hello folks,
My first time attempting the jar curing technique and I had a question. The meds still have a bad taste and its been two weeks of curing. now to properly diagnose the problem there are a few details to share:
- Organic supplemented soil: guanos/ewc's/kelp and greensand etc
- 1.5-2.5 weeks of plain RO
- bought a cheap hygrometer (going to buy the caliber 3 soon)
- placed harvested nugs on glass table and let dry in a 22-25 degree room for apporx 3days unitl the stems were dried but still had a bit of bend still in them.
- Then I placed them in jars and burped them for a couple days until the inaccurate hygrometer read 55-60% RH then I sealed them for 2 weeks. I did open the jars a couple times briefly to burp some moisture.
now at the 2 week point the smell is much better but the aftertaste is still harsh.
Is it common to cure much longer?
Did I perhaps jar them too early?
any thoughts?
Thanks
