think i'm gonna let it get stable at 60% before i close the jar up for good.
Did the dank lemon smell disappear after keeping the jars closed for 1 week?
.. I was thinking that maybe we need to let the gases all evaporate from the jars on a more regular basis for maybe the first month until everything gets "properly" dry then after that start leaving the jars closed for longer periods. Just my 2 cents anyway would love to hear Simons opinion on this, and any others thoughts too..
Take care guys
yes it did
i wasq thinking just the same thing, maybe air it twice a week till at about 62 % then go 1 week closed before next burp , i think 63-65% may be too moist to keep it closed
Like u THC im pretty keen not to lose the dank smell that i currently am experiencing
any idea why the smell is a lot less strong? will the smell come back?
Hey Simon, hope all is going well with you.
I had a question that is not so much about dry/cure, but it has to do with the final outcome of taste, so I thought this would be a good place to ask.
Flush; how do YOU do it?
It seems you have your people that say a proper flush, 2 weeks out, 3x the soil volume is an absolute must, people who say that's complete garbage and you should continue feeding your plants up until your last watering, and then a somewhat in between (lowering nute solution in the final weeks and then giving a good flush in the last week.)
I'm guessing I'm about 2 weeks from harvest and am trying to decide how I want to finish this thing out.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
You're taking into account that the smell will naturally drift away a bit when it's left to rest right?

Im not going to get into the flushing debate, but I can tell you that it wont take you 3x the volume to flush the nutrients out. A 3 gallon container would have quite low E.C levels after only 3 gallons of water poured through it. Now for one gallon containers, I would do at least 2 gallons, likely 3.
I would advise lowering nute levels as you get closer to the finishing date. Its hard to tell you by how much though. Tracking media E.C. levels weekly during flowering would help you improve your fertilizing regimen, and prevent any need for flushing should you so believe in it.
I was thinking along these lines. This is a HUGE thread, so finding what I'm looking for is a bit of a task.
Does anyone know of a "tent" that a person can just dump their bud into, wet and while trimming, and it will maintain a specific RH until a person feels a need to jar or bag the buds?
They make hanging drying "racks" or flats. So it would seem some sort of enclosure around that and with a RH gauge and mechanism to control a water vaporizer/exhaust fan might work.
Edit.. back in the MYCO days.. there were guys who made tents for their trays of shrooms. They used those free standing enclosed "closets". I think made by, I think, Marth Stewart.

that moist-n-aire unit would be appealing if it were also a dehumidifier...
