We are a bit concerned about our oldest spot. Two weeks ago or so we've found someone else's spot less than 100m away from ours. Two days ago we found another, also very close to our patch. Both of these spots seem to be run by total amateurs- plants are planted in poor soil, in shadow, not watered enough... We are afraid that they know about our patch and after their plants finish (or die, which I think is more probable) they will come to harvest ours.
I hope that this good karma we've been gathering for years will save us from these... noobs.
So far, most of our plants there look like this lady here. They were given some Bio Roots Booster and small dose of GHE FloraGro and FloraMicro. (sorry for poor quality of this photo. It was dark already and I only had mobile phone with me)
We've pulled out some male plants. Unfortunately our only Kali Mist x Ortega Strain turned out to be a male too. It looks really healthy, with nice purple pheno so we are considering leaving it for pollination. Good genes can't go to waste
i Like the CHART,its a bit dizzying at first....then it comes to focus!!!!!!
GREAT work rounding all the strains down to 1.
VERY important gene background!!
VERY cool,and good luck!
Next patch - ACED Erdpurt f2. One plant has been dug out, probably by a deer, so now we are left with 3 plants.
Unfortunately they are showing some strange leaf growth. Deficiency? Disease? Mutation? We don't know. Any tips?
Polish Out Mix x Lemon Shaman
For those who do not know, Polish Out Mix are seeds we've been growing for the last 3 years. They are probably Early Girl or Early Misty. They usually grow fast and big, being very strong and resistant plants.
Things on the AF Field are not going that great. Probably because it is only patch in which we left mostly original soil from the spot and seeds were planted directly into that soil. To stimulate growth we treated them with some GHE nutrients and Bio Roots Booster.
Unfortunately both NL Haze x Erdpurt on this spot turned out to be males. We've decided to leave them for now, these are good genes and plants look really good, so they might become parents to our seeds. We will see which male looks better in couple of days and harvest some pollen.
Out of 15 plants 5 turned up to be males, 8 are females and 2 haven't decided yet.
Those 3 males are:
Lemon Shaman x EDDG
Kali Mist x Ortega Strain
EDDG x ((BH \ erocDP x PT) x LR) x ((Grapefruit x Victory) x Shamanka)[Cool purple pheno ]
We've taken them home and put in our veg box to harvest some pollen. Suprisingly after just one day the EDDG x ((BH \ erocDP x PT) x LR) x ((Grapefruit x Victory) x Shamanka) male hermed into.. a female! (at least it looks like it's popping white hairs) Well, we won't be making seeds with that fellow, thats certain. Still it is the first time we've came across such behavior so it is very interesting to us
Hi, man
Going nice! Wish you an easy summer, carrying water to all those patches must feel like training of a Farmer's Walk champion
I was wondering why you put that black cover onto the soil. Not to let weeds grow, slow water evaporation or warm the top layer of soil?
I'm asking because on every visit to my plants I dig the top of the soil around them to "break" the surface and let more air enter the soil. They love it. And covering the soil with something non-porous seems to do just the opposite - not letting the soil to "breathe".
Exactly Phantomx - this material (agro fiber/fabrick not sure how it's called in English) is breathable, lets water through, prevents evaporation (and therefore drying of the soil) and keeps the light away from the soil, so that the weeds don't grow. It also attracts light because it's black and it keeps soil a bit warmer.
About that hermie EDDG x ((BH \ erocDP x PT) x LR) x ((Grapefruit x Victory) x Shamanka):
I'm not so sure if those white things I've spotted are pistils/calyxes ( I never know which name to use - anyway I mean white "hair" - female organs ) or it just looks like it. I've looked at it today and I don't see any typical female hair, just new "bananas" We'll see in couple of days. It a very nice male so it would be a shame to waste it...
