Hiya Tyler
Can't wait to see those girlies in full bloom! No HPS received yet? Waiting for equipment sucks. I must say, you do a lovely job of LST'ing your plants, that BSP will go crazy outside! Take care and enjoy!

Looks good dude, seems like you just got the mother load of dank strains sent to you eh??? Sweet deal, keep up the great work you've done so far and I don't see why we won't be drooling over your danky buds soon enough! PEACE

Quite a collection you got going. Sometimes I get jealous of you guys with multi-grows but, my space and personality don't allow. If I had to water by hand, I'd never see harvest. That's the great thing about weed. It accommodates every grower.

That BSP is looking right at home outside. Going to be interesting to see how it finishes! I think you have influenced me to run the rest of my WW beans, I miss the smell and buzz from that stuff. Things look like they're coming along well, keep it up mane!

Hello crzygirl Welcome to the thread and thanks for the compliments.
Actually I did receive my new HPS ballast and socket, I meant to say that in
the previous post but I was high and must've just forgot :bashhead: LOL Not
only did I get back what I sent in though. They also gave me another hood
and another bulb too, for free!!! Wow I gotta say Ive been very impressed
with the service that I have had from HTGsupply. Now I have 2 hoods, 3
bulbs and 1 balast. I cant wait to see how the BSP finishes outside, she
looks so happy every time I see her and shes stretching pretty good too.

Yo caligreen hows it going bro? I definitely did get "mother load of
dank strains" sent to me  I was laughing out loud when I read that.
Thanks for the compliments too.

Hey FreezerBoy  Glad you could make it. I totally agree about
weed being able to fit anyone's style, God made quite an amazing plant
 See ya around bro.

Thanks One Love Im excited about the BSP being outside too and Im
glad I could make you want to grow some Nirvana WW beans again
:biglaugh: I hope to see your grow if you decide to put one up!

jasno I guess I cant really say too much yet since I havent flowered
any of their strains yet. But, I can say that the 2 males I had before and this
current WW III that I have have all grown with a lot of vigor and have all
had excellent structure. All the seeds I germinated popped open within the
first few days except one that didnt pop at all but 9/10 isnt too bad. They
seem to be pretty forgiving on the nutes too. I definitely cant complain at all
from what Ive seen of their seeds so far and hopefully when I get to harvest
and smoke some, Ill have even more better things to say about them. In
fact, these have gone so well, I think I might order a few more strains by
them just for fun. Hope that helped some :smoke:

UPDATE:
Nothing too new going on with the BSP. Shes begun to stretch and has
almost doubled in height but hasnt started packin on the buds yet. My HB
has responded nicely to the light LST session that I gave her and has a
pretty even canopy now. Her side branches are almost as thick as the main
stem now and I dont think Ill be able to LST her much more, but thats ok
cause she doesnt stretch at all from what Ive seen when shes thrown into
flower. WW III is doing great and has alot of tops now. Ill probably have to
tie her down some more in the next couple of days. Still no preflowers on her
yet but it shouldnt be long now judging from how big the 2 males where
when they showed 'em. I put my new bag seed that sprouted in a Hempy
cup and set in in the side of my grow room. My Kali-Dream sprouted up
through the rockwool last night and was there saying hello to me when I
peeked at my grow room this morning so I put her into the unused empty
Hempy bucket. I also germed another KD to put in the other Hempy bucket
and she just broke open about 2 days ago. The last WW seed that I had in
that Hempy bucket never sprouted (I think I might have washed it farther
down in to the medium when I was watering it :bashhead: cause it was no
longer in the rockwool when I checked, what can ya do?). Ive got to find a
better way to start seedlings so that its easy to transplant them into the
Hempy buckets. Im going to wait untill the KD that just sprouted gets big
enough to flower (about as big as the plants now), which should be another
2 to 3 weeks, until I flip the lights to 12/12. Thats about it for now I think...
onto the pictures (sorry I forgot to take pics of the BSP this time)

Hey Bad MTF  Hows it going? Thanks and welcome to the thread!
Yea I do LST my plants. The main reason I do it is because I love the way the
plants look when they are LST'd. They have so much more shape and are really
more like a bush and it thickens their stems like crazy. Also it helps me utilize
the space in my closet better, grow stretchier sativa strains that I love so
much and keep my light lower because I can only move it up and down about 4
or 5 feet. Im hoping it will give me more yield and less popcorn bud too. Hope
you stick around. Later.

Hi Mr. Durden. Way to go with the grow, to get away from the evils of schwag.
Once you've had that WW, you'll know. And it'll only get better.
Hempy buckets are great. I think reusing the medium is fine. Let it dry, and stir it up.
Nice mod seeds. CinnHaze is some really good smoke, should go long and stretch pretty good. I'd bet money that the MOD bx is killer. i mean, it's kali mist crossed with destroyer. On the kali Dream- I had a dreamgoddess, so i can say that mod's dreamweaver mom is a good one. Crossed with kali mist... should rock.
That bsp outside is going to start flowering right away, should make a lot of buds.
Good to know about the service from HTG. that's where i got my light.

Whats going on crzygirl? The girls are bushing out like crazy
now! They loved being tied down. I tied the WW down pretty good and she
bushed out nicely and the hashberry is pretty bushy without LSTing so shes
like a dense miniature forest LOL.

Hey hazy  Glad you could make it bro, welcome! Want to take
a rip from this bong? I dont know if Ill be getting any WW to smoke :violin: Ill
explain in the update. But thats OK with me, Ive got 2 Kali-Dreams, a female
Hashberry, and a bagseed :smoke: That should be enough to last till the
next grow, I hope. Thanks for the input on reusing the Hempy buckets. It
seemed like such a waste to just throw it all away, my HB doesnt seem to
mind. Good to know the Cinn Haze stretches, I like to tie down stretchy girls
:muahaha: also Im glad to hear you think the DW mom for Kali-Dream should
be good. What do you think of the light from HTG? Did you get an upgraded
bulb or just stick with the regular one?

UPDATE
Well the girls (and possibly one guy) are taking off and are more than ready
to flower but I have to wait for the KD's roots to hit the res at least before
they can flower. I should have a couple more bushes on my hands by then
:muahaha: Well it seems that I wasnt meant to smoke any WW this grow,
but I plan to order another pack of them and some other strains by Nirvana
sometime in the near future to actually see how the females are hah. My
WW III showed some preflowers and they look just like the ones on the other
WW's :badday: so unless Im just being paranoid of having males and judging
them too early, I have another male WW on my hands. If I do I think its a
sign to keep it and use it as a father for some seeds, so We'll see what
happens. The HB is branching like crazy. I think Im going to have to do some
trimming and pruning. I could get a bunch of clones from her right now too
and not damage the yield too much so if I can get some peat pellets or
rockwool Im going to get some clones I think. The KD 1 is spitting out a new
set of leaves, maybe another week or 2 before she hits the res. KD 2 just
popped up yesterday. She was stuck under a membrane from the seed and
didnt seem to be gowning so I took off the membrane with some tweezers.
Hope I didnt damage her at all. I also noticed the same thing with the
bagseed so I did the same for it. The BSP is starting to get some flowers
forming and is slowing down her stretch, she looks great and is loving the
outdoors. Im glad I didnt try to veg her any longer and flower her in my room
cause she might have taken over my entier house LOL. Heres a few pics of
the plants in the room, I was too lazy to take them out.

Tyler, they are looking nice with the lst'ing, are there any particular tips you would give someone interested in attempting LST'ing for the first time?

T

TylerDurden

Hey crzygirl Im honored that you would ask me for advise on how to LST and would be glad to give you some info. about how to start out. This is what makes coming on these forums worth it :D Well, the plant that I first began experimenting LSTing with is the BSP. I didnt fully understand the concept of LSTing and didnt keep the canopy at an even height. Every time a branch would grow too tall I would just tie it down as far as it would go and wait till they got too tall again and tied them down again. With her I didnt tie the main stem over like I do to all my plants now. But first, before I go any farther, I have to recommend this thread to you because its where I first learned of the art of LSTing, check it out its: LST training in detail. Why bushes are better Anyways, for the BSP I tied her main stem down like its shown in this thread. It was a good way to start out because theres not much danger in breaking the stems. When I first had to bend over the plant to tie it down I was thinking, "oh shit I am totally going to kill this plant or damage it beyond repair" and I felt like I was hurting the plant LOL. After seeing the results though and seeing how the plants love it I have no problem bending them over. Now I tie mine down in an upside down U shape and leave the string till it starts to cut into the stem. After that you pretty much just watch it grow and when the new shoots get too tall, tie them all down to the same height (usually the top will have grown high enough that you can tie them all down to its height and have a totally even canopy) It takes a little practice and experimenting to get to your liking but its fun learning. Main thing is, have fun! I like creating art, so when I tie down my plants I kind of feel like Im sculpting my plants and creating art with nature. Oh and if you do happen to break a stem when you are trying it, Ive found that duct tape can be your best friend. Dont worry too much if it happens though, with WW II his stem was dangling and barely connected at all and I though I was just going to have to top him. It ended up slowing his growth for a little while but he healed up nicely and turned out to be a nice plant. I didnt even duct tape his stem, I just let it dangle and it healed itself, its a pretty amazing plant. Damn I didnt intend on writing that much but after smoking a bowl of Purple Mango I had no trouble writing. Hope this helps some and I hope to see you try it out, I think it gives pretty pleasing results. If I left anything unclear or you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask. Adios :rasta:

Yup, that WW is a boy. Damn the luck Tyler. Well I popped 3 of my last 5 WW beans and two are already planted and above the ground. I will gift a friend of mine with the last two, but hopefully I can get a few ladies out of these 3 here shortly. I'll put some pics up when they are a little more photogenic. Sounds like things are getting exciting around you way!

Thank you Tyler, I will be using these techniques for my next crop. The strains i'm working with have a tendency to grow WAY to tall. Thank you

Well, I do actually have three questions. How tall before you start LST'ing? How much height do you have in your grow area, and how tall do you expect your plants to finish up at?

T

TylerDurden

Damn :asskick: thats what I thought it was One Love well thanks for
the confirmation. Im glad to hear that you have your three WW seeds poppin
and am lookin forward to seeingthe pics :D I hope you have better luck with
your three with female/male ratio than I did LOL.

Sup crzy :rasta: I did notice that your EvoLav, a beauty btw, is
pretty fuck*n tall. Shes just beggin for ya to LST her :biglaugh: On to your
questions: first off, I wait untill my plants are a minimum of 3 inches before I
bend them over. Clones are easier to bend over than plants from seed, well
except for my HB clone, she had a ridiculously thick stem a few days after I
put her in the Hempy bucket. With the way my light is hung right now I have
about 4 1/2 - 5 to go in height, so my canopy could be at about 4 feet and
be comfortable. If I wanted to hang it from the ceiling, I could probably get
another foot or two, but I dont plan on changing it any time soon, which
would lead us to you third question: I hope to keep my plants at at least 2
1/2 feet and 4 feet max. It takes a good bit of LSTing to keep it like that but
I find it fun to LST my plants and dont mind spending time doing it right. It
looks like my BSP is going to finish at around 2 1/2 feet high I think with a
ton of shoots and she was my experimental plant so I think I can keep the
girls where I want them. Hope that helps out some.

Well I had to disassemble the room yesterday and move my plants to another
location for a little while due to an annual inspection coming up :cuss: Its
been a pain in the ass and I hate not being able to give the girls the
attention they need, especially the seedlings. Hopefully they will only be
there for a few days and then I can get everything back up and running.
They are outside atm under a covered porch. Im going to let some ladybugs I
bought give them a good manicure before I put them back inside, then if I
can find any neem oil Im going to give them a good treatment of that before
I flower them just to make sure there arent any bugs. I wouldnt have put
them outside if Id had any other choice but I didnt :badday: Ill give an
update w/ pics as soon as the rooms back in order. Later.

Thank you again Tyler. The LST method sounds alot better than topping, which I was going to do to try to get my next crops to NOT grow so dang tall haha. Yeah my EvoLav is one crystally covered, tall ass bitch. Shes about 4 feet tall, and has some massively thick/brittle stems.

Annual inspection is shitty, have never had to go through that before. We just have a maintenance crew that replaces our Heater/AC unit filter 3 times a year. They give us like two weeks in advance though. I just shutoff all power to the grow areas and make sure the radio is on and im smoking a cig when they come to replace the filter.

Can't wait to buy a house some day.

Sweet dude! Just went and read through your thread again and everything looks real nice. Those are MALES but I bet you already found out by now....

Bummer on the moving the plants, that can be very stressful not only on them but on yourself mang!!! Sorry to hear but hopefully you can get them back in there and keep growing no worries! It seems like you had light issues, then this, but you are still pushing through and that's what we like to see here at ICMAG!!! Once you have everything set you should know what your doing and never have a big issue to work out.

The WW did look great I love those serrated edges on the fan leaves man! Look like a saw blade! The purple mango is looking fiiine as fuck too, did you have to pull her cuz of the inspection or was she in a pot?? What's BSP? She looks really well trained I love you LST stylee going on! Keep it up man, and good luck! PEACE

Im in kind of a rush but the room is back up temporarily, Ill get back on that
later and have an update with some more pics but heres a shot of everything
back in its place except the WW III which I cloned and chopped :smoke:
