i'm not seeing much,if any,difference between a 1000w hps and these lamps as far as bud size and frost...2 lamps are covering a 4x8 area for only 1100 watts...
I never hit for super efficiency on my old magnetic cheapie ballasts. Best was 1.5 lb off a glue bush. Hopin to see a difference. This is my biggest bush yet but only a 45 gallon smartie instead of my usual 65. Flippin this weekend so ill see soon enough.

Been away for awhile because of a bunch of crazy things that have happened over the last month or so. My father had to have his heart reset to the correct rythym because of a-fib (he just had his aorta replaced). Then I randomly, while on the computer suffered a massive grand mal seizure.
I have no history of seizures, though my screen is very bright and i had been on my pc for way too long. i looked away from my screen and could still see the image of the screen in my vision. Then everything started to close in, like blackness and i think i got like a half a word out which was me trying to call my mom who was upstairs, but i went out, somehow walked a few feet and fell onto a metal tool box, then got up and collapsed face first and barely missed the edge of the coal stove.
My mom heard two thuds so she came down and the seizure lasted so long that i don't remember anything after collapsing until the emt', cops, etc. had already been here for several minutes and it took them over 15 minutes.
I was fighting with them saying "wtf are you talking about, i didn't have a fucking seizure" because i had no recollection of it and was basically still out of it and in shock. It wasn't until later that day i started to get my memory back of the events leading up to the seizure, like looking away from my screen and trying to call my mom. Pretty scary though my bloodwork came back good and i've felt fine since. My body got fucked up from falling though. I must of hit my right eye because that and my right sinuses were all bruised and still swollen. I had bruises all over my back, chest, legs, arms, etc. The back of my left thigh was like pure black it was so bruised and eventually it formed into like a rock hard purple/black tomato sized lump. It still hasn't gone away and it's been weeks. I guess they say your muscles give out so you have no protection or reactions to stop your body from getting hurt.

I have a non cheap magnetic ballast, but same thing. I've having trouble hitting high yields. The attempt i just did was only like 12 ounces, maybe a little more if you include all the small scrap. Of course i'm sure it depends on the strain. The Blue Dream i got from overgrow yieled double any other plant i had in my tent that grow. Even my GG4 only yielded like a few grams over half of what the BD did. Of course i'm an idiot and fucked up trying to clone it but now that i got cloning down i would like to get my hands on it again.

mornin campers...yup,it's summer time here...still not forecasting 100 degrees yet,but it's been darn close...
at least this is the part of the summer when the swamp cooler really kicks ass...
and it's so dry out at least sweat evaporates quickly...not that it makes any real difference when riding a bike...the only thing i really mind is getting sweat in my eyes when riding,or the far more frequent sweat on the sunglasses...like all things related to bikes if i wanted to throw a heaping pile of flaming money at it i could get some sort of ridiculous laser battle blast shield ultra cycling glasses like the lycra douches wear....but who wants that?
i ride in sandals with a titanium travel bong for gods sake!
anywho...
think i will do something different today and ride a bike somewhere and maybe do some stuff...
ask away,this is a good spot since there's plenty of people who know way more about the subject than i do...

Thank you. Assuming the ventilation is there - it is - I'm running about 1100 watts (actual) of LED in 3x600 COB white lights and 2x1200 full-spectrum 15w diode.
Placed on a bar they result in a pretty solid footprint of 4x6; in the sequence 600-1200-600-1200-600 over 5 horizontal feet, each 600 bar over two plants.
I have 6 vertical feet from *top of pot* to lights available.
Am I running the risk of overdoing it and burning up 6 plants in 7 gal smartpots/coco; in a 5x4 growspace? Temps are good - I went overboard on ventilation.
I'm just wondering if there's a theoretical upper limit to like, watts per plant, or how much energy they can absorb. Currently at about 175 watts/plant.

100% germ rate from all three strains by hour 44. The all went into beer cups with with a fresh batch of my coco mix, and a dusting of granular myco in the bottom of each hole. They're sitting in a flat about two feet from an L. E. D shop light. Just waiting for them to crack the surface....
i use a 12watt cfl for cloning since too much light slows things down...
for early veg i use 125w cfl's,then a 400w halide,then a 1000w halide
Well, yes and no. I started leaving older clones about 2 feet away from it and they did awesome, I tucked 5 fresh seedlings 8" below it and they got nuked. This is the first time using it at the proper distance. It is just a L.E.D. shop light not made specifically for growing (Harbor Freight $20), but it does work well if you keep it far enough away. It also has a pretty decent spectrum around 5000K is my best guess. I also took the diffuser off, and it's blindingly bright. I kept the nuked seedlings, and put them down at 2' and they started taking off again. They were really sad, but I kept them around for the learning experience. I hope that helps, lol!
Oh yeah, my cloner just receives ambient light from surrounding grow areas, all L.E.D..
