after waiting for a good 2 years the growshop i use have had there own digital ballasts made . had a email from them asking me if i will test 1 for them .

The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast is not like any ordinary 'dimmable' ballast. This variable output ballast has been specially designed to give the most selective growers the ultimate versatility and performance from a single lighting system. This super cool, super efficient, fully adjustable digital ballast will run 1000w, 600w and 400w sodium, metal halide and duel spectrum lamps and features an Over-Drive facility that increases the ballasts output for maximum performance from your lamps. These are the quietest, brightest, coolest and most functional digital grow lights available. Each unit comes with a UK power cord, 3 year warranty and full instructions. The power cord is detachable allowing it to be changed if being used outside of the UK


The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast can be used in three different ways:


- You select the lamp type and wattage and the ballast will run the lamp to the exact specification that the lamp requires, just as if the ballast was dedicated to that lamp. It's like having three separate ballasts in one unit!

- You can reduce the output of your lamp when not so much power is needed. For example, if you are running a 1000w lamp you can reduce the output to 600w or 400w.

- You can boost the output of your lamp using the Over-Drive feature. This feature allows the output of the ballasts highest rated lamp (1000w) to be increased by up to 10% delivering maximum performance from the lamp.

The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast allows lamps of various wattages to be operated in the same unit simply by adjusting the dial on the ballast. This model will run 400w, 600w and 1000w lamps. Each lamp will be operated to the exact specification that the lamp requires.

Smart-Step Technology: By turning the dial on the Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast you can reduce the output of a lamp when not so much power is needed. For example, if you are running a 1000w lamp you can reduce the output to 600w or 400w and the lamp will operate exactly as if it were the lower wattage lamp. Just turn the dial again to step back to full power.

The Over-Drive feature will increase the output of the ballasts highest wattage lamp to achieve maximum performance. Increase is between 5-10%

Soft Start Technology:Soft Start Technology prolongs lamp life by stopping current rush to the lamp and preventing lamp overload. When the ballast is started from cold there will be a 3 second fixed delay before ignition. After the lamp ignites there will be a series of random 0-2 second delays before full brightness is reached after approximately 3-5 minutes. The Soft Start Technology is also activated when increasing or decreasing power using the 'Smart-Step' feature.

Lamp Compatibility: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast is suitable for use with Sodium, Metal Halide and Dual Spectrum lamps.

Automatic Frequency Adjustment: The Ajusta-Watt Digital Ballast automatically adjusts its output frequency to maintain a constant output regardless of input power fluctuations and ageing lamps. This frequency adjustment also prevents 'lamp flicker'.

Full Circuit Protection: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast is fitted with a sophisticated built in circuit breaker system that protects the ballast against a series of faults including: Open Circuit Protection, Short Circuit Protection, Over Voltage Protection, Under Voltage Protection and Over Temperature Protection. In the event of a fault the ballast will go into protection mode to avoid damage to the ballast.

Running Temperature: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast is extremely cool running making it easier to control working temperatures inside the grow room.

RF Shielding: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast has superior RF Shielding with Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 7% meaning it will not interfere with television or radio equipment.

Silent Operation: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast has no noisy internal fans and is completely silent in operation.

High Efficiency: The Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast is up to 30% more efficient than a standard magnetic ballast producing more lumens of light per watt of consumed energy. Efficiency does not diminish and is maintained for the entire life of the unit.
Re-Strike of Hot Lamps: In the event of a power failure, The Adjusta-Watt uses a timed re-strike system that will detect hot lamps before re-striking. If hot lamps are detected re-strike will be delayed for 60 second intervals until lamps have cooled sufficiently to be re-ignited.

Low Amps: Low Amps on start up means more ballasts can be run on the mains circuit than with magnetic ballasts.

There are lots of ways to use an Adjusta-Watt Digital Ballast to your advantage. Here is a typical application!!<</strong>>!!

When introducing new plants to HID light they must at first become accustomed to the higher light levels. Most growers have to use separate lower wattage ballasts or raise lamps up for this but why buy more ballasts and why waste power? The Adjusta-Watt allows you to increase light levels gradually as your plants develop.
Begin vegetative growth with a 600w metal halide dimmed to 400w. As plants increase in size, increase the power to the metal halide lamp to 600w. When its time to flower switch to a 1000w sodium lamp dimmed to 600w. As the plants begin to flower increase the power to 1000w. Later in the flowering stage use the Over-Drive feature to boost your lamps performance giving you extra light for maximum yields.

my lumatek was sent free with 2 adjust a wing shades, best ballest ive ever had. annd they gave me a 600 mh sunmaster cool bulb its the don.

yep some Lumatek are only Dimmable 600w and you can turn it down to 400w .

with the ajusta watt you can do this as well turn a 1000w down to a 600w or 400w also u can put in a 400w or a 600w bulb unlike the Lumatek Dimmable 600w

yeah greens have just started selling the lumatec ones in the uk which look exactly the same but a different colour.
