A Boat in the swamp

Aquasorb isn't expensive and you only need a little. It also lasts for years. Don't use too much and don't reapply every year - when it swells it can actually push a plant right out of the ground if you overdo it.

Rubbermaid containers are great though we found they break down after 3-4 years outside. In the ground is more discreet and will go longer between watering, though if you visit twice a month, you're fine either way. If you go with containers, make sure you poke holes in the bottom.

Hey brother I know you have some experience drying outdoors and wanted to ask what you thought my chances were with this. I have a bunch of fresh bud under a couple tarps because it’s raining and rain coming for the next 3 days. Wondered if you had experiences with this. Plants will be dry but humidity obviously off the map so not sure they are safe from mold just never had to have them outdoors for 3 ½ days with rain expected each day.

Not to mention hunting season just started too. I wanted like hell to find a big conifer to put them up into but ran out of time so two tarps and two fingers crossed.
PEACE

hamstring - I noticed you contributed to my thread last year on outdoor drying so I know you have experience. I don't think you had much rain to deal with last year though. I did have a few rainy days which slowed down the drying quite a bit, even re-hydrating the buds a bit, but no mold. I think you'll be OK but checking daily will be essential.

First smoke test - awesome

First smoke test - awesome

Wow, the plants all dried enough to pull down after only two days hanging with the heat cranked (indoors obviously!). We haven't even started trimming but we did pluck a couple of small lower branches. Man, strong herb! Full smoke reports and dried bud pics coming...

Glad to hear your bud has turned out good cant wait to hear a full smoke report.

Thanks for the advice and the two links. I do have experience with drying outdoors but never had to build a shelter to keep them dry. I guess I was looking for your experience with that aspect and I appreciate your advice.
PEACE

Damn two heads, I don't post here much but I had to when I see such awesome buds coming out of the swamp (and mold free at that it looks). Congrats from a fellow swamp grower.

Nice to see the swamp growers coming out of the bullrushes. We lost very little to mold this year - maybe a quarter oz. out of about 2 lbs. I'm becoming a big believer in preventative spraying with our homemade Greencure (1 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp dish soap, 1/2 tsp veg. oil in a 2 liter spray bottle - those in the US should buy the real deal.)

The real smoke reports are coming but, meanwhile I gotta say it again - this weed is strong!
