Holy cow. That's nice work. I'll assume the electrician is not the grower. What was the bill for the work? The parts? That's awesome!

Very very nice however I consider open bulb and invitation to a structure fire... but I am a safety nazi like that

nope.......

only way to be CSA approved is to go with open bulbs...there are currently no hoods on the market that are CSA approved...

also there are high heat shut offs that cut power to the lights if the temps go over 87 and a smokee that cuts power to the lights if smoke is detected....

this is a medical, that is up to code 110% and then some....no fucking mickey mouse

thanks for the kind words, but i can assure you myself and the people building this are safety natzi's as well....we are doing everything by the book...

fair enough just reading your responses to a HVAC issue and was very impressed I know nothing about it but you were all over the issue you took with the so called pro's bypassing safety mechanisms and truly knew your shit I feel...

Again very amazing set up I could only wish to be apart of a project like this...

Take care

hippie420- thanks for the kind words!!!

k+ brother!

Yes4Prop215- the bubbas are pushing it right now and will be huge...i will snap some pics on monday.....32 gal pots will be their new homes.... u can see the pots in a pic

some legals i have seen still use hoods, buts its at the discretion of the owner, as are all things!!! lol

I guess its all gravy until you get inspected, if and or when that happens....sometimes the electrical is passed purely based on the history of the electrician, but when you are running this much power, why not be safe? I guess they cant inspect everything. ( i am talking about getting a permit for the work done, not HC inspector)

do it right the first time, and safety first!

NICE WORK. Are the enclosure that house the flip relays custom made or did you buy Electro-Yield, they look similar. I notice you have kickass 200A contactors hooked up to thermal shutoffs. Is there any delays or are all the lights flipped at once.

It takes some skill, but you get what you pay for. I hope that electrician got a nice tip :good:

all made right here in BC

oh yea, i even have high heat power shut offs in my 4k room, its the only way to go

the ballasts never turn off, they all flip at once

he is the man!!! and yes he was paid well

fuck! i got to go change my pants now! epic....

thanks bro

I hope that electrical room has its own A/C unit, lol. It's gotta get pretty warm in there.

Awesome install, very impressive.

power room is in the basement, there are 4 X 12" vortex fans to suck/push air out of the power room. After I am finished installing the 8x 5 ton acs for the flowering rooms, we'll see if they want me to toss one in there for good measure.

Curious, what's the cable length between the ballasts & hoods? What type/brand of relays did you use?

I never did try it @ 75'+ but have heard of supposed bulb firing reliability with (remote) "magnetic" ballasts >15ft from the lamp. I've personally never had an issue in the past using a 15' extension cord (so 30' total), but this time around I went all-digital just in case the ~75' was too much (most digitals claim 65' range).

Any particular reason the air handlers are mounted in what seems to be an upflow (return near floor raised by cinder blocks?) position. I ask this because I understand you to be a HVAC guy, and it was my understanding that it would be "better" to have it a bit higher up, preferably in a side-flow orientation?

Nice looking setup.
