waiting to come up.

The rest are old tent, same config. Got some sugary closeups:biggrin: Chunky stuff is Tikal, youngest is maybe Nepjam.

Pic update - today, new tent. First day of 11/13

Heh. OK, so my mind's eye was seeing a 4x4 space, which I fortunately took to be 5x5, the mystical thread between us being somewhat hazy... so now I have a big space and not enough light;) And not enough plant material... Ayep, I grew tiny little healthy plants;) There's hope as they've got anywhere from 5 to 9 more weeks to go. I have the 600w hps and the 400w MH both maxed out and'll add cmh lights over the next couple of months. I still haven't attached the inline exhaust for the 600 and temps are good.

I gave the thirsty girls a full dose of Age Old Bloom, 5-10-5, just before lights out. I'm expecting some burn and some boom as pH continues correcting and they get access to all that's in their soil.

just checked and a purple wreck has poked her head out of the loamy muck. Welcome to the show, babe. Happy to see you. I knew your sister and she was a lanky beaut.

Panama and Tikal 1 @ day 31flower. Both very frosty and Tikals, both, are squishy strawberry:woohoo: The 2 new plants are Nepjam fem and Bangi haze. Not sure the sex of the BH, and who knows what the Nepjam will do as she's been hanging on the edge of flower for 2 months. I'm hoping she drops her drawers and goes for it.
