hope those dont stretch too much for you, mine more than doubled in size during flower...

I know dude. I don't think I've even defoliated the squats...actually I'm sure I haven't. The stretchers have not only been defoliated but also topped. Defoliation really hasn't worked so well on the current stretcher Odessa or the DTC99s. That's why I decided to change up....and top them...couple Xs now.

I think the squats will be fine....the stretchers will be a lot of extra control work. I might cage them...haven't really thought too much about them yet. The stretch DTC99 in flower...around the 2nd week...has for sure pushed up...but so far...I've only bent/crushed her top over 180 degrees. She has popped it back up to about 90 degrees overnight. I'll keep doing that until I need to tie her up.

attack the sucker branches early, mine liked to make lots...and the buds will keep getting taller as they fill in so they can still add some height even once the stretch is done..

Funny you mention...exactly true....I pop sickled/gutted the flowering girl just this morning. I relate the multi-sucker-branching-guts to Thai genetics...Casey and some Blue expressions do the same sort of branching.

I really believe Odessa and DTC99 are a good match up. They have the common C99...and that...is my way in. I'm going to rely heavy on the females to guide me along. I do that quite often with success. It was most important to find the proper females...and I'm thinking that I was blessed with the squats.

It's important for me to note: Odessa consistently puts out the squats....and that I'm finding them in the DTC99 makes me feel good about my vision. We'll see....

****For sure any DTC99 growers feel free to chime in....I'm flying them mostly blind

Hey Lean...I wore some old cowboy boots. It was pretty wild....most peeps looked like disco porn stars. There was a lot of everything...had a DJ and plenty of dope/booze...my circle of friends still party pretty hard...especially when wives are turning 40. Made my appearance with the wife looking hot...socialized for a couple hrs....but...made my way out before it really got into full gear. Few years ago...I'd have been a mess and would have rolled into the next day. It's not that hard for me to be boring....I feel better the next day. Still though....I kind of miss rolling "Too high to die".....watching the sun come up over the city.

Your plants and room look swell. Watch down low on the Chem DD during the 3rd week. Looks like you are coming up on it.

Because of CHACO....I'm considering adding a spare 1000 I have had sitting around for a few yrs...lol...I'm only running 1800 now. Looking for a way to justify cost.

I find it easy to be boring theses days as well.. I spent many years known as "the pill man under the pier" didn't matter what it was, I sold it. Life's much more enjoyable now. In bed early, drinking homebrew and burning homegrown. Only took a trafficking charge to wake me up and change my ways.

I've got the ChemDD by the door so that I can keep an eye on her. The room is maxed out with 16 plants of that size. Why didn't I build it bigger??

16? I think that's the # I now have in my flower studio (counting 2 Tweedy IX1 males)....just 2 days ago I was down to only 9. I have not had only 9 plants in flower in that room...ever. That's an indicator that I was in a fix. I made some moves though...starting with those late cull Cindy Moon Jones.

Yeah...watch the very bottoms on the Chem DD (3rd week nanners)...if they are going to happen...it will be down low. After that it should be clear sailing....maybe some very late ones.

At this age....I realize that I used to let the world bother me too much. Kind of had a sort of social anxiety being around populations of humans....but because I started so very young with all the additives...I didn't understand the masking they (additives) were doing. I still don't like being around peeps all the time....but I'm not socially retarded or a hermit. My reaction to stress is not to blot it all out....falsify it. I had a lot of fun raging...but damn...it gets old after a couple/few decades. I enjoy being calm/rested.

Herb has been with me since I was a young teenager....and I admit to abusing it....but...it doesn't make me sick, and I function fine on it. Maybe comes a day when I give it up....I don't see it happening anytime soon....but...I don't see a lot of things.//////////////////////

In order to lessen the cramping of the flower studio....I removed this Wipe Out and put her outdoors. At day 52....she is flimsy, floppy, creeper-like, stanky, and starting flush.

Wipe Out= Mikado X I-HOP Grape Krush

I-HOP Grape Krush= SCreme 'n Dawg F2 X Grape Krush

Out of 3: she is the farthest along....also the smallest. The structure sucks...but all 3 sisters are built like this.

I asked Chimera about the background of Mikado....as he knows these sort of things...and he told me it was an effort to backcross the SPG clone. He didn't know the particulars of what was used...but I do understand that the SPG clone is very hard/impossible to represent via backcrossing. That explains a lot when it comes to the variations found within the Mikado line.

Mine looked/smelled much like this Wipe Out (pretty sure my Mikado mom is in this thread and in my albums)....a creeper-like....flimsy sativa(?) dominant...not Grapefruit...but maybe a funk berry of some sort...perhaps on the line of Raspberry (??? Raspberry is more a flavor than aroma...let's keep it at "Funk Berry")...can't really nail it down...but I love the strong aroma. I'd go out on a limb and say: Wipe Out is a knock off of my Mikado mom...at least the 3 I'm flowering are.

They are the sort of plants that turn over fast...meaning: one day they are going full sails ahead...the next day they stop up taking as much feed, start to fade, pistils start to brown...basically seem to shut down and ripen up. I don't think any of them will go 70 days...

***I have weather moving in...coming out of the Gulf of Alaska or somewheres far away....I may well be moving plants around out doors....this weather is bringing in some damp cold. See how I navigate.

Reconnaissance of DTC99

Reconnaissance of DTC99

Quick look at the DTC99 I put into flower to gain intelligence on her habits. This plant was the tallest of the bunch in veg...though quasi-defoliated a couple Xs...she was never topped.

At day 15...indeed she has stretched. I bent her top over 180 degrees 2 days ago...this morning I added the tie to keep her sedated. I haven't added stakes as of yet....

I'm preparing for a long fight...

Storm Rescue Mission....

Storm Rescue Mission....

The weather has gone to shit. Never got over 55 degrees today....cold rain currently coming down. Built the 1st fire of the season to warm up the house. The next few nights and days will be cold/damp.

I managed to get home in time to snap some pit pix under stormy skies...as it began to rain...I commenced to moving the plants...bringing them under cover....and then into a dark room for their night cycle.

Conglom (Congo X Grape Krush)...52 days into flower

Conglom on the left....the Casey phenotype of Manzana Bramble at day 59 on the right.

Manzana Bramble= Ma Kettle X I-HOP Grape Krush

I-HOP Grape Krush= SCreme 'n Dawg F2 X Grape Krush

Ma Kettle= Casey Jones X Grape Krush

***....the Bramble I just showed is a replica of the Casey Jones mom I used to make Ma Kettle...mentioned that before...but...it's really obvious now....one of the more stretchy/vigorous expressions that will dwell in Casey Jones genetics. In the proper set up...it's the type of expression that will get massive. Funny how plants keep coming back to you. Like a clone really.

Revolver (Chem DDIX1 X I-HOP GK)....now at day 59...coloring up really nice...remember there is Grape Krush and Strawberry in her....and of course...the Chem genetics are in both the mom and pop. Pure candy....even after all she has been through (hail storm...and before that...she was knocked over in a T-Cell storm)...this girl is coming together for me. Resin everywhere....smells likes sweet berries drenched in funky fuel.

Slowing it down

Slowing it down

I have a nice population of ClearBarbedFunk's cross: Katsu Bubba Kush crossed to male Ghost OG Kush.

I highly doubt that you can find more squat...slow growing plants. I'm talking seriously slow. Beautiful little plants though. I really like them after all the stretchy plants I've been running recently. I'm happy that they are so chill.

I'm going to work these into the Hell Hound plants.

This is going to be a pain in the ass to keep explaining as I document the project...but...here I go

Hell Hounds

1. I used mixed pollen of Odessa and SFV x Ghost X Ghost on several female Odessa...and several female SFV x Ghost X Ghost

2. In this project...the Hell Hound beans I used came from the buds of a SFV x Ghost X Ghost.....so either I will get SFV x Ghost X Ghost IX1s or [SFV x Ghost] x Ghost X Odessa.......I will have no way of officially being able to tell *except by observation/speculation.

Now to that mess...I'll make selections of both male and female plants....then outcross into the Bubba X Ghost as well as into themselves (though I won't be able to tell if I'm making SFV x Ghost X Ghost IX2s or [SFV x Ghost] x Ghost X Odessa IX1s)....lol....it's one big deliberate fuck show...

I'll also incross the Bubba X Ghost...and...most like likely use males out of that population on select female Hell Hounds.....so crossing from both sides....

....or I might mix pollen from all the selected males from both sides...making it an even bigger fuck show

I have no working name for the project (considering "Fuck Show")......in fact...I'm not sure I want to even explain it again....so I don't think I will. To anyone besides myself....it won't matter all that much anyway.

to see what shit looks like

to see what shit looks like

Hell Hound (Kush)= [SFV x Ghost] x Ghost X Odessa IX1

*Hell Hound (Odessa)= Odessa IX1 X [SFV x Ghost] X Ghost

...but because I used blended pollen to make the Hell Hounds I could also end up with SFV x Ghost X Ghost IX1 or Odessa IX2 depending on if I used beans from the Odessa moms or the SFV x Ghost X Ghost moms.

*Not using beans from the Odessa moms for the current project...so won't be seeing Hell Hound (Odessa)....though I could see Odessa traits in the Hell Hound (Kush) due to the Odessa dads.

Odessa= Casey Jones X Cindy Jones

Fuck Show (Katsu)= Bubba x Ghost X Hell Hound (Kush)

Fuck Show (OG)= Hell Hound (Kush) X Bubba x Ghost

*Fuck Show (Odessa)= Hell Hound (Odessa) X Bubba x Ghost

*not being made this round...and as I keep no cuts nor have anymore Bubba X Ghost beans...would have to be made within a different Bubba X Ghost generation.

For my own amusement....I wanted to look at it....still not decided on what to name the project....but..."Fuck Show" for now

****OK satisfied I have it down for the record...duly noted and all that sort of thing...

"Fuck Show". Love it.

Glad you're revisiting Odessa. I had great results with her outdoors this season. Odessa B "Ol' Dirty" was one of the stretchers for sure, and she was the one I ran in my plot. Branched like nobody's business, with little flowers everywhere. Odessa A was a squat pheno and got spread around to a few friends, and unfortunately didn't make it into my garden, but the "thank you for the bomb plant!" calls are already starting.

I don't have any photos of mine, but a friend who grew an 8-foot Odessa B took some snaps of his. I'll post them when I get the files.

I had shit go down, too... I lost probably 40% of my total harvest to caterpillars. These little miniature tomato worm-looking things that ate whole branches from the inside out in less than a week's time. Best natural camouflage ever - so hard to spot! I went to town picking the little fuckers off one at a time, only to return the next day to find more worms and more damage. With the spreading damage and the threat of heavy rains imminent, I whacked the whole patch last weekend. A tad early for most of what I was growing, but better a little premie than completely devoured and possibly molded. The Odessa was hit the hardest of all of my plants. But there's still enough to fill a few wide-mouths.

The early heatgun vape samples are in, and bro, so far Ol' Dirty is the gnarliest plant in the garden. She is in-your-face potent, and does not have a 'functional' high, no sir - she turns on the cartoon eyes pretty hard, and 3 big hits completely tears the top of my head clean off. Have yet to test the ceiling, as one vape bowl is quite enough. I can tell already it's going to be 'Saturday stash'.

The resins smell like berry jam spread on hash and served on a bed of fresh dogshit. I'm really kind of astounded at the level of dogshit present in the aromas. It's pleasant in this context, like the way hot tar or diesel exhaust aren't supposed to smell 'good', but do. There's no dogshit in the flavor, not that I've ever actually tasted dogshit, but there's nothing but blue skies and happiness in the flavor of this herb. Berries, currants, vanilla, wine, cedar, Sweet-Tart candy... there's kind of an overall 'creamy/sweet/sour' vibe to it all. The heatgun vape brings the flavor notes in and out progressively through the course of a bowl, and of all this year's samples Odessa is the most complex. Still haven't gotten to all the fleeting notes, there's a lot of shit going on. I grew the E32 Trainwreck for several years, and I can 'sense' the Trainwreck in the background for sure. Can't wait until she's cured enough for smoking.

Was checking out Head's threads recently, and Ol' Dirty bore an extremely strong resemblance to the Oriental Express mother that he used for Casey Jones. Very similar structure and flower shape.

Odessa will definitely be revisited in my travels one day as well, lemme tell you. Good work, man.

Nice Ponde.

It's pretty much a no brainer kind of a cross...a piggy back ride on H3ad's back. He's not around much these days...they stashed his forum in the Seedbay section...but he's one of those dudes that I'll grow whatever he does....no ??????s asked. I'd still like to get my hands on some of his other stuff....I keep an ear to the ground...listening for growers that are doing stuff with his work...or if/when H3ad returns with beans.

Cool that you had some success....I have found some caterpillars in my pit plants. Not many though. The night temps are down in the freezing range....probably whacks many of the plant pest.

Odessa is one of my go to crosses....I'm going to keep working it further along via all the outcrosses I have coming up. If I needed a room of quick to find dank plants...I'd germ up some Odessa (especially the IX1s)....churns out the expressions...all are funky...some are funkier. I know that shit smell you mention.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cindy Moon Jones= Blue Moonshine X Cindy Jones

Cindy Jones= Casey Jones X C99BX

The 2 girls that I left alive....now they have been pitted for a few days...are flushing at 65...ummmm

This is a case where I have found plants that I wasn't fond of. But....that was indoors. It's a whole new ball game...now...that I have their mushroomed asses outside....outside...where they can spread in real sun...suffer in freezing temps...heat into the 80s during the day...fall spectrums spraying in shorter and shorter intervals....the days showing all the changes of the seasons...Now...I find them more to my liking...and for sure...they are much happier.

Funny how the outdoors can free your mind....make you see what you may not have been seeing indoors under artificial light/conditions. I find Blue lines are very much restricted in most indoor gardens. More so than many other lines imo. They are meant to be outdoors...and once placed in such conditions....really can express themselves. They switch over quickly in some cases....especially in the fall as I'm finding out. An expression that is mediocre in my indoor nonsense garden...becomes a full fledged queeny outdoors. Amazing really.

Killing Time

Killing Time

Harvested this Conglom (Congo X Grape Krush) at day 57....one of the quick finishing expressions I have found in Congo outcrosses. Flowers are sticky with resin....smells much like the Congo mom...sweet chewing gum..makes your nose twitch. This particular plant was flowered completely indoors...yields are nice.

Wipe Out= Mikado X I-HOP Grape Krush

I-HOP Grape Krush= SCreme 'n Dawg F2 X Grape Krush

Been flushing this one outdoors....not in the pit...but...on the side of a building. She is at day 59...the smallest and fastest out of the Wipe Out sisters. Extremely flimsy in structure....funky in aroma...sticky in resin...I'll be harvesting her in the next few days

All my stuff is flowing really well now days....every harvest is looking bountiful....the fruit off the vine is potent/flavorful/abundant...

I'm in for some really killer runs in the coming months. Working less in the indoor gardens...basic maintenance....minor change ups...easing my way into the fall/winter. My thoughts are there

Checking out those Conglom nugs and I noticed the tomatoes in the back ground. From the looks of it you had a good year, as did I.
I left fruit from one heirloom variety and a hybrid variety named Grape Roma or Cherry Roma( I can't remember), to come up next year. Hoping that a little cross pollination took place and the plants that come up next year will be worth growing. I let a few Cherry tomato F2 grow this year and they simply didn't compare to the new varieties I also ran this year.
And the pathway progresses to my Vegetable garden

The Tomato harvest was pretty nice...glad you noticed my background. I harvested that table full out of my back bed....had frost coming so I pulled 3 rows... many of them green (had almost as many ripe)....I'm leaving them out to ripen...cover them at night...going to can them. I still have a smaller bed...in a different location on the property...running. Some hail damage...but all and all...successful gardening season. Prepping a winter bed currently.

I too...have been breeding Tomatoes for the last bunch of years. I've kind of had success....kind of lost my way...hard to tell sometimes. I grow mostly heirloom/rare varieties....grow/breed them in the same chaotic way as I grow/breed pot plants....lol...it's a mess. I grow seeds from friends (believe it or not...I'm tied into a local veggie scene)....seeds from seed banks (Baker Creek is a go to...a true seedsman)....so much stuff.....new stuff...old stuff....so many seeds...so little space and time. Cannabis is crazy....veggies may be crazier....I love it all....ever expanding my horizons. I'll grow until I can grow no more....then grow some more. We eat well....

Weather here has changed up...we are now having awesome weather...my night temp was 50 degrees and over 80 during the day. I harvested 3 of my pit canna plants...then replaced them with 3 more that were starting flush indoors....so the pit now has 2 more Congloms and a big Wipe Out in it.

I'm rolling that pit full tilt until weather shuts me down. It has been educational and bountiful....I LOVE growing canna plants under sun...especially like being able grow them 1/2 indoor 1/2 outdoor....best of both worlds imo....and I still get to have a constant flux of rotation/variety. Very happy with the results.

My current passion is growing Blackberries (at this time I'm building a separate area for them) and Garlic. I've been researching ...going balls deep...both are extremely interesting plants. The pathways I'm learning are enlightening....I'm going in so many directions with my gardens. My property is evolving beyond....beyond my expectations. I'm wide open...but at the same time...a guerilla grower. I'm learning the tricks of cover/concealment. My landscaping is designed to hide in plain sight. It is turning into a separate art form.

The wife and I played a game today....we pulled 3 truckloads of oak off the forest...the game being....had to be oak....no chainsaw use and it had to be cured limb wood that requires no splitting.....(of course I'll run a saw to dice it into fireplace sized rounds...can't fit long ass branches in there).....anyways...collecting wood with the wife is pretty rare.

***When i find time...I'll post up pix of the current pit line up...nice line up.
